If this car doesn't sell right now, I'm completely cleaning it up and purchasing a seat removing all wiring, equipment etc. I know it looks like shit, I just bought, paid good money for it, and threw it up here for an offer. So if it doesn't sell I'm going all out and fixing the entire car up to get more money out of it. As simple as that. I will spend the $1,400 to repaint it, vinyl/cloth rear seat, rear door panels, add center console, tires, etc. If you want a low mileage P-71, now is the time to take one, because when I fix this P-71 up for the $1400 it needs just to look "pretty and presentable", I'm going to be asking $6,500+. It doesn't necessarily need it, I'm not hurting for money or time, it will require alot of my time and labor, but its up to you if you want to do it yourself on your own schedule and own cost. Again, if it doesn't sell now I'm going all out with it and re-selling it as one of the cleanest low mileage P-71's on here. New center caps, sparkling clean engine bay and all. It will look brand new.
2005 Police Interceptor P-71 package Crown Victoria Interceptor. VIN # confirms it is a P-71. Also used as an Indiana State Trooper Meth Suppression Unit undercover raid car. This car was active.
Here's the deal on the car, was an Indiana State Trooper Highway Cruiser in East Chicago, which is in Indiana, I could go on and on about the power of the car, but I'm sure if you're looking at this post you know the car will break the tires loose at 30mph, and you have to be easy on the gas when accelerating from a dead stop or you're going to sit in one spot roasting the tires. This engine is the Corvette motor of Ford. Features Forged internals instead of Cast, and higher compression. Also has an Oil Cooler for high abuse RPM use.
More about the P-71 Body/Drivetrain THIS PARTICULAR CAR HAS THE OPTIONAL LIMITED SLIP DIFFERENTIAL. Also, 2005 was the last year for the "Aluminum Metal Matrix Composite Driveshaft" which reassured safe speed over 150mph. They went straight aluminum on the 2006+ to save costs, and had a limiter on the car to 125mph. This car does not have a limiter.
The rear-end is 3:27:1, the suspension is very stiff. The transmission has modified shift points compared to regular Crown Victoria's. It is very aggressive, aggressive as in it shifts from a high RPM to a slightly lower, but higher RPM when you engage the accelerator heavily. In other words, it will redline at 5,500RPM, and only drop back down to 3,800RPM to keep your accelerating speed very high.
Now on to this particular car..
This car was active. It has a plastic rear seat, at THIS particular time it has all the wiring, brackets etc in the car. Painted over with black industrial spray paint by the city of East Chicago/Auctioneer's at the state auction. The stickers are still readable, just all black. Right now, it looks presentable from 25 feet away.
The good:
Low mileage P-71 forged internal high compression engine in very good working order
104K HIGHWAY MILES. This car may have been seen by YOU on the Indiana Interstate's in East Chicago.
Suspension is good
Transmission is good
Limited Slip Differential(also known as Posi-Trac) 3:27:1 gearing
Front seats in very good condition
Dash is in good condition, mainly used brackets to hold and mount equipment so there aren't dozens of holes. The wiring was ran under the dash.
Power Steering pump good
Oil cooler working
Radiator good
All engine internals good
**NO RUST AROUND WHEEL WELL OR UNDER ANY DOORS**
Headlights and Taillights working, there are NO shorts in the wiring
Huge trunk
Exhaust system is in very good condition
**NO LEAKS ANYWHERE INSIDE** Everything is plugged
**NO LEAKS FROM ENGINE OR TRANS OR RADIATOR**
Windows work
Everyone moves out of the way quickly when you're laying down the left lane of the interstate
Still gets 18mpg
Doesn't really need a tune-up
The Bad, not going to bullshit here:
Needs Tires
Needs Alignment
Needs Driver-side Mirror replacement
Needs Rear Seat unless you don't really care about the plastic rear seat
Needs Rear Intererior Door Panels unless you don't really care
Needs SEAT BELTS
Needs AC Fixed
Needs dash light replaced
Needs Re-Paint (if you're as picky as me) Maaco has $500 specials all day long for sanding and re-paint. Black is cheap.
