2005 Ford Crown Victoria p71 in great overall condition.

-Owned previously by the city of Des plaines IL

-Always meticulously maintained

-Smells fresh like a police car

-New back seats

-Needs nothing drive it anywhere

-Everything works as it should

-Passed emissions

-No check engine light issues

-Runs great lots of extra un needed-power

-Shifts perfect

-This car is awesome.

-It gets about 20 mpg

-Full frame safety with dual rear child seat anchors

-Rubber flooring for easy cleaning

-Perfect car for pretty much anything you want to do

-Never a taxi everything is in great unmolested condition

-Car has never been in an accident

-I have the carfax!

-137,000 miles may go up it's my daily driver

-My wife broke the driver side window regulator I'll fix before the auction ends if I have time!! It is still somewhat operational.

-Could use sway bar bushings. A soft squeak can be hear sometimes over certain bumps. Chicago roads are full of bumps....

-Brakes squeak sometimes when hot.

-Engine could use some routine maintenance (Chain guides and tensioners) Just being honest. The car runs great and will continue to, but sometimes on cold days there is a little chatter right when you start it up. Very typical for these engines. I'd say 4/5 of them with over 120,000 miles do it. The parts are $100 it takes about 2 hours to fix. You don't have to be a genius to do it. If you are interested in the car but worried we can work something out. I can fix it for you for an additional $200. Or, just drive it. I'm just anal I am a mechanic and my job is driving vehicles and diagnosing what is wrong with them so I notice everything..

The paint has some touch up work where some of the white has peeled on the roof. There are some dings and small dents here and there and some scratches. Keep in mind it was an actual police car and hasn't had any paint work since. Still, Cleans up great and has a very lustrous shine.

-Over all you really cant beat it. Great car at a great price drives like new.  I buy and sell a lot of Crown Victoria's this is by far the nicest driving one I have come across yet.

-Turn the key and drive it home or anywhere.

-Feel free to ask questions. I encourage anyone interested to come look at it or drive it before buying. I promise no let-down.

 Thanks - Mike                       Happy bidding!

How Ford secretly used customers to test its aluminum F-150 [w/video]

Fri, 30 May 2014

Automakers getting clever about disguising development vehicles isn't anything new. Between mules wearing the sheetmetal of other cars and prototypes decked out in as much camouflage as is practical, automakers know how to make it very difficult for the general public to get an exact idea of what kind of vehicle is in development. Ford, though, is rapidly becoming the master.
We knew that the Blue Oval originally tested the durability of the aluminum construction being used for the 2015 F-150 by building an all-aluminum 2014 truck and entering it in the Baja 1000 off-road race. That's no longer a secret. What we didn't know, though, is that the aluminum development dates back to before even that, and that some of the people in question had no idea what it was they were working with.
Ford says this is the first time prototypes have ever been handed over to the public.

Ford car-camo artist works his craft on Australia's new Falcon XR8

Fri, 25 Jul 2014

Ford is among the kings of concealment when it comes to test cars. On one recent Mustang SVT mule, the automaker went to the extreme of putting baffles over the exhausts to hide how many there were. Sounds like a lot of work, right? In a new video, the Blue Oval has decided to take fans behind the scenes to show them what it takes to camouflage a prototype. In this case the subject was the recently unveiled 2014 Falcon XR8 for Australia.
Ford's prototype build coordinator Down Under has the very appropriate name of Neil Trickey, and it's his job to obfuscate the important bits of test cars to keep them out of spy shooters' camera lenses. Trickey calls his job a "dark art," and he shows off some of the tricks of his trade in the video. It turns out that the fabric we often see on mules is a type of lycra, but his team isn't above getting out a can of spray paint to conceal parts, too.

Bill Ford augments his power by nearly doubling stake of supervoting shares

Fri, 28 Jun 2013

Bill Ford Jr. has more sway than ever over the automaker that bears his surname, as the great-grandson of Ford's founder has reportedly doubled is holdings of Class B Ford stock. According to a report from Reuters (which cites a newly discovered securities filing), he acquired some 3.7 million Class B shares from an unnamed family member.
Class B shares of Ford stock are held by descendants of Henry Ford and offer expanded voting power to their holders - Bill Ford Jr. now controls roughly 11.5 percent of the total Class B pool. Ford Jr. is also a one of five trustees that manage a voting trust that oversees the majority of these "supervoting" shares. In total, Reuters reports there are 71 million Class B shares that account for 40 percent of the voting power in the company, despite making up just 2 percent of the total volume of all Ford stock.
Ford Jr. served as Ford's CEO until 2006, when he stepped down to hire and make space for current CEO, Alan Mulally. The move to consolidate Ford family voting power, at least somewhat, is seen by many as a comforting sign with Mulally's departure from the company likely to happen in the next several years.
