 "General George" is for sale.
I am a older adult Ford collector and I purchased this Bronco from an elderly gentleman almost a year ago. He used it to pull his small bass boat to the lake. I had intended on keeping it but I have too many Fords (and too many Broncos) and am thinning out the herd.
It has 150,786  original  miles on it. I have only driven it about 75 miles since I have owned it. I have stored it in my shop since.
This California rust free truck (yes... California rust free for you rust belt people) was originally Eddie Bauer green and tan. The paint was excellent except on the hood where like many fords of that era it had begun to peel because it was thin. I had intended on making it into a pre-runner but I have too many projects
Carfax shows it to have been in a "minor accident" on the left front about seven years ago.. ..I cannot find any evidence of same. The fender/door is original.. there was no filler in it.. there is no evidence of it ever being off the truck that I can find.. the paint all matches and all the screws or bolts appear to have never been removed. When I queried EBAY/Carfax on this they said it could have been anything like vandalism and didn't necessarily reflect any accident. Again..I cant find any evidence of it . The truck drives,to me, like new. Drives straight pulls strong no smoke etc.

The prior owner had put a nice Alpine AM-FM CD player in it. The truck does not appear to have been smoked in . The high back Eddie Bauer cloth seats and interior are in excellent condition, without rips, tears or any unusual wear. The carpet is excellent  and has no stains or heavy wear. The seats have the correct rear map pocket option  The center console is excellent and without wear. The A/C blows cold and everything works. The rear window goes up and down like new. All the gaskets are excellent. It has KYB dual shocks on the front (factory ford dual shock bracket option) and single KYB's on the rear. The truck was bone stock before I lightly modded it. The only non factory thing the prior owner did to it was install a push button start switch. I assume the ignition switch didn't work at some point. The auto pointer is also non functional. I never took it apart to fix it as it doesn't affect operation whatsoever. The truck drives like new. I carefully inspected it top to bottom. . There are no scrapes on the under carriage/skid plates confirming the prior owners assertion that the truck was never off road, I doubt it's been in 4 x 4 its entire life. The truck passed smog easily and cleanly after I replaced a leaking vacuum line (which they initially failed it for). The engine is bone stock and has not been modified in anyway. The rear driveshaft has been upgraded by driveline specialties. The title is clear and the registration is current. It has the factory tow package.

I will not be driving the truck and it will arrive with the same mileage as advertised

I have looked at the other Broncos with similar mileage and know what the dealers do to them.. clear spray the engine compartments, spray black paint on  the frames, put shiny stuff everywhere giving the illusion that the truck is detailed,, yuck,,,,  I didn't do any of that because this truck is clean and if you didn't know the mileage you would think it had 50k on it not 150k.. its cleaner than the "low milers"  advertised on here

I have done the following to it;

It has a military theme to it;

Every single fluid, (oil ,trans, brake, radiator, diffs, transfer case) and all filters were professionally changed out or flushed and refilled on the truck.
Installed new front premium super stop pads on it (the existing pads were at 40 percent)
Replaced the original wheels and tires with (5) Hankook 31 x 10.50 x 15 radials all terrains on MB 72 8 hole  aluminum wheels (flat black) with locks on all wheels and spare, blackwall out, black powdercoated lug nuts and caps... these have zero miles on them. The front wheel wells have "big mudder" (not depicted in pictures) mud flaps. I did not drill any holes in the truck and everything bolts up to factory holes. The original stainless wheel well moldings were removed but will be included). I even looked at little details like where the rear tire carrier rubber bumper hits the body and put an aluminum wear plate. This keeps the rubber snubber from wearing the tailgate
The truck was extensively machine and hand sanded. There is a an aggregate golf-ball sized amount of filler on the entire truck used to fill a couple of small dings. The truck was then painted with two coats of epoxy primer (super tough) and then two coats of Military CARC 686 desert tan from Rapcoparts. It was painted by a shop that paints military and industrial shop equipment. It isn't a show quality paint job but it is excellent. Every piece that would unbolt was removed from the truck and prepped and painted separately. All the plastic pieces were removed and weren't "painted around". it isn't a "quickie look good" job.. it was done correctly. The paint is only a week old.
The front and rear bumpers were removed and the chrome was sandblasted to give tooth for the paint. The front bumper was shaved prerunner style and then carefully reinforced. If you didnt know what a stock bumper looks like you would never know this had been modified. The rear bumper was reinforced and two 10k d-rings were added.
All the light bulbs on the truck were changed out to Sylvania "HID style" and are brand new. They throw a nice bright white light
The truck has a brand new premium oversize battery.
The rear taillights were changed out to new Revco smoked versions (the original ones will be included in the truck)
I installed a brand new custom headliner "bearpaw" brown, all interior light lenses are excellent or new
I will include a set of tire chains for the truck. It will come with several sets of keys.
Brand new desert camo tire cover.

( I reserve the right to add matching chocolate chip desert camo seat covers to match the above tire carrier.. they arrived but did not fit correctly at time of auction and have been sent back to be re-made... since Im dealing with non-Americans I have no idea when they might come back..no promises here.. but if they come back in time for the sale and they fit correctly they will go with the truck)

I have done everything I can think of to represent the truck accurately. Again you can have anyone you like look it over.

