Beautiful 87 Ford Bronco 4x4 on 2040-cars
Valdosta, Georgia, United States
I have up for auction a beautiful 1987 Ford Bronco. I purchased it from San Antonio Texas where it had spend all its life. It is truly a rust free Bronco. It clearly need a paint job because it was faded badly and the old clear coat was peeling. I sanded the old stuff off and started with SPI epoxy primer which sets up an unbelievable foundation. The Bronco had one spot that had body filler, and I am not sure why because it was no bigger than a dollar bill. I fixed the misc nicks and dings and painted it two tone Silver and Blue. The interior is very basic but in excellent shape for a 1987. The rubber mat in the back is original and has quite a bit of wear and some cuts, but it is very serviceable. The guy I purchased it from had just spent over $1200 having it tuned up and the power rear window repaired. He didn't fib about the condition, but had a unique method of disclosing it's flaws. When he stated " the gas gauge works, but only when it wants too" that translates into... it doesn't work. At least in the over 1000 miles I have put on it the gauge hasn't "wanted" to work yet. He said the radio works, but it will need speakers. The radio doesn't work. He said it will soon need a muffler. It does, and I will have one installed. The power steering pump, or the hose on has a small leak in it.
The 4 wheel drive and AC works. It is a manual transmission and 302 V8. The transmission in 1987 was a real truck transmission, not a car transmission like the put in them in later years. My hobby is lite bodywork and painting older vehicles up, I do one to two a year, and this is by far the best running vehicle I have ever had to work on. As I said I have put over 1000 miles on it and it is truly amazing. Have a look at the pictures, and email me if you have any questions. Shipping costs are buyers responsibility. I will assist with loading. I encourage local inspections prior to bidding. If the winning bidder upon local inspection has any concerns whatsoever I will gladly refund any deposit and you won't have to go thru with the purchase. |

2015 Ford Mustang fuel economy ratings leaked
Thu, 21 Aug 2014Thinking about buying a new Mustang, but want to know what kind of fuel economy it'll get? Well we have our first indication as the pony-car enthusiasts over at Mustang6G.com have gotten a hold of the Monroney window stickers for a few of the new 2015 Mustang models.
Although the V8 model is not among them, we can now see how the EPA has rated those models with a half dozen pistons or less. The Mustang EcoBoost with the turbo four and a manual transmission has been rated at 22 miles per gallon in the city and 31 on the highway. The V6 manual gets 17 city and 28 highway, while the V6 automatic squeezes out a bit more in the city at 19 mpg but carries the same 28 highway rating.
By way of comparison, the latest Chevy Camaro with the V6 and a stick shift gets the same 17/28 EPA rating as a similarly equipped new 'Stang, and the V6 automatic Camaro gets 18/27 (slightly behind the Ford, but if you opt for the Camaro 2LS with its V6, automatic and 2.92 rear axle ratio, you'll be looking at 19 and 30).
RTR Spec 5 Concept shows off 2015 Ford Mustang's drifty potential
Wed, 05 Nov 2014Meet the Ford Mustang RTR Spec 5 Concept, a fully functional drift car that, according to our team in Sin City, has been doling out demo drifts in front of the Las Vegas Convention Center.
Destined to be the flagship of RTR's Tactical Performance Line, the Spec 5 Concept is, in addition to its 5.0-liter Aluminator V8 engine, chock full of performance parts that you can buy for your very own 2015 Mustang. In addition to the Ford Racing engine, the OEM parts supplier has lent the Spec 5 an aluminum radiator and a close-ratio six-speed transmission.
ASD Motorsports provided the front lower control arms, while the car itself rides on a fully customized coilover suspension. Magnaflow and American Racing have provided the exhaust system and headers, respectively. 20-inch HRE wheels, designed for RTR, are wrapped in sticky Nitto rubber.
Ford trademarking 'Mach 1,' possibly for Mustang
Thu, 24 Oct 2013A legendary name might be accompanying the redesigned, 2015 Mustang when it finally makes its world debut - Mach 1. Stumbled upon by the team at Ford Authority, the Mach 1 title was found in a trademark filing with the US Patent and Trademark Office, and would revive a name last used on the fourth-generation, 2003 Mustang.
While the the 2003 vintage was well and good, the Mach 1 is really remembered for a three-year run from 1969 to 1971 - it's best to just forget the emissions-choked 1972 to 1978 Mach 1s - when power output ranged from a modest 250 horsepower with the two-barrel, 351-cubic-inch Windsor V8 to "375 hp" (actual output was rumored to be well north of 400 horsepower) with the righteous, 429-cubic-inch Super Cobra Jet V8.
What does the title hold for the sixth-generation Mustang? It's tough to say. The fanatics at Ford Authority seem to think Mach 1 could take the place of the Shelby GT500 at the top of the Mustang hierarchy, which sounds like a valid argument. At the same time, we could see the SVT Cobra moniker returning for the flagship model, and the Mach 1 doing battle with the Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 (unless the Boss 302 were to return). Confounding things is the historical precedent - the Mach 1 was responsible for the death of the Mustang GT in 1969, so it might make sense as a volume performance model.
