If you are searching for a beautiful, low mileage, unmarked Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor...here's one of the nicest examples of it's kind available anywhere. This is a gorgeous United States Federal Government unit that is just out of service. This car is absolutely as spotless underneath as it is on top. It is finished in Silver Grey Metallic Clearcoat, code "TN" (this is a very rare color, and is slightly darker than the more common "Silver Birch Metallic"), one of the most beautiful and hard to find colors available on the Crown Victoria. If you are searching for the ultimate Crown Victoria Police Interceptor, here you go...
You are viewing an absolutely beautiful, very low-mileage, very low idle hours, always unmarked, loaded 2008 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor. Recently out of service from United States Federal Government in Virginia, where it was assigned to one agent for it's entire life, with only 42,944 actual, documented miles on it. This is a beautiful example of a very rare, hard to find car in a very rare and very desirable color. The paint and finish is extremely nice on this unit. This unit includes all of the options you would expect...factory Unity 6" spotlight, factory auxiliary police dome lamp, factory AM/FM/CD stereo, optional side airbags, cruise control, cloth front bucket seating w/factory carpeting and carpeted floormats and a heavy-duty, 8.8", 3.27 ratio rear differential. These items, of course, are just the beginning of the list of equipment on this car. In my years of buying and selling police vehicles, I have had very few cars that come close to the condition of these units, they are extremely well maintained, actually over-maintained, and typically need no repairs. This was a one-driver car, assigned to one federal agent throughout the entire life of the car. For those of you who know, that makes all of the difference in the world when it comes to how the cars are maintained and treated. It has NEVER been smoked in, looks as close to new as you will find and has virtually zero wear on the interior, even on the seating. The rear seat appears to have never been used. All of the factory manuals are included with the vehicle, and are in place in the glove box. The trunk compartment is extremely clean, and the full size spare tire and jack are in place. This unit is also equipped with, of course, the full "Police Interceptor" package which includes the 4.6-liter H.O. engine, 4-speed overdrive heavy-duty transmission, 3.27 rear differential, lateral bow (roof) reinforcement, Good Year Eagle RS-A 235-55-17 police-spec, ultra-high performance radials that are in excellent condition and mounted on the factory, heavy-duty, 17" vented police wheels with full, factory deluxe wheel covers, stainless-steel dual exhaust with factory crossover pipe, police-only lightweight balanced aluminum driveshaft, special police-spec heavy-duty frame, 4-wheel disc brakes, severe-duty suspension, heavy-duty cooling, certified 140-mph speedometer, tachometer, idle hour meter and much, much more. For those of you who know Crown Victorias, you are probably already aware that the 2004-2011 models are the years to have...2004 was the first year for the higher-horsepower engine. All Crown Victorias produced from 2004-onward utilized the new, improved, 250-horsepower 4.6 liter V8 engine and are the fastest Crown Victorias produced due to many changes that were made, mainly in the intake system. Previously, the Police Interceptor produced 239 horsepower, but the 2004-newer Police Interceptor increased that number to 250 horsepower due to the addition of a new "Marauder" air intake setup. This included a new airbox that resembles the Mercury Marauder airbox (raised airbox lid, deeper bottom), with a new, larger, integrated 80 mm (3.1 in) mass airflow (MAF) sensor that is part of the airbox lid. This allows for much more precise flow calibration and reduces the chances of air leakage. The P71 zip tube (the flexible rubber hose between the throttle body and MAF outlet) is also used to reduce NVH (noise, vibration, and harshness) as well as transfer air from the airbox to the throttle body with minimal flow resistance.
