Up for sale is a 2006 Ford Crown Victoria P71 police package with low 99,800 miles on it. Im the second owner....the first was the town of Southborough,MA. It exited fleet service just over a year ago. I then purchased from a local dealer and have used the car as a commuter even since and its never let me down. The car was painted dark shadow grey before I purchased it which is not its original color as the door jams....etc are white. I removed the spotlight when I purchased and no longer have it.

Anything the car needed since Ive owned it I replaced and didn't put anything off. Its received new spark plugs, front brake pads, replaced front brake backing plate rivots, replaced exhaust clamps, replaced transmission front seal, replaced starter... replaced oil pan...a few weeks back I brought to the local ford dealer where they replaced the steering shaft and completed a fully synthetic oil change...while I was there they looked the car over and noted a few things...it needed front lower ball joints....had a small section of tranny line leaking and the airbox was distorted and allowing unfiltered air in. All of which I addressed....left and front lower ball joints were just replaced....transmission line section was replaced....the airbox was realigned and new air filter was installed. Last November I replaced all 4 tires with a set of Goodyear RSA police rated tires that had 90% tread remaining. Id guess they have at least 80% still remaining. I also purchased a full size spare tire and put a Goodyear RSA matching tire on that as well. The hour meter on the car reads around 4400. I have a clean title in hand.

The car starts and runs great....drives down the road straight without vibration or rattles and stops and shifts as it should. While I have only used the car for commuting the first owner was a small town police department and it was in service with them for the first several years. I still have the car on the road as a daily drive so mileage will continue to increase. Overall I would call the car in good shape for its history but minor imperfections in the paint....scratches dings etc can be expected. The interior has cloth seats in front and vinyl seat in rear....few old screw holes in dash....couple cut out holes in headliner from aux light. The car has power windows and locks. Bought an awd drive car to commute with is reason for sale.

The car is located in central Massachusetts....I have described the car and its condition to the best of my ability....please feel free to inspect before bidding/purchasing. I have no problem having a mechanic inspect the car around my location but this is on your expense. As with most used cars this vehicle is being sold in as is condition with no warranty expressed or implied. There are no guarantees of vehicle longevity or ability to pass inspection in your state. If you need anymore information or picture in your decision making contact me its not a problem. Im not interested in trades of any kind. All payment must be cleared in my possession prior to me releasing the title.

Ford, Toyota clean up in Best Car For The Money Awards

Fri, 22 Feb 2013

The U.S. News Best Cars for the Money Awards picks winners by looking at the average transaction price, five-year total cost of ownership, the regard a car has from the automotive press, reliability figures from J.D. Power and Associates and safety data from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. The result, according to the magazine, is "the best combination of critical acclaim and long-term value."
Ford nabbed six of the 21 categories that received awards this year, the Focus, Fusion, Fusion Hybrid, Taurus, Escape and Edge getting trophies. Toyota and its Lexus and Scion sub-brands took another five, the Tacoma and Tundra owning the two categories given to pickup trucks. The other ten awards were split between Honda with three, Buick with two, and one each for Subaru, BMW, Hyundai, Chevrolet and Mazda.

Ford will probably never offer two RS models at the same time

Mon, 18 Mar 2013

Autocar has some sour news for fans of go-fast Ford products. According to Roelant de Waard, Ford's president of marketing in Europe, the automaker will probably never offer more than one RS performance model for sale at the same time. That statement runs contrary earlier rumblings that suggested Ford would launch its next-generation Focus RS in 2015 and follow the hatch with a spate of other vehicles with an RS badge. But de Waard has made it clear that Ford of Europe is now focused on squarely on the next Mustang, even though there may be more RS models on the way eventually.
"What is clear is that the RS shouldn't be a series, or a car badge that we have in our portfolio all the time. It is an extreme car - something more than ST," he said.
That philosophy makes plenty of sense. We loved the old Focus RS - shown above in RS500 trim - because it was generally bonkers and plenty exclusive. Diluting either aspect is sure to end in disappointment for everyone involved.

2015 Ford Transit

Wed, 11 Jun 2014

As a segment, fullsize vans are stealth-fighter invisible on most consumers' radar. Visit a dealership for any of the four brands that offer them and you'll be lucky to find even one on display. These are commercial vehicles primarily, even more so than pickup trucks. Vans are the shuttles for plumbers, caterers, carpenters, concrete layers, masons, electricians, florists and flooring, and a huge part of this country's productivity is accomplished using them. At the moment, Ford is the 800-pound gorilla in that room - fully 41 percent of commercial vehicles wear a Blue Oval. So when Ford announced three years ago it would be ditching its commercial bread-and-butter E-Series, it meant the Transit that would be replacing the Econoline had huge, 53-year-old shoes to fill.
We were still a bit nostalgic about Econoline vans going away until going directly from the Transit first drive in Kansas City to an E-350 airport shuttle. Climb up through the Econoline's tiny double doors and bang your head on the opening, crouch all the way to your seat then enjoy a loud, rattle-prone, creaky, harsh ride on beam-hard seats while struggling to see out the low windows. This is an experience nearly every traveler has had. By comparison, the Transits we'd just spent two days with were every bit of the four decades better they needed to be. It cannot be understated just how much better the Transit is in every single way. The load floor is barely more than knee high. There's a huge side door, and hitting your head on a door opening is nearly impossible. Stand up all the way if you're under six-foot, six-inches - no more half-hunching down the aisle. There are windows actually designed to be looked out of. The ride is buttery smooth, no booming vibration from un-restrained metal panels and no squeaks. Conversations can be held at normal levels rather than yelling over the roar of an ancient V8. The seats are comfortable. The AC is cold. There are cupholders.
Enough anecdote-laying, what's in a Transit? We're talking about a very fullsized unibody van that's enjoyed a 49-year history in Ye Olde Europe. This latest iteration is part of the "One Ford" initiative, so it was designed as a global offering from the get-go, eschewing the body-on-frame construction the E-Series has used since 1975. Instead, the Transit integrates a rigid ladder frame into an overall frame construction made of high-strength cold-rolled and boron steel. The suspension is a simple but well-tuned Macpherson strut array up front with a rear solid axle and leaf springs.
