You are bidding to purchase a 1993 Ford LTD CROWN VICTORIA LX 4 door sedan that has been driven on average less than 1,400 miles per year far less than 15,000 the industry average. The mileage is confirmed thru Car Fax,Auto Check, the prior owner and obviously the beautiful condition of the vehicle. These are the kind of miles you would normally find on very pricey 2012 or 2011 models but very rarely on a 1993.

                               ************************************

In these difficult economic times WE FEEL THE FAIREST WAY TO SELL THIS AUTOMOBILE IS TO LET YOU THE BUYER SET THE PRICE ,YES YOU AFTER ALL ISN'T THAT THE BEST WAY TO BUY,YOU PRICE IT?

                                 ***********************************

The Ford Crown Victorias or as they are affectionally called by their many loyal owners ''The Crown Vic'' has been sold for over two generations dating back to 1952 by the Ford Motor Company and has been the number one favorite of 99.9% of all fleet buyers.Known for their reliability, safety, ability to rack up hundreds of thousands of miles, cofortable ride, generous fuel economy (averaging 19 mpg) and down right true value for the dollar. The Crown Vic deserves its place at the head of the class with out a question!!!!!!

                               ***********************************

We find this automobile clean from front to rear and top to bottom with minimal cosmetic imperfections (EG: dings, dimples, scuffs ect.).We see no corrosion on the doors, fenders, panels or underneath. All lenses, trim and moldings are clean and straight. The finish still has that ''New Car'' luster. There are a very fresh looking set of all season steel belted radials riding on the original factory alloys that show no curb or road rash. The unused spare and all jacking hardware are present and stowed properly. The interior is in as close to pristine condition as you are ever likely to find on any vehicle of this vintage. The dash shows no sun fade or degridation. The original headliner is clean and tight with no sagging of the material. The upholstery and carpeting are as crisp and clean as the day this beauty rolled off the showroom floor. It is our opinion that this vehicle has never been smoked in,eaten in or used to carry pets and has obviously spent much of its time garaged. Please understand this is not a show car but we honestly feel it is cleaner that 99.9% of any you might find of this vintage.

                                          ****************************

Mechanically we find this vehicle 100% sound. This vehicle shows no signs of any ''sitting illness'' which is sometimes the case with very low mileage vehicles. It is our opinion that this vehicle has been used on a regular but limited basis. The well proven 4.6L EFI v8 fires to life with the click of the key coming to idle at specs. We see no oil leaks or smoke around the block or from the exhaust. On the drive the acceleration is responsive, the front end is tight and pleasing and the automatic overdrive transmission shifts on point thru the gears. The air conditioner works quietly while producing excellent cooling throughout the cabin. We see no issues with the power windows, power door locks, cruise control, power drivers seat, electric side mirrors, intervall wipers, power trunk release, heat, defrost or safety features. There has recently been a very nice am-fm cd player tastefully and professionally installed. All in all this vehicle performs, drives and handles as you would expect a well cared for 27k mile vehicle to.  If continually cared for by the next fortunate owners they can expect many miles and many years of trouble free service.

