Low Miles Rust Free Southwest Tastefully Upgraded Runs Drives Great Senior Owned on 2040-cars
St. George, Utah, United States
Beautiful, low mileage, top of the line, tastefully upgraded, rust free, well maintained, desert Southwest, senior owned 1978 Ford Bronco Ranger XLT with only 66,691 original miles that runs and drives wonderfully. The husband of a friend of a friend recently passed away from cancer and she has asked me to sell off some of his collection. This beautiful Bronco is the first to make it to the auction block.
As 1978 - 1979 Broncos increase in value (full-size and last of the solid front axles) originality will become more and more important. Although the mods are tasteful and improve the performance of the vehicle, they are all bolt-on and easily reversible. That's an important point to remember. Below is a list of its goodies in no particular order... * Original 400M Cleveland Based V-8 (very possibly recently rebuilt - see below) * C-6 Automatic Transmission * New Process 205 Gear Driven Transfer Case * Dana 44 Front Axle * Ford 9 Inch Rear Axle * Air Conditioning * Power Steering * Power Brakes * Tilt Wheel * Grant GT Steering Wheel * Lift Kit (all bolt-on) * Rancho RS5000 Shocks (4 in front, 2 in rear) * Aftermarket Tires & Wheels (35x12.50/15) * Matching Spare Tire * Rear Mud Flaps * Warn Hubs * Steering Stabilizer * Polyurethane Bushings Front & Rear * Polyurethane Body Mounts * Edelbrock 1406 4bbl Carburetor * Edelbrock Cast Air Filter Assembly * Weiand 8010 Intake Manifold * Electronic Ignition * Mild Cam * Headers * 2 Into 1 Turbo Muffler With 3 Inch Exhaust * Front Bull Bar * KC Hilites Driving Lights * Chrome Rock Sliders/Side Steps * Towing Package * Autogage By Autometer Tachometer * Clarion Pro-Audio AM/FM/CD Player * New Battery * Bully Aluminum Throttle & Brake Pedals * Ford Racing Floor Mats The interior is in excellent condition for its age (see pics). Doors close tightly, windows roll up and down properly, AC works well and all switches, buttons and knobs still do their job (except horn and radio). Even the cigarette lighter works. Rear window rolls up and down well also. It looks scratched but the glass is good and only the tinting is affected. Minor stains on front seat. And the few dash cracks are a downside of spending its life in a dry, desert climate. The very straight and clean condition of the interior is what you would expect from a well-maintained, senior-owned and babied 36 year old vehicle. The exterior is in very good condition with one older respray in the original red and white. It has never had any rust anywhere ever (see pics). Any body imperfections are minor and clearly visible in the pictures. Lights work other than left front blinker. Tires are old and have some age-related cracking. The undercarriage is in great shape and I have many pictures showing every part of it. Front bumper has had some minor trimming done on the ends (see pics). All body moldings are still in place. They are in good shape other than small scratches/dents on grill corners. Removable top is in good condition. All glass is good. The running gear is exceptional. As summarized above, upgrades are tasteful and dramatically improve performance and drivability. I also have a strong suspicion the engine has been rebuilt in the recent past. Obviously, it is no longer Ford Blue and it runs as if it's brand new. There is no engine-colored overspray anywhere so it certainly wasn't just painted red while sitting in the engine compartment. In addition, it's clear this Bronco has been treated well it's entire life, both mechanically and cosmetically, so it's certainly a strong possibility. And as a result, it starts, runs, accelerates, turns, brakes and stops just the way it should (if not better). I would not hesitate to drive it cross-country today. My name is Chris and I am happy to answer your questions. Please call me at 435-669-1470. I also have tons of pictures that show every nook and cranny in great detail. Send me your email address and I'll get them to you. And this beautiful beast is ready to enjoy today so you may want to consider flying in and driving home. That would be a blast and I'd be happy to help facilitate it. This sweet 1978 Ford Bronco Ranger XLT is located in the dry, desert community of Hurricane, Utah (a little over 100 miles north of Las Vegas). Good luck and good bidding. |

Global buyers prefer red, black Ford Mustangs
Fri, Mar 13 2015As sales of the new, 2015 Ford Mustang kick off across the globe, Ford is uncovering some interesting data about its long-lived muscle car, and some of the most interesting stats focus on the color palette. Not surprisingly, buyers have a thing for a red Mustang. Race Red, a bright, glossy color, is the number one shade among Mustang owners in both Europe and China with 20 percent of Europeans and 35 percent of Chinese owners opting for the shade. Ford's Ruby Red paint was the third most popular color among American consumers. That's because Mustang owners in the land of the free and home of the brave prefer a literal dark horse, opting for the glossy Black. Magnetic, a dark gray shade, was the second favorite among American Mustang owners. That's right, America's favorite color overall, white, didn't even crack the top three (although Oxford White hit number two in China). Black remained popular in other markets, as well. Absolute Black, a metallic shade, tied Race Red in Europe, appearing on 20 percent of vehicles. Just under 20 percent of Chinese buyers, meanwhile, opted for the same gloss black Americans preferred. Check out Ford's full press release for more detailed stats on how customers in three of the company's largest markets are designing their Mustangs. Related Video: MAR 12, 2015 | DEARBORN, MICH. Watch how a Ford Raptor rolls down the assembly line in Dearborn
Sun, 30 Mar 2014Bloomberg TV reporter Matt Miller is the proud new owner of a pretty killer truck. How do we know? The reporter headed to Dearborn, MI to Ford's assembly plant, with a film crew in tow, to see exactly how his new F-150 SVT Raptor and its mother-loving 6.2-liter V8 engine, was screwed together.
The resulting video does an excellent job of summing up how an assemblage of parts and pieces is turned into a triple-black Raptor, thanks to the work of some 1,000 employees and about 20 hours of real time. Click through below to see how the truck is born, with a surprise cameo playing the part of delivery driver at the end.
Ford reveals EcoBoost-powered Riley prototype for Daytona 24
Tue, 01 Oct 2013It's not the first time Ford has participated in the Daytona Prototype class as an engine supplier, but in revealing this new EcoBoost V6-powered Riley Technologies prototype for the new United SportsCar Championship, Ford is making a statement: "We want to show Ford EcoBoost's capabilities as an engine that provides both performance and fuel economy, on and off the track," says Jamie Allison, director of Ford Racing.
In addition to supplying the 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V6, Ford had its production designer Garen Nicoghosian give the racecar brand-inspired design cues with support from Ford Racing chief aerodynamicist Bernie Marcus.
The car is scheduled to compete at next year's Rolex 24 at Daytona on January 25-26, but before that, Michael Shank Racing is working with Ford at another goal. Driving his Ford Thunderbird, NASCAR champion Bill Elliott set the track's top speed record at 210.364 miles per hour during a qualifying run for the Daytona 500 - way back in 1987 -- and Ford thinks it's about time for that record to fall. What better time the introduction of this new Ford-powered Daytona Prototype? Michael Shank Racing plans to use the twin-turbo V6-powered racer to beat Elliott's record, and it expects to begin prepping for the top-speed run on October 9.