Has small weatherstripping holes
Needs pulley on engine replaced, the pulley rattles and makes noise, bearings are worn out
Horn doesn't work because it was hooked up to the siren
No radio, of course
Has rust on roof from being parked under some shitty berry dropping tree that ate the paint away. Just little spots of rust.
When you hit the gas pedal you may shit yourself while accelerating
That's everything.
As stated above, everything listed above would only cost you $1,400, Tires, Repaint, Seat, Panels everything. All it REALLY needs is tires and an alignment if you don't care about the paint. So all it REALLY needs is ~$600.
You don't have to worry about the engine, or the transmission, or drivetrain, suspension, or any mechanical components.
Everything bad I listed can and will be fixed by me in less than 4 weekends if it doesn't sell now, and marked up to a price that you won't appreciate. It's just up here to see the interest in it in the shape that it's in, before I start getting my hands dirty. I will completely go all out on it if it doesn't go now. I have fixed up many, many, many cars in my short life. This is a drop in the bucket, a cakewalk to fix. I put it up dirty, disgusting, and I'll show you what you missed out on 30 days after it doesn't sell. Plenty of cash to burn, plenty of time to look for a clean used seat and door panels on the internet and Chicago junk yards.
Same condition and same era P-71's with 20,000-50,000 more miles are selling for $3,200-5,000+ on here under SOLD listings. My reserve is set where it needs to be, and I think it's fair. It's ready to go.

Now that 2014 is officially in the books, it's time to look ahead. And following our list of the cars we liked best last year, we're now setting our sights at the hot new metal that's coming our way in 2015. Some of these, we've already seen. And some are still set to debut during the 2015 auto show season. But these are the machines that keep us going – the things on the horizon that we're particularly stoked to drive, and drive hard. Jeep Renegade Not the Chevrolet Corvette Z06. Not the Ford Mustang GT350. Not the new John Cooper Works Mini. Nope, I'm looking forward to the adorable, trail-rated Jeep Renegade. And that's because I really, really, really like our long-term Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk. I do not, however, care too much for the Cherokee's looks, and I really don't like its $38,059 price tag. The Renegade Trailhawk, meanwhile, promises much of the same rough-and-tumble character as its big brother, but at what we expect will be a more reasonable price (I'm personally wagering on the baby Jeep's off-road model starting at no more than $23,000). With a 2.4-liter four-cylinder and a nine-speed automatic, it should also be a bit easier to fill than the V6-powered Cherokee. Also, I can't help but love the way the Renegade looks. It's like someone took a Wrangler, squished it by 50 percent and then handed it off to George Clinton for a healthy dose of funk. The interior, with its bright, expressive trims and color schemes should also be a really nice place to spend some time. I'll be attending the Renegade's launch later this month, so I'll have a much shorter wait than my colleagues. Here's hoping the baby Jeep lives up to my expectations. – Brandon Turkus Associate Editor Mazda MX-5 Miata Here's an uncomfortable truth: I'd rather spend a day driving a properly sorted Mazda MX-5 Miata of any generation on a winding road than I would nearly any other vehicle, regardless of power, price or prestige. It's not just that I prize top-down driving and enjoy the Miata's small size because it gives me more road to play with. I just find there's more motoring joy to be had with high-fidelity handling and an uncorrupted car-to-driver communication loop than I do with face-distorting power or grip – let alone valet-stand gravitas. But perhaps most of all, I love Miatas because they can deliver that level of feedback and driver reward at modest speeds that won't put the locals on edge or endanger lives – you can use more of the car more of the time.

Some have suggested that the Bronco's demise was hastened by the fallout from the O.J. trial.
Twenty years ago today, ex-NFL linebacker Al "A.C." Cowlings drove his friend and onetime running back Orenthal James "O.J." Simpson on a parade lap of the Los Angeles highway system and onto an ignoble page of the history books. If you're in your late 20s or older, or a fastidious young student of 1990s American history, you're absolutely aware that Al and O.J.'s steed for the 'chase' was a white Ford Bronco. The white Ford Bronco, even.