Crown Victorias like this one are becoming nearly extinct, so here's your opportunity if you've been looking for one of the nicest you will find in a rare and desirable color combination with low mileage and low idle hours. These are the Crown Victorias aficionados lust after, and this is an unmolested example. It is very responsive, smooth-shifting and, of course, very fast. This unit is in excellent overall condition, has been very well-maintained and has little of the normal wear and tear you would expect to find on a used police vehicle. This vehicle, as most used police vehicles do, will have imperfections...this typically includes; scratches, chips, nicks, dings, etc....that being said, this car has no known mechanical defects and it runs and drives excellent. Please, keep in mind, we strive to find the nicest used vehicles possible, but they are still used vehicles. This 2008 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor will sell to the high bidder at the end of the auction, providing the low reserve is met. Please complete all inspections BEFORE bidding...if you win the auction, you own the vehicle. I am a law-enforcement officer as well and as such, work long hours so you are free to call me as late in the evening as you like. I can be reached anytime at (614) 893-3857. I will take calls 24/7 up until the end of the auction. |

Ford recalling 390,000 cars over door latch woes
Fri, Apr 24 2015Ford is recalling certain Fiesta, Fusion and Lincoln MKZ vehicles due to faulty door latches, marking the latest in what seems to be a recurring issue for the Blue Oval. This is the third door latch recall from Ford in 2015, following a 213,000-unit recall in March and a 205,000-unit recall in January. This one, however, is significantly larger. A total of 390,000 units are affected, including Fusions and MKZs from model years 2013 and 2014, as well as Fiestas from model years 2012 to 2014. A "broken pawl spring tab" is the culprit, potentially keeping doors from latching shut. According to Ford, even if the door does shut, it could come open again without warning. The affected Fiestas were built between February 1, 2012 and May 31, 2013 at the Cuautitlan, Mexico factory. The Fusion and MKZ siblings, meanwhile, were screwed together at Hermosillo Assembly in Mexico between July 1, 2012 to May 31, 2013. Ford is aware of three minor reports of door malfunctions. In two cases, the door bounced back open, quite literally hitting drivers on their way out. In the third case, a door swung open of its own accord while a driver was attempting to park, hitting another vehicle. Ford will notify owners, who will need to report into dealers to have all four latches replaced. Scroll down for the official press release. Related Video: APR 24, 2015 | DEARBORN, MICH. FORD MOTOR COMPANY ISSUES SAFETY RECALL IN NORTH AMERICA FOR DOOR LATCH ISSUE ON FORD FIESTA AND FUSION, LINCOLN MKZ Ford Motor Company is issuing a safety recall for approximately 390,000 2012-2014 Ford Fiesta and 2013-2014 Ford Fusion and Lincoln MKZ vehicles for a door latch issue. The door latch in these vehicles may experience a broken pawl spring tab, which typically results in a condition where the door will not latch. If a customer is then able to latch the door, there is potential the door may unlatch while driving, increasing the risk of injury. Ford is aware of two allegations of soreness resulting from an unlatched door bouncing back when the customer attempted to close it, and one accident allegation when an unlatched door swung open and struck an adjacent vehicle as the driver was pulling into a parking space. Affected vehicles include certain 2012-2014 Ford Fiesta vehicles built at Cuautitlan Assembly Plant, Feb.
New Ford dedicated hybrid due in 2018, will it fare better than C-Max?
Fri, Aug 22 2014Everyone likes to go after the champ. When it comes to fuel economy, that means taking on the Prius, which is something that automakers not named Toyota have been trying to do for years. Just because no one has been able to beat the Prius for fuel economy numbers isn't stopping them from trying. Hyundai was just caught with a potential Prius-fighter and now we have news that Ford is joining the party. Well, is going to join again. The last time Ford said it was going to challenge the Prius, it didn't go quite as planned. The C-Max hybrid was heavily hyped as a Prius-beater and was originally rated at 47 miles per gallon. Of course, it later needed to be recalculated to just 40 mpg and sales tanked. So, it's back to the Blue Oval drawing board, according to Automotive News, which is reporting that Ford is readying a brand new gas-electric hybrid due in 2018 as a 2019 model year vehicle. A plug-in version is in the works, too, and the car will reportedly share a platform with the upcoming next-gen Focus and Escape models. About those C-Max sales. They have not been stellar for the C-Max hybrid, which started strong but suffered when the reality of the lower fuel economy was realized. So far in 2014 (through the end of July), Ford has sold 11,685 gas-electric models and another 4,759 plug-in Energi versions. The trend for the standard C-Max is downward (from 20,125 during the same time frame in 2013) and upward for the plug-in version (2,915 in the first seven months of 2013).
