For your consideration is a very cool looking, great running ex Texas Highway Patrol car. This car has a TON of miles on the body but everything else is fresh. Tough PA inspection is passed and good until next July. The car has many new parts. Transmission was replaced when my father in law bought the car right around 315k. The motor is a fresher 2004 police interceptor. Miles unknown but believed to be about 100k on the motor. The car was repainted burnt orange and the paint looks good! My father in law only paid about 1100 for this paint job. Brakes are good, tires are so so but passed inspection. The car has carpet, factory CD player power locks, power windows, power drivers seat, huge alternator, COLD AC, HOT heat! Also has dual Flowmaster mufflers on the PI exhaust system (dual without resonators). The wheel covers are for an unmarked car. Simply remove them if you want the steel police wheels. Same wheels, these are just covers.
This car is fast and is solid as can be! ZERO RUST. Please look close to the pictures of this car on the lift, there is no rust! No exhaust leaks or anything like that. Just a great solid car! Fresh fluids with Ford Synthetics Trans replaced about 15k ago (no receipts or proof) Motor about 100k ago (no receipts or proof) Spark plugs just changed 4500 miles ago Coil packs replaced when need P71: External oil cooler Bigger trans cooler 281 4.6 HiPo motor Strong trans Strong 8.8 Rear Aluminum Drive shaft Police PCM tuning Heavy duty floor boards Duals with no resonators Strong anti sway bars Big brakes Extras: Comes with an extra set of 2 tires. Police spot light (not mounted) Police Kevlar trunk liner Tinted rear tail lights and side markers Xenon lights (also get stock bulbs) Synthetic fluids Has Ford "mud flaps" Rain guards on all windows Just replaced the following this summer for Father in law: New starter from Ford New P71 fan (comes with an extra one too, I bought a few) Steering knuckle I did my best to describe this car. My father in law just passed away so I have no receipts. I drove this car about 500 miles over the past week to be sure it is okay. I had no issues, it was fast, sounds like a mustang and is a pleasure to drive. This car is sold as is and has no warranty. Please drive this car before you purchase it if you have any concerns! Its good looking, tight, fast, and sounds great! Big safe car that gets great MPGs! You would think this car has 30k on the clock! At the end of the day, its a car that has had awesome maintenance and it will serve as a great daily driver! No reserve! This auction is for pick up only and it must be picked up within a week. I do have a truck and a trailer, I could deliver but my time is very limited. I would have to charge at least $1 a mile to and from delivery site. If you have less than perfect feedback. Or less than 10 feedback score, you have to contact me before bidding or I will have to cancel your bids. Too many people bid without buying. On Nov-18-13 at 17:38:38 PST, seller added the following information: Sorry about the "there is no reserve" in the description. There IS a very LOW reserve. This car just needs sold! |

Ford, GM still doing new business with Takata amidst airbag crisis
Thu, Nov 20 2014Lengthy vehicle development times make it difficult for automakers to cut and run from the supplier. You might expect automakers to be fleeing any connection with beleaguered supplier Takata in the wake of the company's exploding airbag inflator crisis. After all, with a Senate hearing, pending lawsuit, plummeting stock value and demand for a national recall, the tier-one supplier isn't at its strongest right now. However, years of cooperation mean that automakers are standing by Takata, and necessity may be playing a role, as well. About 39 percent of Takata's business comes from airbags, and seatbelts make up another significant chunk of the operation too, says Bloomberg. The long-term relationships and lengthy vehicle development times make it difficult for automakers to cut and run from the supplier. "Takata has so much product breadth that I don't really see that they could just disappear," said AutoPacific analyst Dave Sullivan to Bloomberg. For example, Takata helped develop the unique front center airbag with General Motors in models like the Chevrolet Traverse and Buick Enclave. Outside of safety tech, it is also a partner with Ford on the adaptive steering system available on the upcoming 2015 Edge. These long-lasting partnerships make change difficult now that there's a problem. According to Reuters, automakers claim it would take a year or longer to set up with a different supplier for replacement airbag inflators. Switching to a completely different part for the repairs might not be a viable option either, because of the engineering time needed. BMW is taking action, though. According to Reuters, the Bavarian brand is working with the supplier to move inflator production from Monclova, Mexico, to a Takata factory in Freiburg, Germany. The Mexican plant may be the source of some of the faulty parts. News Source: Bloomberg, ReutersImage Credit: Jens Meyer / AP Photo BMW Ford GM Safety Takata airbag recall
2022 Rivian R1T vs. 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning vs. GMC Hummer EV Pickup | How they compare on paper
Tue, Sep 28 2021The 2022 Rivian R1T has arrived, ushering in the era of the production electric pickup truck. The Rivian reviews are in, and spoiler alert: They're pretty good. Curious how the new battery-powered truck stacks up to its forthcoming competitors? Well, you've come to the right place. Rivian beat all of Detroit's big automakers to market in the half-ton segment, but probably not by the margin the startup would have liked. Ford's answer is the F-150 Lightning, which is due to enter production early next year, coming hot on the heels of GM's first entry into the space – the GMC Hummer EV pickup – which is scheduled to come off the line late this fall. While all three are pickups, they're aimed at distinctly different buyers, as a perusal of their specifications will reveal. Let's have a look, shall we?  Disclaimer: Before we dive in on this one, we'd like to note that while we've made our best effort to verify the specs provided, the Rivian is brand-new and the others are still in the prototype phase. Some of these figures may be inaccurate or may simply change before production. This is all hypothetical until you can actually cross-shop them anyway, right? Cool. End disclaimer. Let's start with the powertrains. They're all battery-electric trucks engineered on a modular rear-wheel-drive configuration engineered to accommodate (theoretically, anyway) up to four electric drive units. Rivian actually makes the most use of this with a quad-motor setup producing 835 horsepower and 908 pound-feet of torque with its high-output initial model. GMC's three-motor Hummer has the R1T beat with its estimated 1,000-horsepower output, while Ford's (also three-motor) comes in with a far more modest 563 horses. This is an excellent illustration of our above point that these are not all engineered for the same crowd. Ford's F-150, which comes in at a lower price point, is meant to be far more mainstream, as its power output suggests. This theme continues when we look at the dimensions. Despite the image "Hummer" may conjure, GMC's entry actually needs the shallowest parking space. The Rivian is right behind it, with the work-truck-spec Ford extending more than a foot longer than either. What the Hummer lacks in length, it makes up for in girth. It's the widest by a good 5 inches. The Rivian is only slightly pudgier than the F-150, but it's much closer at that end of the scale.
Shelby American cleans house of 14 concept cars
Wed, 25 Jun 2014Typically when an automaker rolls out a concept car or pre-production prototype, it does its tour and then disappears into the company's archives. Maybe it will be displayed for the public to see in the company's own museum or maybe it will spend most of its time under covers in a warehouse somewhere, but every once in a while, an automaker will open up its history and start selling off its concept cars. For Shelby American, "once in a while" has just rolled around.
The House that Carroll Built is moving from its previous headquarters at Las Vegas Motor Speedway to a new facility off of the Las Vegas strip, and in the process is liquidating fourteen of the rarest cars in its collection. That presents a tremendous opportunity for muscle car collectors to bring one or more of these snakes home.
As you might expect, the catalog is composed mostly of Mustangs, but not exclusively. There's a pair of 289 Cobras: the last of the 50th anniversary slab-sided continuation cars and an original development vehicle, offered at $200,000 apiece. At the other end of the spectrum you'll find the 2013 Shelby Raptor concept for $125k and Focus concept for $50k. And of course there are the Mustangs.
