This one here is for all you Ford fanatics that have been looking to go back to the days when vehicles were manufactured for comfort and reliability. It's my pristine, pappy 1-Owner 1989 LTD Crown Vic 5.0L V8 time capsule with just 56,000 original barn stored miles. Complete with an original title and all the books to go with it.

Mechanically this car runs strong. Motor fires up without hesitation and sounds healthy through all the RPM's. Transmission shifts beautifully through all the gears with no funny shifts or slipping. Tires are like new Michelins with about 95% tread left. Drives well down the road. Steering feels good. A/C is ice cold. Has power seats, windows, locks and premium sound system. Fresh oil change done recently. Just an all around pure peach mechanically that has been well cared for over the years.

Cosmetically it's just as nice. Paint shines like new in the sun with no dry spots or sun damage anywhere and is all original. Body is nice and straight with no door dings. Has a little scuff on the front bumper that has been touched up about an inch long. Absolutely no rust anywhere on the car. Underneath is pristine. Under the hood and inside the trunk lid look great. This is literally a pappy owned car that has been preserved in a barn for years. Vinyl top is in great shape with no tears or discoloration. Interior is as fresh as they come. No tears or stains to note. Hasn't been smoked in.

Overall this is a true survivor of the old Crown Vics with the ultra reliable 5.0L V8 motor and it definitely shows. It has been meticulously preserved for the next Ford die hard to enjoy for years to come. If you have any questions please feel free to give me a call at 717-823-3349. My name is Zach. If you would like to have the privilege of seeing this rare peach in person please call and make an appointment. Keep in mind that although this is a very clean and beautiful car, it is a 1989 and not a 2015. A $500 non refundable deposit is due at the end of the auction. This car is being sold by Platinum Car and Truck Sales, LLC in Elizabethtown, PA.

Ford GT, Buick Avenir and Audi Q7 take 2015 EyesOn Design awards

Thu, Jan 15 2015

The annual EyesOn Design Awards at the Detroit Auto Show allows some of the greatest designers in the world to weigh in on the best production and concept debuts at the big event each year. For 2015, the large panel of judges included luminaries like Frank Stephenson of McLaren, Ralph Gilles from FCA and Moray Callum of Ford. Apparently the editors at Autoblog had a good eye because the winner of 2015's Best Designed Production Vehicle award went to the Ford GT, which was also our favorite debut from the show. The new supercar beat the Acura NSX and Mercedes-Benz GLE-Class Coupe for the honor. The judges described the Blue Oval's shape as "capturing the original GT40 in a modern interpretation," according to EyesOn Design. The Buick Avenir was also a big winner in the awards this year and received the nods for both Best Designed Concept Vehicle and Innovative Use of Color, Graphics and Materials. In the concept category, it beat out the Chevrolet Bolt and Mercedes-Benz F 015, and in the latter group, the sedan triumphed over Audi Q7, Mercedes F 015 and Volkswagen Cross Coupe GTE. The Q7 received its own accolade for Best Designed Interior, and it beat the Avenir and Infiniti Q60 for the honor. This year's Lifetime Design Achievement Award went to former Renault designer Patrick le Quement, and Bob Lutz received the EyesOn Design Catalyst Award for the second time. The honor is for an executive "who has empowered great design," according to the organization, which describes Lutz perfectly. Scroll down to read the announcement with more comments about the winners. Related Video: Ford, Buick, Audi recipients of EyesOn Design Awards at North American International Auto Show EyesOn Design Awards for Design Excellence for 2015 were revealed today at the North American International Auto Show. The awards honor the most significant automotive designs revealed at NAIAS as determined by the North American and global leaders of design from automotive manufacturers, along with academic chairs of transportation design programs and design leaders from other fields.

Report: GM struggling to market turbo technology

Tue, 20 Apr 2010

In the automotive realm, marketing can sometimes prove just as important as the actual product. Take, for instance, Ford's well regarded EcoBoost technology, which couples turbocharging with direct injection to produce more horsepower and reduce fuel consumption. Would it surprise you to hear that General Motors has had similar technology on the market for over three years?
It's true. GM's first turbocharged, direct injected powerplants hit the market for the 2007 model. The 2.0-liter Ecotec mills put down an impressive 260 horsepower and a matching 260 pound-feet of torque, and they were lauded by the press in the engine bays of the Pontiac Solstice, Saturn Sky, Chevrolet Cobalt SS and Chevrolet HHR SS. But few people outside a core group of enthusiasts actually remember this fact.
Says Uwe Grebe, executive director of GM's global advanced engineering, "We didn't have a badge and say, 'This is the most important thing we will put on all our brochures.'" Ford, however, did just that, and it's EcoBoost engines are right at the tips of all our tongues when we discuss today's most advanced powerplants. So, how does The General fix its mistake?

Jessi and Patrick attend Team O'Neil Rally School in Dalton, NH, to learn how to shred in the snow. Veteran instructor and school founder Tim O'Neil demonstrates left-foot braking, slalom techniques, turning, proper ways to blip the throttle and more in this episode. They get behind the wheel of modern Ford Fiestas with front-wheel drive and a vintage Audi Quattro with all-wheel drive. They catch on quickly, and O'Neil tells Patrick: "Tell your grandchildren you are a rally driver." Watch as our hosts check "attend rally school" off their list. Have an RSS feed?
