Uncut 1968 Ford Bronco 289 V-8 91k Miles on 2040-cars
Cedar Park, Texas, United States
First, look at all the Broncos that have cut rear fenders. I'm guessing 75% have the rear fenders cut. This is a restored 1968 Ford Bronco. This is not a frame off restoration but is very well done. 289 V-8 with 91,000 (believed to be original) miles. Rebuilt engine at 85,389 bored out .30 over (tried .10 but could not get the back cylinders perfectly round). No performance parts were installed, only tried to bring it back to factory condition. 3 speed manual transmission that shifts and pulls excellent. Clutch replaced and pressure plate resurfaced at 81,000 miles. 4x4 works fine and the truck is a serious head turner. Replaced both fuel tanks with polyethylene tanks and new sending units. Interior finished in original style and material. Frame cleaned, Loctite Rust Extend applied (not rusty, just precautionary), painted black. Floor pans are original and only had some small pinholes that were tack welded before front section was sprayed with bedliner. Interior rear section had no problems (not so much as a dent) and was only painted. Floor heat shield/matting applied before new carpet was installed. Truck is painted in the correct, original 1968 Ford Meadowlark Yellow as determined by the VIN in 2011. New door handles, door mirrors, lenses were installed. 3 core aluminum radiator installed. New fuel pump, carburetor, oil pump and water pump at time of engine rebuild. Power disk brake conversion installed in 2009 but master cylinder has leaked and caused paint to come off the fender as seen in the pictures. Flow Masters Dual exhaust and power disk brake conversion are the only items not original to the truck. It has a manual choke (I preferred this set up versus an auto choke on the carburetor). Fuel gauge does not work but it has two fuel tanks. I fill up when one runs out so I never worry about the gauge working. Vacuum wipers weak so I would replace with an electric conversion. Most of the interior knobs and cables have been replaced. New Goodyear Wrangler 235/75 15 tires with less than 1,000 miles. One small oil leak from dipstick tube in oil pan. I have owned this truck for 12 years and slowly had much of the work completed. It has a full hard top in very good condition but I did not restore it since I leave the Bronco in the garage with the top off. I still have some extra replacement parts as I bought more than one of many items such as door seals. I have the original front drums if you'd like them. There are a few nicks here but I have tuch up paint for when those mishaps take place. Insured at $20k through Haggerty Classic Car Insurers and they have to approve the amount of coverage requested. I would drive this truck across the country without any concern. It was my everyday driver when I first got it and drove it from Nashville, TN to New Orleans when I moved in 2002 in one day without any problems at all. It is currently tagged and inspected in Austin, Texas and I drive it about two weekends a month. I'm sure I've forgotten items that have been taken care of but I think you get the picture. You can email me with questions or if you prefer, give me a call (985) 774-9609. Bronco is for sale locally and I reserve the right to end this auction at anytime prior to the end of the auction unless the reserve has been met. Ken Block's Gymkhana 8 to feature Dubai Police cars?
Tue, Feb 23 2016Yesterday we showed you the shiny Ford Fiesta that Ken Block will slide, spin, and hoon through the next Gymkhana video. In case the image above isn't clear, that video will drop at midnight EST on February 30th on the Ford Performance YouTube channel. We don't know all the entire premise of the video yet, but this Tweet from the man himself reveals that the video will be set in Dubai. Block is standing on the Fiesta we saw yesterday, and arrayed behind him are a handful of those famous Dubai Police cars you're probably familiar with. The force has a fleet of sportscars and supercars, and the purpose is outreach and goodwill among its citizenry, not necessarily the pursuit of criminals. This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings. From left to right, we can see a Maserati GranTurismo, Porsche 911, what looks to be a Nissan GT-R obscured by Block's Fiesta, a McLaren (likely a 650S), Ford Mustang, and a Ferrari 599 of some ilk. Will they take part? Maybe Block will try and run from what might be the most horsepower-intensive police fleet in the world. We'll have answers (and a few minutes of pure Block hooniganism) in a few days. Related Video:
Ford's official Euro aftermarket partner Mountune coming to US
Tue, 06 Aug 2013Now that we're getting a steady stream of Ford's European offerings, the aftermarket world is finally starting to catch up as well. UK-based aftermarket tuning company, Mountune has just announced that it will be setting up shop in California to provide high-performance and racing parts for Ford vehicles including the Focus ST and Fiesta ST.
Mountune lays claim to being Ford's "official European tuning partner," and US buyers will soon have access to these parts through Ford dealerships and with a Ford Racing warranty. Speaking of Ford Racing, Mountune also says that it will be working with Ford's in-house team to develop future components for both street and track. There are no specifics as of yet for which products will be offered here, but the company plans to launch a US-specific website later this month with more information.
