For sale is a 2009 Ford Crown Victoria P71 with 78,440 miles. The P71 is the Police Interceptor package offered by Ford with the heavy duty suspension and tuned up V8. This car came from the city of Glendale in S. California and has very low miles for a former patrol car. The car is in solid condition mechanically with newer tires and refreshed components (I installed a new grill, new headlights & taillight lenses, added a center console, tinted windows, and a Sony stereo head unit with USB interface). The car also has bullet-proof front doors (Produced by BLS Textiles, the panels were a composite mesh of fiber, resin, and Kevlar and were offered primarily for the front doors to provide "stage III" protection), a $2,400 package offered by Ford, which makes the front doors heavy! As you can see, it still has the A-pillar spotlights still installed as well as the bull bar. The car was given new back seats as well and has a vinyl lined for, which makes for easy cleaning!

There are a few glitches that the car has... 1. There's a ticking noise coming from the steering column from time to time, 2. The front speakers don't work, 3. small cutout on the headliner from the onboard camera, but nothing that effects the car. The paint work is not immaculate... I would call it more of a black semi-gloss eggshell finish. You can see where some of the bondo work was done, but it doesn't really matter... There's also only one key and no spare tire, but I'll include the phone holder and the Bluetooth speaker in the deal!

This car is no jalopy, but she's no beauty queen either (or even a contestant), but she is feared on the road!

Ken Block is at it again in Gymkhana 6

Mon, 11 Nov 2013

If there's one thing we'll say about Ken Block and his latest installment in the Gymkhana family, it's that it's far more structured than previous videos, but that doesn't mean it skimps on the entertainment. Block is on a purpose-built course which was touted as "The... Ultimate... Gymkhana... Grid... Course" in last week's preview. Unlike Gymkhana 5, which took placed on closed streets in San Francisco, this course seems much more compact.
Block has an entire array of challenges to tackle in his 650-horsepower Ford Fiesta ST, and none of them look particularly easy. In fact, we'd argue that Gymkhana 6's grid course requires much more precise driving that previous titles. There are Segways, Lamborghinis and massive pieces of construction equipment that all must be dealt with.
We've got the entire 6:28 of Gymkhana madness for you down below. Scroll down for the video and then hit Comments and let us know how this installment compares to previous Block works.

Ford investing $500M in engine plant for 2.7L EcoBoost production

Sun, 30 Mar 2014

Ohio is a hot area for Ford at the moment with the announcement just a few weeks ago that production of the next-generation F-650/F-750 medium-duty trucks would move from Mexico to the Ohio Assembly Plant in Avon Lake, Ohio. Now, Ford is investing $500 million to hire 300 workers at its Lima Engine Plant in Lima, Ohio, to add production of the twin-turbo 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 for the 2015 F-150.
The latest investment will be used to add a new flexible engine assembly system and renovate 700,000 square feet of the plant for machining and assembly areas. The Lima factory already builds Ford's 3.5-liter and 3.7-liter Duratec V6 engines. The plant opened in 1957, and it's on track to build its 40 millionth engine later this year.
Ford claims that the 2.7-liter EcoBoost will offer V8 performance with better efficiency in the F-150. It comes standard with intelligent stop/start that doesn't activate when the truck is towing or in four-wheel drive, and it's made from a combination of compacted graphite iron and aluminum for low weight and high strength. The company says that V6 engines have already proven popular in the F-150 with 57 percent of trucks in 2014 being equipped with either the naturally aspirated 3.7-liter or turbocharged 3.5-liter EcoBoost engines.

Ford announces 2014 F-150 SVT Raptor Special Edition

Tue, 09 Apr 2013

Ford has pulled the wraps off its anticipated 2014 F-150 SVT Raptor Special Edition model, a new variant of the popular street-legal off-road specialist. In a nutshell, the "special" is all cosmetic - there are no mechanical upgrades to the truck and its 6.2-liter V8 (411 horsepower and 434 pound-feet of torque), Torsen limited-slip differential, beadlock-capable wheels and internal triple-bypass FOX Racing Shox dampers all remain untouched.
The SVT Raptor Special Edition, which adds cosmetic enhancements to the existing Luxury Package, will be offered in Ruby Red Metallic and Tuxedo Black Metallic with box-side graphics. The interior upgrades include Brick Red seat bolsters (with black inserts), cloth honeycomb highlights and a console top finish panel.
As of now, Ford has only release a couple pictures of the Special Edition model. But check back later, as we will update the gallery when additional high-res images are released later today, and be sure to peruse the press release below for all the details.
