Up for auction is my 2004 Crown Victoria P71 Police Interceptor. It is a former North Carolina State Highway Patrol car. It is the 4th Crown Vic I have owned and is definitely the best one. I am selling it only because I found another one that I want. I am selling it with NO RESERVE, so the highest bidder will win the auction.

The 2004 models are very desirable. 2004 was the last year for the mechanical throttle linkage, and the first year for the "Marauder" intake setup. Previously, the Police Interceptor produced 239 horsepower, but the 2004 Police Interceptor increased that to 250 horsepower due to the addition of a new "Marauder" air intake setup.

This is NOT your typical beat up white car with vinyl floor and rear seat that has holes plugged up all over as well as holes in the dash. This is a slick top (never had lights mounted on the roof) and has no holes on the roof or dashboard. It has strobe lights still installed, which are disconnected as per Ebay policy. In addition to the usual power windows, locks, and trunk, it is also equipped with a power seat and cruise control. The North Carolina State Highway Patrol is known for maintaining their police cars. I have the records from the NCSHP.

This car runs and drives excellent. The Michelin tires were put on last year and have tons of tread. The A/C is cold, the heat is hot, and all the power options work, even the ticket light. It has a full size spare. It has the Street Appearance Package, but the chrome grille was switched with a black honeycomb one (which I think looks nicer). Everything (except for the grille, strobe lights, and window tint) is all original right down to the AM/FM stereo. There are, of course, some little dings and scratches normal for a 2004 but the car looks great. There are plenty of white cars on Ebay that are beat up and needing work, but not my car. If you are looking for a great Police Interceptor, this could be the one for you. It is ready to be driven across America, nothing is needed to repair. Best of all it will be sold to the highest bidder.

I will do what I can as far as picking the winning bidder up at RDU airport or with your shipper. I have bought and sold several cars on Ebay and have 100% positive feedback. Please email or call me with any questions. My name is Sean and my cell is (919) 656-8395. You are more than welcome to come see the car in person before the auction is over. Good luck!

Ford gets colorful with Mustang anniversary infographic

Thu, 24 Oct 2013

Preparing to celebrate its 50th birthday, the Ford Mustang has seen a lot of vehicle trends come and go, and this especially goes for paint colors. Using historical production data, Ford has managed to create an infographic dating back to 1967 that breaks down the three top Mustang colors for each year as well as calling out some of the more interesting trends and colors over the years.
Over its five generations, the Mustang has been offered in a seemingly endless rainbow - from Playboy Pink in '67 and color-changing Mystichrome on the 2004 Cobra - but the most popular has always been red, which is the color of choice for 21 percent of all Mustangs ever made. Almost every year since 1967, red has been among the top three colors for the Mustang, but other popular colors have included blue, white, brown and, most recently, black. There are even websites and registries available for people owning certain-color Mustangs.
As the all-new 2015 Mustang gets ready for its debut later this year, there's no telling what kind of exciting and/or wacky colors Ford has in store. Click on the image above to see the full infographic (choose the "large" option for optimal viewing), or check it out in a smaller size along with the press release posted below.

Leno talks racing with NASCAR racer Joey Logano

Wed, 02 Jul 2014

Jay Leno has to be under significant pressure knowing the appetite his fans have for a new Jay Leno's Garage video every week. This time, Jay takes a break from his usual format (something he's been doing with some frequency as of late) and goes back to his roots as a talk show host. There's no classic in the garage his episode with an interesting story to tell and a sumptuous exhaust note. Instead, the focus is purely on interviewing 23-year-old NASCAR racer Joey Logano about what it's like to be a racecar driver in his Ford Fusion.
Logano started racing at the tender age of six and has risen up the circle-track ranks to the big show of the NASCAR Sprint Cup. The two of them talk about what it's like to compete in the sport today compared to yesteryear, and Logano shares some racing anecdotes. Of course, they also get into what it's like to be on the racetrack controlling a car with about 850 horsepower, a four-speed manual transmission and brakes without any power boost. Scroll down to watch the video.
