Ford Crown Victoria, P73, Fully Equipped Responder Car on 2040-cars
Youngsville, Louisiana, United States
I'm selling my 2006 Ford Crown Victoria as my family is outgrowing it and I've got to get an SUV. This vehicle has a Texas Salvage title; it was in a front end collision early in its life. All repairs were made back to factory new conditions, and the frame was not bent. I have all the maintenance records on the vehicle since new. The car has 139,xxx miles on it and is my daily driver, so the mileage will change but not by much. It is the P73 package, meaning it has the same engine as the P71 (Police Interceptor) but have the full power front bench and cloth seating all the way around. It also has the smoother suspension package from the one in the P71. I bought it from a Houston PD officer, and used it for First Responder work while living in Houston. It is equipped with hideaway LEDS (R&B), a Federal Signal Smart Siren, and wig-wag headlight flasher. The emergency equipment will come with the vehicle only if you have the proper credentials to have such equipment. I'm asking $4500 but that price is very much negotiable. I'd also entertain trades involving an SUV. You can call or text me at 985 two three two, two seven 78 if you have questions. The vehicle is in Lafayette, LA and is for sale locally so I reserve the right to end the auction early. You will be responsible for coming to get the vehicle. I am happy to assist in getting the vehicle to the shipper, but once the payment is made, she's yours. I have described the vehicle to the best of my knowledge. Understand this, it is a daily driver, has scuffs and scratches on it, and no dents. You are welcome to come check out the vehicle or ask questions prior to your bid. With all that being said, the vehicle is being sold AS IS and WHERE IS, with no warranties expressed or implied. I will require a $500 deposit within 24 hours of auction close, with full payment being made within 48 hours of that payment. I will re-list the vehicle if the payment is not made by that point and will leave the appropriate feedback. Thanks for looking at my car. |

2015 Ford Mustang GT road test ride-along
Wed, 24 Sep 2014You've no doubt already pored over our first drive of the 2015 Ford Mustang, where author Jonathon Ramsey proclaimed that "this new car shames the old, redefines the model and gallops far ahead of anything else in the segment." And following Ramsey's first stint behind the wheel of Ford's new coupe, we sent him back out with another 'Stang to capture some of these same impressions over a backdrop of the car moving quickly along gorgeous California canyon roads.
But this also gave our author and editors time to read through the hundreds of comments left on that original Mustang review. You readers are indeed a vocal bunch, and one particular comment about how the automotive media is so willing to bash an outgoing car as soon as the new one arrives really caught our attention. In this video, Ramsey stands by his written text, saying the new Mustang is "massively better than the one it replaces," and in doing so, addresses your comments while providing more insight into just how good the Ford truly is.
We won't spoil the rest for you. Check out the feature video above, and as always, leave us your thoughts in the Comments section below.
Time to catch up with Jay Leno's Garage, including his Lamborghini Espada restoration
Tue, Dec 23 2014If you're already jealous of the time, effort and money that Jay Leno can devote to his massive car collection, prepare to get a little greener with envy with this latest video from Jay Leno's Garage. Instead of the usual format of discussing a model for about ten minutes and then taking it out for a test drive, this week Leno gives viewers on a tour of over a dozen projects concurrently happening in his stable. The breadth of the vehicles shown and the things being done to them run the entire span of the automotive hobby. At the same time, Jay's shop is working on just a simple restoration of his 1969 Lamborghini Espada (pictured), and at the other side of the building, the team is rebuilding a wood-bodied 1914 Detroit Electric from scratch. He eventually plans to slot a more modern electric drivetrain into it. If bikes are more your interest, there's a freshly completed Brough Superior just waiting for a ride, and if American models are your thing, a Ford Bronco is getting a Coyote V8 installed into it. You have some very specific tastes if you can't watch this clip and start wishing at least one of these vehicles could be in your own garage. Other than the personal projects his mechanics are working on in the shop, Jay gets to have them all, plus plenty more.
Chris Harris pits Fiesta ST against Mercedes G63 AMG in 0-60 battle... sort of
Thu, 01 Aug 2013Vehicle performance tests are serious business, with reputations made or broken by things like braking distance, top speed, and lateral g-forces. King of the metrics, though, is the 0-60 run, which for unknown reasons has become the benchmark for what truly makes a car a performance machine.
Now, Chris Harris from Drive has turned the whole idea behind the sprint to 60 on its ear. Taking a new Ford Fiesta ST, Harris asks a simple question: would the ST be quicker to 60 on its own, or on a trailer being towed by a Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG?
It's a fair question, really. The Fiesta Harris tested hit 60 in 7.2 seconds on a slightly uphill section of runway. It should be noted that Harris quotes his ST at 182 horsepower, which is about 15 ponies less than what we're getting in the US, so these numbers might not hold up all that well against an American model. The G63 AMG, meanwhile, is a 536-horsepower monster, powered by a twin-turbo V8 that, able to propel the big SUV to 60 mph in just 5.2 seconds without towing a Fiesta.
