This is one of the nicest examples of it's kind available anywhere. This is a gorgeous, always unmarked United States Federal Government unit that is just out of service with the Federal Bureau of Investigation. It is finished in Smokestone Clearcoat Metallic, one of the most beautiful and rare colors available on the Crown Victoria. If you are searching for the ultimate Crown Victoria Police Interceptor, here you go...

You are viewing an absolutely beautiful, very low-mileage, always unmarked, loaded 2009 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor with the coveted "Street Appearance Package". Recently out of service from United States Federal Government, Federal Bureau of Investigation, where it was assigned to one agent for it's entire life, with only 36,237 actual, documented miles on it. This is a beautiful example of a very rare, hard to find car in a very rare and very desirable color.

The original finish is absolutely beautiful and this vehicle has an absolutely spotless Carfax report. It has never been involved in any accidents and has never had any paintwork or damage repaired.

This unit has never been in regular police service and has never had a lightbar or decals installed..

This unit includes all of the options you would expect...power adjustable pedals, power windows, power locks, factory auxiliary police dome lamp, power trunk release, factory AM/FM/CD stereo, cruise control, power split-bench velour cloth front and rear seating w/dual fold-down center armrests and a heavy-duty, 8.8" 3.27 ratio rear differential. These items, of course, are just the beginning of the list of equipment on this car.

In my years of buying and selling police vehicles, I have had very few cars that come close to the condition of these units, they are extremely well maintained, actually over-maintained, and typically need no repairs. This was a one-driver car, assigned to one federal agent throughout the entire life of the car. For those of you who know, that makes all of the difference in the world when it comes to how the cars are maintained and treated. It has NEVER been smoked in, looks as close to new as you will find and has virtually zero wear on the interior, even on the seating. The rear seat appears to have never been used.

It is finished in the hard to find factory Smokestone Clearcoat Metallic finish with Dark Charcoal interior. This is one of the most beautiful colors available on a Crown Victoria. With only 36,237 actual, original miles on it, the exterior is beautiful and the interior is very nice. It has been extremely well-maintained and it runs, drives and handles as close to new as you will ever find. It has never been abused and it looks very nice.

All of the factory manuals are included with the vehicle, and are in place in the glove box.

The trunk compartment is extremely clean, and the original full size spare tire is in place.

This unit is also equipped with, of course, the full "Police Interceptor" package which includes the 4.6-liter H.O. engine, 4-speed overdrive heavy-duty transmission, factory-mounted Unity 6" driver's side spotlight, 3.27 rear differential, lateral bow (roof) reinforcement, Good Year Eagle RS-A 235-55-17 police-spec, ultra-high performance radials that are in excellent condition and mounted on the factory, heavy-duty, 17" vented police wheels with full, factory deluxe wheel covers, stainless-steel dual exhaust with factory crossover pipe, police-only lightweight balanced aluminum driveshaft, special police-spec heavy-duty frame, 4-wheel disc brakes, severe-duty suspension, heavy-duty cooling, certified 140-mph speedometer, tachometer, idle hour meter and much, much more.

For those of you who know Crown Victorias, you are probably already aware that the 2004-2011 models are the years to have...2004 was the first year for the higher-horsepower engine.

All Crown Victorias produced from 2004-onward utilized the new, improved, 250-horsepower 4.6 liter V8 engine and are the fastest Crown Victorias produced due to many changes that were made, mainly in the intake system. Previously, the Police Interceptor produced 239 horsepower, but the 2004-newer Police Interceptor increased that number to 250 horsepower due to the addition of a new "Marauder" air intake setup. This included a new airbox that resembles the Mercury Marauder airbox (raised airbox lid, deeper bottom), with a new, larger, integrated 80 mm (3.1 in) mass airflow (MAF) sensor that is part of the airbox lid. This allows for much more precise flow calibration and reduces the chances of air leakage. The P71 zip tube (the flexible rubber hose between the throttle body and MAF outlet) is also used to reduce NVH (noise, vibration, and harshness) as well as transfer air from the airbox to the throttle body with minimal flow resistance.

Beginning in 2008, all Crown Victoria Police Interceptors were "flex-fuel capable", meaning they will run on either regular gasoline or E-85 ethanol blend. Most importantly, they all received an upgraded fuel delivery system, with improved, longer-lasting seals, lines, gaskets and pumps. The benefit of owning a 2008-up is that the fuel system will last much longer before needing any type of maintenance.

Crown Victorias like this one are becoming nearly extinct, so here's your opportunity if you've been looking for one of the nicest you will find in a rare and desirable color combination with ultra-low mileage.

This unit is gorgeous inside and out and is clean under the hood as well...the engine compartment is very nice (please see the pictures). I do not slather motors with Armor All to make them appear nicer, or newer, than they are. The picture of this engine compartment is exactly as it was when the car was purchased...extremely clean.

