78 Custom Ford Bronco:

If you are looking for a Stock 78 Bronco to keep or modify this is a good one. The body is in excellent shape inside and out and underneath. It was bought new in North Carolina and second owner bought in NC and he said he drove from NC to FL many times  before he stayed down here.  I know it has been garage kept for the past 10+ years and the previous owner had it painted years back. It runs and drives great. Everything works on the Bronco,
like lights, signal gauges, etc and including the a/c!

It is a 1978 Ford Bronco Custom, 351M, C-6 automatic trans, power disc front brakes, power steering, A/C, and am/fm cassette stereo. It has the stock ford locking hubs and the dash pad has no cracks.  Front and rear chrome bumpers are in great shape. There is no lift on Bronco and has stock exhaust. The valve covers and breather have been replaced with aftermarket type. Manual windows in front electric rear window and the doors work and close as good as new.  It does show 60k miles but I believe it is 160k like I said the 2nd owner put some highway miles on it as far as I can tell by the way it looks.

Recent upgrades are:
Front bucket seats were reupholstered.
Rubber floor mat was replaced in front and back passengers area.
New spark plugs, air filter, oil filter, oil, trans filter screen and gasket, trans fluid, wiper blades and battery.
Replaced 33 gal fuel tank and sending unit.
Replace the electronic ignition module.
2 barrel carburetor was rebuilt.

Minor things:
The old module leaked its guts down the inside of the engine compartment where it is bolted its very sticky but does not hurt anything.
The custom emblem on the glove box has slid down about an inch for the Florida heat.
I have been driving some with the tires they have good tread  but they are older and will need replaced soon.
There are a couple of
small cracks or chips on door panels and cups.  not very noticeable just cosmetic.

This is the nicest 78 Bronco that I have ever seen would love to keep but I like the 66-77 Broncos style a bit more.
The reserve has been lowered. I am in central Florida if you are in the area come by for a drive you wont be disappointed.

Email any questions.

Here's what the UAW will be angling for in next year's contract negotiations

Mon, Dec 15 2014

The United Auto Workers union is about to enter a new round of negotiations with the Detroit Three automakers, and this time, the focus is on the end of the two-tier wage system. Introduced in 2007, the two-tier wage system was enacted to allow General Motors, Ford and Chrysler to categorize its hourly employees under two categories: Tier 1 for veteran employees with full rights and benefits, and Tier 2 for short-term or entry-level employees compensated under a different schedule. The idea was that the system would permit the automakers to invest more in their plants and hire new employees as part of their respective recovery plans without being saddled with all the costs associated with hiring full-time employees. Now that the automakers are (more or less) back on their proverbial feet, however, the UAW wants to see an end to the two-tier system, and will likely make that a center-point of its negotiations next year to replace the current arrangement that is scheduled to end in September 2015. Not all members of the UAW will necessarily be interested in ending the two-tier system, however. According to The Detroit News, some Tier 1 workers may be more interested in negotiating a raise in their hourly rate – something which they haven't received in almost a decade. Tier 2 workers, meanwhile, may be more motivated to keep the tiered system in place, as their arrangement includes provisions for profit-sharing payments that have seen the automakers pay out billions to so-called short-term employees in lump-sum payments. Reconciling the two competing demands from two categories of union members and presenting a united front in negotiations may prove the biggest challenge for the UAW's new president, Dennis Williams. And with the right to strike – something which was suspended during the last round of negotiations in 2011 – the union has a bigger bargaining chip in its pocket.

Man turns Ford Fiesta into a one-car band

Mon, 18 Nov 2013

The one-man band is a rather ridiculous idea, drawing up images of one person attempting to manipulate several instruments, at once, in a vain attempt at creating music. It's usually represented by silly scenes like this. Interestingly, the concept isn't much more successful when the "man" in "one-man band" is replaced with "car," as we see in this video.
It seems that someone rigged up and edited (699 times, we might add) a Ford Fiesta, a bucket, 12 PVC pipes and the natural sounds that a car makes to come up with a song. Now, we don't recognize the tune, so we've no idea if this is a cover or an original piece. And while it's hardly Beethoven, we have to admire the amount of effort the "conductor" went to in his attempt to turn a subcompact car into a musical instrument(s). Take a look (or listen) below for the entire video.

Your official Ford Transit specs are here, $29,565* to start

Wed, 04 Jun 2014

Ford has released the full list of pricing and specs on its new Transit, the replacement for the long-lived E-Series cargo van. Prices are set to start at $29,565 and can increase rapidly from there, depending on length, engine and wheelbase, among other options.
Let's talk first about those new engines. The base is the familiar 3.7-liter, naturally aspirated V6. It boasts 275 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque and can return up to 14 miles per gallon in the city and 19 mpg on the highway. This engine can also be adapted to run on LPG or compressed natural gas. Of course, there are better alternatives, for a price, the first of which is Ford's well-received, 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6. It packs 310 hp and a best-in-class 400 lb-ft of torque (available at just 2,500 rpm) while matching the naturally aspirated engine in both city and highway fuel economy.
Then, there's the diesel. With a 3.2-liter, five-cylinder diesel mill at its disposal, the Transit generates 350 lb-ft between 1,500 and 2,500 rpm, along with 185 hp. This engine hasn't been rated by the EPA, although we'd be really, really surprised if it didn't handily best either of the gas-powered engines in fuel efficiency. A six-speed automatic is standard, regardless of engine.