If you have been looking for that special Bronco this is the one. I doubt there are many left in the US in such great condition. I realize buying a truck sight unseen from perhaps across the country is difficult. Please message me through EBAY with your phone number and I will be happy to call you and we can speak about any questions you might have.

I will cooperate with any shipper or any person you would like to have view the truck on your behalf.
I am in Redding California, close to the 5 freeway, up in the tip of Northern California

Full payment by cashiers check via Fedex or UPS within seven days of auction end less 500.00 deposit via paypal within 48 hours of auction end. Truck must be picked up within 14 days or by mutual arrangement. Im sure you would want it right away and I dont want the responsibility of storing what you own.

I reserve the right to sell locally if no bids.. all bids will be honored. I have many pictures of the truck before it was painted,,, including ones that show the sides and how straight the truck is.

The CARFAX score of 19 is bogus in my opinion.. this truck had one minor accident that didnt even require sheet metal removal . and one failed smog for a vacuum hose with a pinhole.. I am the fourth owner

People keep sending me questions as to what the truck needs mechanically ...it needs nothing.. I  would drive it across the country without hesitation

After Years Of Delays, Rear Visibility Requirements Move Closer To Reality

Fri, Jan 3 2014

Regulations that would require automakers to improve rear-view visibility on all new cars and light trucks are nearing completion after six years of delays. The U.S. Department of Transportation sent its proposed rear-visibility rules to the Obama administration for review on Christmas Day. The White House Office of Management and Budget now must finalize the regulations. The rule are intended to minimize the risk of pedestrian deaths from vehicles in reverse, a type of accident that disproportionately affects children. Already in 2014, two children have died from cars backing over them, driven in each case by the children's father. Specifics of the Transportation Department's proposal are not available during the review, but the rules are expected to compel automakers to install rear-view cameras as mandatory equipment on all new vehicles. That's what safety advocates have wanted all along. Thought they were pleased the proposed ruling had finally been issued, there was some worry Friday the final rules would omit the rear-view camera mandate. "We're encouraged, but we're also a little concerned about speculation the rear-view camera may not be in there," said Janette Fennell, the president and founder of Kids and Cars, a nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting children in and around vehicles. "I'm wondering where that might be coming from." On Thursday, The Automotive News had reported the possibility the new standards could offer an alternative to rear-view cameras, such as redesigned mirrors, that improved visibility. The Office of Management and Budget typically completes its reviews of new rules in 90 days, although that can be extended. OMB officials said Friday they do not comment on pending rules. The intent of the rules is to enhance rear visibility for drivers and prevent pedestrian deaths. Approximately 200 pedestrians are backed over in the United States each year, according to estimates from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Accidents Mostly Affect Children Roughly half the victims are children younger than age five. A government analysis concluded approximately half the victims -– 95 to 112 -– could be saved with new regulations. Yet the rules have arrived at a glacial pace. President George W. Bush signed legislation that had been passed with bipartisan Congressional support in 2008. But automakers have fought the idea of adding rear-view cameras, saying it is too expensive.

NHTSA investigating 725k Ford, Mercury vehicles for stalling issue

Mon, 25 Feb 2013

Owners of Ford Escape, Mercury Mariner, Ford Fusion and Mercury Milan models, listen up. According to a report on Automotive News, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has opened an investigation into these four vehicles totaling an estimated 725,000 units. The investigation appears to center around a malfunctioning throttle body on non-hybrid models of the 2005-2012 Escape and 2011-2012 Fusion. With Mercury dying off after the 2011 model year, this probe will also apply to the 2005 through 2011 Mariner and the 2011 Milan. There has been some discussion around the Escape stalling issue for some time now, but this investigation appears to be larger in scope than before.
Though not a recall yet, NHTSA's Office of Defects Investigation (ODI) has received 123 complaints of stalling or surging vehicles, while Ford itself has logged 1,472 complaints. The investigation report, which is posted below, seems to indicate that a faulty circuit board for the throttle body could cause the vehicle to go into limp mode, which, according to NHTSA, could cause complaints of both stalling and surging.

How the 2015 Ford Mustang will save your knees

Sat, 21 Jun 2014

The 2015 Mustang is one of the most hotly anticipated vehicles of the moment, and Ford continues to leak out interesting little details about its newest pony car. The latest info doesn't have anything to do with its quarter-mile time or handling, but if any of that goes drastically wrong, the innovative new glovebox-mounted airbag may prevent passengers from knee injuries.
All variants of the 2015 Mustang get the active knee airbag as standard, and it's the first vehicle in Ford's lineup to receive the system. The setup is actually quite simple and ingenious. The glovebox is made from a plastic outer panel that is attached to the inner door. Sandwiched between them is this new injection-molded plastic bladder that folds flat when in use. If the passenger-side airbag deploys, the system springs into action to act as a cushion for your knees. Compared to a traditional knee airbag that has to fully inflate, this arrangement is 65 percent lighter and can use a 75 percent smaller inflator. It's also basically invisible when you look at the glovebox door.
Ford spokesperson Ed Saenz declined to tell Autoblog whether the system will appear in other vehicles in the Blue Oval's lineup but said, "We're considering other applications." Provided it's effective, the approach seems too simple not to make its way to other products. Scroll down to watch a video showing how the glovebox-mounted knee airbag works.