These are the Crown Victorias aficionados lust after, and this is an unmolested example. It is very responsive, smooth-shifting and, of course, very fast.

This is a factory, all Smokestone Metallic car, not a re-painted color change like you will see for sale elsewhere.

This unit is in excellent overall condition, has been very well-maintained and has little of the normal wear and tear you would expect to find on a used police vehicle. This vehicle, as most used police vehicles do, will have imperfections...this typically includes; scratches, chips, nicks, dings, etc....that being said, this car has no known mechanical defects and it runs and drives excellent. Please, keep in mind, we strive to find the nicest used vehicles possible, but they are still used vehicles.

This car drives as close to new as you will ever find. It is a very nice driving, tight unit...not a beat-up police car. It has never been used for any type of normal police or patrol work.

DON'T PASS THIS ONE UP, 2009 MODELS ARE VERY, VERY HARD TO FIND AND I DOUBT YOU WILL SEE ANOTHER FOR SALE IN THE NEAR FUTURE IN THIS CONDITION WITH THIS LOW OF MILEAGE, IF AT ALL.

This 2009 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor will sell to the high bidder at the end of the auction, providing the low reserve is met. Please complete all inspections BEFORE bidding...if you win the auction, you own the vehicle.

Because of increasing expenses in every regard, we have been forced to raise our fees by $50, this is the first time in ten years that we have done this, so hopefully you will understand. There will be a $175 documentation fee and a $15 title fee added to each sale, these will be the ONLY additional fees you will be responsible for, unless you reside in the state of Ohio, in which case you will need to pay the proper amount of sales tax, based on the current rate for the county in which you reside. Temporary 30-day plate and registration is also available for $18.50. We do not charge any additional fees and there are no hidden charges. Most sellers are charging double this amount currently.

I welcome any and all questions you might have prior to bidding on this Crown Victoria. I do reserve the right to end the auction early if the vehicle sells locally prior to the end of auction (please call if you like).

I am a law-enforcement officer as well and as such, work long hours so you are free to call me as late in the evening as you like. I can be reached anytime at (614) 893-3857. I will take calls 24/7 up until the end of the auction.

Winning bidder agrees to forward a 25% partial payment (unless a lesser amount is agreed upon PRIOR to the end of the auction) at end of auction via direct bank wire transfer or by overnighted cashier's check, money order or certified funds. Balance will be due within seven days of end of auction or at time of pick up or delivery, whichever comes first. I will help in any way possible to arrange transportation. I can store the vehicle for up to 90 days, until pick up can be arranged, as long as it's paid for in full.

I may be able to deliver this vehicle personally, depending on your location, at a reduced rate.

I have been buying, selling and driving unique, specialty vehicles for over ten years now and take pride in offering only low-mileage vehicles that are not "run of the mill", beat-up cars and trucks. I specialize in the hard to obtain cars, SUV's and trucks, Dodge Hemi Charger, Ram 5.9 Cummins and Ford 7.3 Powerstroke Diesel trucks, Chevrolet Impala and Caprice 9C1 and 9C3 police vehicles, collectible and rare cars, trucks and vans. If there are any questions at all, again, please don't hesitate to call me at (614) 893-3857. I will answer all e-mails as quickly as possible. Thanks and good luck!

Because of people who bid and do not contact me or pay, I am being forced to implicate a rule pertaining to low-feedback bidders. ANY BIDDER WHO BIDS, WITH A FEEDBACK OF 5 OR LESS, WILL HAVE THEIR BID RETRACTED IMMEDIATELY unless they contact me first, prior to bidding. I hope everyone understands, and I thank our hundreds of happy customers, but a few bad apples have spoiled the proverbial bunch. Thanks for understanding.

Please remember, this is a used government vehicle and, although it is as close to it as possible, it is not new. It is, however, in better condition than most you will see. As such, it will have minor flaws consistent with the miles and age of the vehicle, and with government use. That being said, it is in beautiful shape and runs & looks excellent. It is not what you would typically expect, or what you will find elsewhere for sale. Please, if you want to come and look at it, do so BEFORE bidding...or call me, as always, at 614-893-3857 or e-mail me and I will answer any questions you may have. Thanks!

