I have a very nice original uncut matching numbers 76 bronco sport, 302 automatic 4x4. This bronco is probably the nicest original uncut bronco you will find that hasn't been restored. It is showing 51k miles, It has had some interior restored ( seats, door panels, rear panels, and headliner. Interior looks amazing ,if you are wanting it perfect, the exterior could use a paint job and has a couple small dings, but is original paint. Since 1979 it has been kept out of the weather and not had the top off of it in a very long time, I'm the 3rd owner of this vehicle and have a copy of the original title where it was sold in North Carolina. I have had a new ring and pinion installed(7-1-13), replaced master cylinder(8-27-12), replaced shocks, steering stabilizer, ball joints, and bushings(7-21-12) along with lots of other things inside and out. I have all paper work on what has been done, also have from ford where they ran the vin and sent me the paper work on what all came on this vehicle from factory. Paper work pictures available. This bronco drives and runs like a new vehicle, everything on the bronco works. It still has the original factory am radio in it, the original jack under the hood, hubcaps are the original that came on bronco. It has dual tanks and both work along with all guages. As much as we enthusiasts like to rail on the lowly Toyota Prius as the harbinger of death for all we hold dear, there's no denying the machine's absolute and interminable grip on the hybrid hatchback market in the United States. Toyota has so thoroughly sunk its teeth into the segment that you can clearly hear the automaker's incisors clacking against one another with the conclusion of each financial quarter. And there's little wonder why. Buyers can plop down less than $25,000 and have a runabout that can return up to an estimated 51 miles per gallon in the city, leaving every other entry on the market with precious little gristle to gnaw on.
Enter the 2013 Ford C-Max Hybrid. With its claimed 47 mpg combined, the funky little hatch from Europe already falls behind the 48 mpg city offered by the Prius, but that marginal sacrifice in fuel economy could be a small price to pay for buyers who want a credible alternative to the stalwart Toyota. Unfortunately, like the Fusion Hybrid, the C-Max Hybrid had trouble even approaching its Environmental Protection Agency estimates during our time with the car.
Ford partnering with MIT, Stanford on autonomous vehicle research
Fri, 24 Jan 2014Ask any car engineer what's the biggest variable in achieving fuel economy targets, and he'll tell you "the driver." If one human can't understand human driving behavior enough to be certain about an innocuous number like miles per gallon, how is an autonomous car supposed to figure out what hundreds of other drivers are going to do in the course of a day? Ford has enlisted the help of Stanford and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology to find out.
Starting with the automated Fusion Hybrid introduced in December, MIT will be developing algorithms that driverless cars can use to "predict actions of other vehicles and pedestrians" and objects within the three-dimensional map provided by its four LIDAR sensors.
The Stanford team will research how to extend the 'vision' of that LIDAR array beyond obstructions while driving, analogous to the way a driver uses the entire width of a lane to see what's ahead of a larger vehicle in front. Ford says it wants to "provide the vehicle with common sense" as part of its Blueprint for Mobility, preparing for an autonomous world from 2025 and beyond.
NHTSA probing 2000-2003 Ford Taurus and Mercury Sable models over throttle issue
Mon, 29 Oct 2012A potential issue with the speed control cable collar has got the 2003-20003 Ford Taurus and Mercury Sable under the spotlight of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. If the collar breaks it can cause the throttle to be stuck open.
The issue is limited to vehicles with the 3.0-liter V6 Duratec. There are just 50 complaints so far out of 310,000 cars, but the NHTSA has begun an investigation into whether a recall should be issued.
