WARNING!!! PLEASE READ THIS ENTIRE SUMMARY BEFORE YOU CONSIDER BIDDING ON THIS VEHICLE!!!!!!! I'm selling my 1992 Ford Crown Victoria LX I recently purchased due to it needing major engine and frame work that I have neither the time or money to invest in it and believe it should be parted out! The vehicle does run and drive but sometimes wants to stall out after a warm start and idles roughly, sometimes very roughly when warmed up. There also seems to be a strong smell of gasoline under the hood and under the vehicle plus there is some residual gasoline coming out of the tailpipe when the car is started cold. I've been told it could be bad fuel injectors and/or bad camshafts since the 92 models had issues with loose cam lobes. I have replaced the following items: spark plugs and wires, fuel filter, oil and filter change, MAF sensor, TPS sensor, IAC valve, air filter, and PCV valve, plus the AC was converted to R134A by the previous owner and does blow cold but takes a few minutes. I have stopped driving it due to this and am strongly recommending the vehicle be towed to its new home. Also the frame is severely rusted with a portion of the front frame behind the passenger front wheel rusted almost completely through. I've included pics of the rust underneath, which is extensive and very bad. That's why I am also recommending that the car be parted out instead of fixed because the rust is too extensive and very thick and the engine problems may be cost prohibitive. The air bag light and ABS light are both on due to some faults in their system. I disabled the airbag system (removed the wiring from the clockspring) and unplugged the front crash sensors. I also removed the ABS controller due to it being faulty. I STRONGLY DO NOT RECOMMEND DRIVING THE VEHICLE DUE TO THE SEVERE PROBLEMS WITH THE FRAME AND MOTOR! The winning bidder is responsible for picking up the vehicle or to have the vehicle shipped to their home. I have a low reserve price set also; message me on ebay if you would like to know the reserve price. Please read this summary BEFORE you bid and if there are any questions please by all means ask!!!

Ford 1.0L takes third-straight International Engine of the Year award
Thu, 26 Jun 2014Ford's 1.0-liter EcoBoost is proving to be The Little Engine That Could, and it continues to acquit itself well, finding favor as one of the best powerplants in the world. To confirm it yet again, the tiny mill just won the International Engine of the Year award for the third year in a row, likewise also nabbing the title in the Sub 1.0-liter category.
Packing 123 horsepower and 148 pound-feet of torque with overboost (125 lb-ft normally), the tiny engine combines impressive power in a size small enough to be a carry-on item for a commercial flight. US buyers only got a taste of the award winner in the 2014 Fiesta, while the 1.0 EcoBoost has been available throughout the Ford lineup in Europe for a few years now. American sales have reportedly been strong, however, and next up in the US, the mill will find its way into the 2015 Focus.
The panel of 82 jury members from 34 countries also named the Mercedes-AMG 2.0-liter turbo found in the A45, CLA45 and GLA45 AMG models with 355 hp and 332 lb-ft as the best New Engine for 2014. The electric powertrain from Tesla won Green Engine prize, and the 4.5-liter V8 from the Ferrari 458 Italia took home the honor of top Performance Engine yet again. You can check out all the winners below, and scroll down further to read Ford's celebratory announcement of its award.
Road tripping in a Ford Fusion Energi PHEV
Fri, Aug 28 2015Following my earlier Chevy Cruze Diesel trip and recent press-launch drives of Volvo XC90 and Hyundai Sonata plug-in hybrids, an opportunity arose for another road trip. I wanted to do it in a plug-in hybrid, primarily to learn whether its higher price vs. gas-powered and conventional hybrid versions of the same vehicle – is justified by its capability to operate as an EV, burning no fuel at all with its engine off, at least for short distances. I've been skeptical of plug-in parallel hybrids. As I've written before, I've been skeptical of plug-in parallel hybrids because they are generally good for very limited electric miles (typically 10-15, depending on driving style, terrain, and temperature) at fairly leisurely speeds before their engines kick in. But I've recently spent time in two new examples – the 2016 Volvo XC90 T8 and the 2016 Hyundai Sonata PHEV – that offer more EV range, mostly because they tote bigger (thus more expensive) batteries. Both promise 24-25 miles of battery-only range, and the latter can recharge on the fly. Unfortunately, neither was yet available for my July road trip, nor was a Honda or Toyota plug-in, but Ford anted up a Fusion Energi borrowed from its Marketing department. "The state-of-the-art lithium-ion battery and electric motor combined with the gasoline engine offers maximum efficiency," says Ford about it. "This strategy offers the best of both worlds, providing the 2016 Ford Fusion Energi the capability to be driven as an electric vehicle for short trips and as a hybrid for longer trips." I've been a fan of Ford's Fusion since the first-generation debuted a decade back, and the handsome Gen II version launched for 2013 has been Detroit's best answer to the Honda Accord/Toyota Camry/Nissan Altima Japanese juggernaut in the popular US mid-size sedan segment. Beyond its leading-man looks, it offers an array of highly-functional features (some exclusive), a choice of three gas engines (a base 2.5-liter four and 1.6-liter and 2.0-liter direct-injected, turbocharged EcoBoost fours) and both parallel and plug-in parallel hybrid versions. The regular hybrid originally boasted 47 mpg before Ford adjusted it to be more realistic. The gas engines drive through a 6-speed automatic transmission (a 6-speed manual is standard with the 1.6-liter EcoBoost), the hybrids through an electric continuously variable transaxle (eCVT), and all-wheel drive is available with the 2.0-liter EcoBoost four.
Man turns Ford Fiesta into a one-car band
Mon, 18 Nov 2013The one-man band is a rather ridiculous idea, drawing up images of one person attempting to manipulate several instruments, at once, in a vain attempt at creating music. It's usually represented by silly scenes like this. Interestingly, the concept isn't much more successful when the "man" in "one-man band" is replaced with "car," as we see in this video.
It seems that someone rigged up and edited (699 times, we might add) a Ford Fiesta, a bucket, 12 PVC pipes and the natural sounds that a car makes to come up with a song. Now, we don't recognize the tune, so we've no idea if this is a cover or an original piece. And while it's hardly Beethoven, we have to admire the amount of effort the "conductor" went to in his attempt to turn a subcompact car into a musical instrument(s). Take a look (or listen) below for the entire video.