Compact SUV Comparison: Specs, pics and reviews of every brand's crossover

Wed, Jul 25 2018

Honda CR-V vs Toyota RAV4. Chevy Equinox vs Ford Escape. Mazda CX-5 vs Subaru Forester. Whichever combinations of compact crossover SUV you're considering, there's probably a comparison test or chart out there to read. Heck, you can even create a three-car comparison yourself here at Autoblog. However, if you want a bunch of that information all in one convenient place, well, here it is. Our mega comparison of specs, features and photos of compact SUV entries from every mainstream manufacturer that sells them. That includes the 2018 Chevrolet Equinox, 2018 Ford Escape, 2018 GMC Terrain, 2018 Honda CR-V, 2018 Hyundai Tucson, 2019 Jeep Cherokee (it's already on sale with notable changes from 2018), 2018 Jeep Compass, 2018 Kia Sportage, 2018 Mazda CX-5, 2018 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross (none of Mitsu's SUVs are perfect fits for this segment, so we deemed the MEC the most competitive fit), 2018 Nissan Rogue, 2018 Subaru Forester, 2018 Toyota RAV4 and 2018 Volkswagen Tiguan. We can update this comparison as more information about 2019 models is released, most notably the Forester and RAV4. Now, there are certainly some models that are smaller (Nissan Rogue Sport) or larger (Kia Sorento) that could also be considered, but we figured it was wise to stick with those in this sweet spot of comparable size and price. We also included links to Autoblog reviews, buying guides and smaller comparisons. Engines and Transmissions With rare exception, this segment features four-cylinder power. Sometimes it's turbocharged, often its not, but standard engine outputs are generally in the same ballpark. Therefore, we'd recommend focusing on torque output, as it's what will make a difference around town or when passing, and weighing that versus fuel economy (the Chevy Equinox, GMC Terrain, Honda CR-V and Mazda CX-5 make particularly strong cases in this regard). Many drivers aren't too fond of continuously variable transmissions (CVT), either, so that's another thing to consider and note during a test drive. As you can see, several models are available with performance upgrades. Besides the Jeep Cherokee's available V6, all are more powerful turbocharged four-cylinder engines. The exception to this would be the Honda CR-V and Ford Escape, as their 1.5-liter turbo engines don't prioritize performance. Instead, they serve as overall upgrades to the base naturally aspirated engines standard on only their base trim levels (CR-V LX and Escape S).

Ford pits The Stig against Gran Turismo 6 in Focus ST Goodwood run

Thu, 03 Jul 2014

The Goodwood Festival of Speed is one of the world great automotive gatherings. So, it was the perfect event for Ford to give the refreshed 2015 Focus ST its world debut in front of a loving public. It even surprised us with a new diesel-powered version, as well.
The Blue Oval really put its focus on making the ST a better driver for this refresh. It left its 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder alone to still pump out a respectable 252 horsepower and 270 pound-feet of torque. The changes like a retuned front suspension, electric power steering and improved interior made the hot hatch an even better place to spend time behind the wheel.
To prove that the Focus ST is still as potent as ever, Ford set up a one-on-one race up the Goodwood Hill. But instead of putting the two cars side-by-side, former Stig from Top Gear UK, Ben Collins, piloted the real model up the course, and his rival drove the virtual version in Gran Turismo 6. The two hot hatches set off at the same time to see whether reality could beat the virtual world, and the finish was actually extremely close. Scroll down to watch the video and find out the winner of this battle at Goodwood.

United States drivers buying fewer Mexican-made cars

Tue, May 10 2016

Crossovers and pickup trucks are not only growing in market share, they're also more profitable than cars. A crossover on the same platform as a sedan retails for thousands more, despite similar components. It's one of the reasons we've seen automakers rapidly shifting production of their sedans and hatchbacks to Mexico, where cheap labor preserves the thin profit margins on these inexpensive vehicles. But as the market continues to shift in the United States, Mexico is getting burned by its lack of product diversity. The country's auto exports, which are heavy on cars, suffered a 16-percent drop last month, Automotive News reports. In total, year-over-year exports fell from 233,515 to 197,020 last month, while year-to-date exports are down by 7.4 percent, from 922,029 to 854,118. The number one culprit? America – which usually accounts for 75 percent of Mexico's exports – and its appetite for crossovers and pickup trucks bolstered by cheap gas prices. While Mexico does build some light truck models – AN specifically calls out the Ram 2500, Honda HR-V, GMC Sierra, and Toyota Tacoma as export leaders – the vast majority of vehicles rolling out of its factories are sedans and hatchbacks. In fact, the three biggest drops in Mexican exports came from companies whose south of the border factories only build cars – Ford (Fusion/Lincoln MKZ and Fiesta), Mazda (Mazda3), and Volkswagen (Golf and Jetta). Mexican Automotive Industry Association President Eduardo Solis told AN the export shortfall will likely be sorted out sooner rather than later, thanks to a pair of new factories – a Kia car factory and an Audi SUV plant – that are coming online by year's end. The two facilities will add around 100,000 vehicles to the country's export totals, which Solis said should leave the industry on the verge of breaking another export record in 2016. But how sustainable will these record-breaking years be? Slapping an "Hecho en Mexico" sticker on a new German SUV won't be enough to change the fact that Mexico's product mix is tilted too heavily towards body styles that are not growing in volume. Mexico's record-breaking export years probably aren't at an end, but we'd argue they're certainly under threat.
