2007 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor, P71, EX Sergeant's Vehicle, 133K original miles with only 70 idle hrs, like new conditions, drives like new everything works in the car and is missing nothing, California car, no rust. The car was a black/white and it has been painted all black by professionals inside and out a $1,300 job - 2 stage black with clear to give the car that slick wet look. Has no scratches at all, no door dings what so ever, no holes anywhere on the body of t the car. The paint is new, sharp and shinny and I give it a 100 out of 100. The car literally looks new, (2) working spotlights, clear head lights, vinyl floors, a very nice, strong, tight and quiet ride, Cold A/C, heather works, defroster works fine, AM/FM stereo, no cruise control, all seat belts and buckles in place, all (4) windows and doors fully operational, fresh new window tint (dark rear only) tires are almost new all around (235/55/17 by GOODYEAR RSA), CLEAN TITLE - NO ACCIDENTS, everything works in the car. Mechanically: Folks, whom ever was assigned to this unit really took care of it. I couldn't find any red flags or defects.
At 133K, this car needs nothing but fuel to keep it going. As per my inspection and observation I can tell you that the battery, alternator, A/C hoses, master cylinder, power steering hoses, drive-shaft seal, brakes all around, serpentine belt and tensioner are all new replaced by the department. The transmission also appeared to have been replaced by the department but I still went ahead and serviced it, replaced the fluid (MERCON V) and transmission filter. There are no noises coming from the engine or transmission, no vibration or pulling on the steering wheel/tires, oil change + filter, Z5 axle. I've also replaced the spark plugs (MOTORCRAFT SP493 PLATINUM) coils are all in good shape, air filter is good, fuel filter looks new.. This vehicle is a BULLET!! All just fully serviced. No leaks, no overheating, transmission shift smoothly and strong as it should, suspension nice and tight.. NICE AND FAST!!!

Interior: Has vinyl floors, ashtray assembly has been installed. Nice seats, nice and clean.detail In-N-Out. (SEE PICTURES)

NHTSA and Ford investigating steering issues in Crown Vic, Grand Marquis and Marauder

Fri, 11 Jul 2014

There may be more steering woes for the Ford Crown Victoria. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has opened a preliminary evaluation into the Crown Vic and Mercury Grand Marquis from the 2004 to 2007 model years and the Mercury Marauder for the 2004 and 2005 model years because the steering shaft can jam. The issue could potentially affect an estimated 500,000 vehicles.
According to the regulator, there is a possibility that the driver's side heat shield for the exhaust manifold can rust, dislodge, and then wedge into the steering shaft. If this occurs, it leads to a situation where the driver can no longer control the car.
NHTSA has received five complaints of this happening, including one alleged case with an injury. In that situation, the car was driving onto the highway, lost control and rolled over. One occupant was hurt in the accident.

Toyota, Ford decide to end hybrid collaboration before it starts

Tue, 23 Jul 2013

Not all so-called Memorandum of Understanding pacts end in actual collaborations. For instance, after a two-year "feasibility study," Toyota and Ford have just announced that they will not be developing hybrid systems for use in light trucks and SUVs as previously planned, and the two automakers will instead continue to develop their own hybrid technology independently.
The would-be collaboration was first announced in August of 2011, and would have seen a rear-wheel-drive hybrid platform that would "improve the efficiency of trucks and SUVs while still allowing them to be driven in the way customers expect," according to our initial post on the topic.
Keep in mind that this announcement isn't to say we shouldn't expect hybrid pickups and SUVs from the two automakers, but that they probably aren't coming very soon - Ford says it will have a system "before the end of this decade" and we haven't heard much from Toyota on the hybrid truck front since the 2008 A-BAT Concept (pictured above) - and that they will not share any components between them (and they never have, for what it's worth).

Toyota again claims Corolla outsold Focus worldwide

Wed, 10 Apr 2013

Toyota isn't convinced the Ford Focus was the best-selling nameplate globally last year. Bloomberg reports that for the second time in seven months, both Toyota and Ford are laying claim to the title. Ford cites R.L. Polk & Co. data that says the automaker moved some 1.02 million Focus models in 2012 compared to just 872,774 Toyota Corolla units. But Toyota says the actual figure is closer to 1.16 million Corolla models.
Last year, Ford said it took the sales crown through the fist half of 2012 based on information from IHS Automotive, but Toyota pointed out those numbers left out models like the Corolla-based Matrix and Auris, as well as the Corolla Fielder and Scion xB-based Corolla Rumion. Whether or not Toyota's belief that all these cars should be counted in the Corolla bucket is accurate or not is seemingly up for debate... as is the question of why it matters so much to both parties.
This time around, Ford is holding the line that the Focus is the "best-selling nameplate," with Erich Merkle, a US sales analyst with Ford saying the company's figure is, "a pure number that is verified by a third party." Toyota, meanwhile, has requested clarification from Polk.