                                            *****************************

249 reasons you want to go to Goodwood Revival

Sat, Sep 16 2023

At its most basic, Goodwood Revival is a long weekend worth of car races featuring cars made before 1970. There are lots of those, though, including some pretty great ones all over the world. But nothing is like Goodwood Revival because it's so much more than "just" vintage car racing.  First, you have to look the part. Attendees are strongly encouraged to dress in period clothing from the 1940s, 1950s and 1960s, with a strict dress code enforced should you want to enter the paddock. The goal is to create a more authentic atmosphere to match the cars and the meticulously restored and recreated paddocks, grandstands and other facilities of the reborn Goodwood circuit. Now, the dress code was relaxed this year since the Saturday was literally the hottest Sept. 9 on record in that part of England, and the organizers didn't want people dropping dead because they needed to wear an ascot. Some people definitely took the "relaxed" bit too far, but there was still plenty of atmosphere maintained. It really does make a big difference, as those "relaxed" individuals were often akin to seeing a Starbucks cup in a scene from "Game of Thrones."  You can see what I came up with below along with former Autoblog editor Reese Counts and various other Goodwood attendees. Second, there's the parking lot. But I'll let this entire separate post detail that. Third, there's the enormous carnival-like area featuring vintage-looking rides and various boutiques. Both of those are on the outside portion of the track, and honestly, you could easily just spend your entire day in the parking lot and carnival/shopping area without even crossing over into the circuit area. There you'll find more shops, food and drink opportunities, plus obviously, race car paddocks and the track itself.  Fourth, there are airplanes! I heard there are fewer than in the past, but they're there and they're cool. The Goodwood circuit started out life as the perimeter road around the World War II airfield RAF Westhampnett.  Fifth, with all of the above, Goodwood Revival really is fun for the whole family. It isn't just a bunch of old guys sitting around in lawn chairs. There are plenty of women and adorably dressed children, including babies in vintage prams. It's also not an event that's exclusively for the uber rich, even if they are certainly in full force given who has the sort of money needed to go vintage racing.

Ford fights back against patent trolls

Fri, Feb 13 2015

Some people are just awful. Some organizations are just as awful. And when those people join those organizations, we get stories like this one, where Ford has spent the past several years combatting so-called patent trolls. According to Automotive News, these malicious organizations have filed over a dozen lawsuits against the company since 2012. They work by purchasing patents, only to later accuse companies of misusing intellectual property, despite the fact that the so-called patent assertion companies never actually, you know, do anything with said intellectual property. AN reports that both Hyundai and Toyota have been victimized by these companies, with the former forced to pay $11.5 million to a company called Clear With Computers. Toyota, meanwhile, settled with Paice LLC, over its hybrid tech. The world's largest automaker agreed to pay $5 million, on top of $98 for every hybrid it sold (if the terms of the deal included each of the roughly 1.5 million hybrids Toyota sold since 2000, the company would have owed $147 million). Including the previous couple of examples, AN reports 107 suits were filed against automakers last year alone. But Ford is taking action to prevent further troubles... kind of. The company has signed on with a firm called RPX, in what sounds strangely like a protection racket. Automakers like Ford pay RPX around $1.5 million each year for access to its catalog of patents, which it spent nearly $1 billion building. "We take the protection and licensing of patented innovations very seriously," Ford told AN via email. "And as many smart businesses are doing, we are taking proactive steps to protect against those seeking patent infringement litigation." What are your thoughts on this? Should this patent business be better managed? Is it reasonable that companies purchase patents only to file suit against the companies that build actual products? Have your say in Comments.

Ford UK exec says EVs are a good way to lose a fortune

Wed, Mar 19 2014

Stateside, Ford execs are quick to point out the automaker's expansion in the plug-in sector. And despite a minimal presence in the pure EV space, the Blue Oval has been promoting its plug-in vehicles as part of an overall effort to boost fleetwide fuel economy. Too bad the company's UK chief didn't get the memo. There's "no point in us getting behind [EVs] and losing a fortune" - Ford's Mark Ovenden Mark Ovenden, speaking rather frankly at the Geneva Motor Show recently, said he didn't have real high hopes for substantial electric-vehicle adoption and said the company's money was better spent on smaller gas- and diesel-powered engines, the UK's Daily Mail says. Ovenden said of EV development that there was "no point in us getting behind it and losing a fortune," adding that his goal was to have variants of Ford's EcoBoost engine in 40 percent of the company's vehicles. Ford has about a 15-percent market share in the UK. The UK doesn't appear to be as kind to the EV as the US. Nissan last year cut the price of its all-electric Leaf there last year by about $4,000, while the company rolled out a promotion for the Leaf late last year, including allowing Leaf drivers to borrow a gas- or diesel-powered Nissan for free for as long as two weeks a year during the first three years of Leaf ownership. In the US, Ford sold just 229 Ford Focus Electrics during the first two months of the year after moving 1,738 units in 2013.
