2000 Ford Crown Victoria Lx & Lots Of Extra Parts on 2040-cars
Chicago, Illinois, United States
I purchased this car back in early June, 2013 and had 128,8xx miles on it when bought. Currently it has 133,578 miles on it and I do not drive it anymore. It is started and warmed up every 2-3 days through the winter. The car does have rust but not as much as other same year midwest Crown Vics. Three of the wheel wells have been bondo'd and painted with a similar body color by the previous owner. The two front doors do have some slight rust and paint bubbling on the very bottom edges but the doors do close and seal correctly. The heat and AC work very good.
A couple days after I bought it the transmission died. I had a rebuilt Jasper transmission installed and a brand new transmission cooler installed. I have the paperwork and the transmission will come with the difference of a 3 year/100k mile warranty. I installed a class III/IV Curt tow receiver with a 400lb tongue weight and a 4000lb gross trailer limit. I used it to tow a lightweight trailer with a canoe on it just a couple times. It is wired for trailer lights. If you would like to purchase the trailer feel free to send me a question or message. It's an assembled 4x8 Harbor Freight trailer with a 1200lb capacity. I will include the tow hitch if you do want to purchase the trailer. The spark plugs and wires were replaced the day after I bought the car back in June. The front rotors and tie rod ends were replaced about a month and a half ago and have no more than 20 miles or so on them. The car received a front end alignment today (1/15/14). The front seats do show some wear on them especially the driver's side but the power motors still work like new. The front window motors are a bit worn but do work. The driver's side REAR window does not roll down as I suspect it has come off the runners. The car was previously owned by a smoker but I have cleaned 99% of the smell and tar out. The car has been steamed cleaned inside multiple times and the smoke smell is gone. There are a couple cigarette burn marks on the driver's seat and on the carpet, not many though. I decided not to return all the parts that I bought for the car and will include them with the car. They are as follows including the part numbers. -Moog Front Coil Springs - 80090 -Moog Spring Seats - K160066 -Moog Sway Bar bushings - K8731 -Wagner Rear Brake Pads - SX674 -Bosch Fuel Pump - 69131 -KYB Gas-A-Just Front Shocks - KG5572 -Fel-Pro Fuel Injector O-Ring Set - ES-70599 (not needed to be installed, bought on clearance) -Autobest Gas Strainer - F276S -Ford Sway Bar Bolts/Clips - N806729-S436 -Dorman Oil Drain Plug - 090-115 (was bought for a 2002 Ford Explorer, not sure if fits and is not needed) -Haynes Repair Manual The front suspension pieces and the fuel pump do need to be installed. Today the check engine light came on and I had it scanned at Autozone, code P0301, misfire on cylinder 1. I'm 99% sure it's the fuel pump but I will check the engine during the week for spark plug problems or vacuum leaks and will update the ad if the problem is fixed. The car is drivable, it just idles a little rough. There is a crack on the top of the windshield on the passenger side. It is about 6 inches long and I'm pretty sure it's from the week of bitter cold and snow that Chicago received last week. The passenger side headlight is also cracked and is covered with tape. The light still works though. The fuel tank is 19 gallons but the most I've ever been able to pump into it is about 15 gallons. I'm not sure if it is due to a clogged evap line or canister but the problem never bothered me and I never bothered to look into it. Show full video transcript text [00:00:00] Ford releases an upgrade kit for the Focus ST, 2015 shows a spike in traffic-related deaths, and the future of Audi, here's a hint it's electric. I'm Greg Migliore, senior editor at Autoblog with these stories and more for your Autoblog Minute weekly recap. Own a Focus ST but suffer from horsepower envy in anticipation of the Focus RS? Not a problem. A $1,900-kit from the developers at Mountune will boost your hot hatch to 275 hp and 296 pound-feet of torque, when running on 93-octane fuel. Traffic fatalities in 2015 see the largest spike in decades. The report from National Safety Council cites more drivers putting in more miles, and distracted driving as contributing to the 14-percent hike in car-related deaths. Audi plans on releasing a fully electric SUV at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show. Those are the highlights from the week that was. Be sure to check in this Saturday for my complete weekly recap. Ford C-Max spied with fresh updates
Fri, 05 Sep 2014The Ford C-Max hatchback looks to be getting a few cosmetic updates, as evidenced in this latest set of spy photos. Like the smaller Focus, which also received a nip/tuck for the 2015 model year, the C-Max appears to be getting a revised front fascia with slimmer headlamps and a more, shall we say, Aston Martin-like grille. Around back, there looks to be a new bumper with redesigned taillamps, as well.
In other markets, the C-Max people-mover is available with a range of powertrains, but here in the US, it exists either as a traditional gas-electric or plug-in hybrid. The C-Max's fuel economy has been a particular topic of interest lately, with its official fuel economy ratings having been lowered twice since the vehicle's launch. Sales initially suffered a bit following this fiasco, though numbers have since leveled out. It's unclear if Ford is working on any powertrain tweaks for the updated C-Max seen here, however.
Ford has likely spruced up the hatch's interior, as well, though we don't have photos of that at this time. Mum's the word on when we'll see the new C-Max, but our best guess is that it'll arrive sometime in the next year.
A 1985 Ford Escort for $915,000? If it was owned by Princess Diana
Sun, Sep 3 2023What makes a used car worth more than the car itself? If it was owned by John Lennon. Or Muhammad Ali. Michael Schumacher, perhaps, or Stirling Moss. This year’s edition from the Hagerty organization of its “Power List” makes for amusing reading even if youÂ’re not on it. But you can make believe that you are. Essentially, the list, which was launched only last year, tracks the impact of celebrity ownership of a vehicle on its value, as measured by its worth at auction. Nearly 400 sales of celebrity cars and bikes have been analyzed from around the world by Hagerty using market data and “expert” analytics. Hagerty is aware, certainly, that famous folks — from royalty, sports, movies and music — grab gobs of attention from ordinary people. ThatÂ’s why the 2023 Power List comprises these categories: Art Cars, Racing Drivers, Movies and TV, Musicians, Royalty, Screen Stars, Sporting Icons. But you don't have to be a rock star or a F1 pilot to get listed: Princess Diana, besides an Escort Turbo RS that she owned between 1985 and 1988, numbered a convertible 1994 Audi 80 Cabriolet and a Jaguar XJS Cabriolet among her rides. HereÂ’s a look at some of the more notable entries: Racing driver category: In pole position was an unlikely titleholder, a 1976 Ford Bronco. This was the car bought new by legendary Canadian Formula 1 driver Gilles Villeneuve and untouched since his death; it sold at the Aguttes auction in Paris last December for $148,000, a huge 210% increase over the $47,800 that Hagerty would value a regular example in the same condition. Just a note: The list doesnÂ’t include race cars, only vehicles kept privately by the drivers. Musicians: A 1974 Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow had been Freddie MercuryÂ’s personal chauffeur-driven transport from 1979 until his death in 1991. Without celebrity ownership, Hagerty would value the Silver Shadow at a lowly $9,500, a car that would take a lot of time, effort and money to restore properly. But add in MercuryÂ’s aura and bids ended at $362,500. “ItÂ’s no surprise that MercuryÂ’s car dominated our Musicians list on the 2023 Hagerty Power List,” the company said. Movies and TV: For those readers now emerging from hibernation since 1968, the news is that the historic Highland Green Mustang from “Bullitt” remains at the top of the Power List for the second year running.
