1976 Ford Bronco Sport Loaded Uncut Original Paint Survivor Hd 4x4 on 2040-cars
Glendora, California, United States
Very rarely
these days do you come across an all original uncut, solid bodied, original paint Ford
Bronco Sport. Today you have done just that. This 1976
Ford Bronco Sport is loaded with power options, & is still wearing it
original coat of (best color) Tangerine paint. Power options include factory
power disk brakes, power steering, C4 automatic transmission, HD 4X4 suspension
package with 9 inch limited slip posi rear end 3.50:1 ratio, heavy duty Dana 44
front axle, & Dana 20 transfer case. Vehicle also comes with rare factory divider
panel (not pictured), which separates front seat area from truck bed. Anybody
considering buying an early Bronco should pay close attention to factory power
options, as they will save you thousands of dollars in upgrades. I also own a
1974 Bronco (shown in background pic) which came 3 speed manual, & manual
drum brakes. I spent nearly $4,000 converting it to correct auto trans &
power disk brakes! The Bronco I am selling today came FACTORY with these
options. The second important thing to consider is the rust factor. Early
Broncos are notorious for rusting out, this one is super solid! This Bronco
went straight to California when it was built, & has spent it’s entire life
in the hot, dry Central Valley. This truck has definitely been used, but not
abused. Mileage reads 58,209 which has rolled over 1 time, so I believe actual
mileage is 158,209 (undocumented). Prior owner is believed to be original, as
title shows ownership since 1983, just after loan payoff. Engine was said to be
rebuilt at 102,000, which means engine has 56,000 miles since rebuild (also
undocumented). Since the
Tangerine paint is original, there are no worries about hidden rust or accident
damage. All the minor bumps & bruises on this vehicle have nothing to hide.
It appears that the top of the roof was repainted 1 time, likely due to the hot
valley sun baking the paint. Mechanically
the vehicle is operational. The engine starts & runs smooth with plenty of V8
power. The transmission & transfer case shift into all gears in 2WD &
4WD. The auto trans should be serviced soon with new fluid & filter to
ensure a long life. A complete inspection of the brake system should also be performed prior to daily use since vehicle
sat a few years prior to my ownership. Brakes work fine now but a full
inspection is highly recommended. I removed the main fuel tank and had it cleaned,
rebuilt the factory carb, & replaced the fuel pump for smooth operation.
Reserve fuel tank has been bypassed as it still needs cleaned prior to
operation. This vehicle
is equipped with California emissions & should pass a CA smog check since
all the smog equipment & catalytic converter are in tact. An aftermarket
A/C system was added to vehicle but I removed the faulty ‘hangdown’ unit. All
the under hood components for the A/C are still in place. Finally, the
interior still has original seats & steering wheel. Dash pad has a cover
lay cap, & front floor has a new vinyl mat. Originally, vehicle had a beige
colored rubber mat set with Bronco logo in poor condition. I did save the mat
in case someone wants to duplicate it. Upon replacing mat it was discovered
that floors are very solid with only a few minor spots at front that required a
small repair. Overall,
this is an extremely hard to find, unrestored, hard loaded Bronco with the best
color available in 1976. Please read the ad carefully before bidding. Vehicle is
being sold strictly AS-IS, with no warranty expressed, written, or implied.
Inspections of vehicle are welcomed & encouraged! Vehicle is
for sale locally so this action can end at any time. If you wish to discuss
local sale & price please contact me at (626)652-2927. A
non-refundable $500 PayPal deposit is due in 24 hours of auction end. Full
& final payment is due in 3 business days of auction end by cash or bank
wire transfer only, no checks of any kind are accepted. There are no
refunds of any kind, & there will be no negotiating price after auction is
won so please do your homework and/or inspect vehicle before winning to insure
a smooth transaction. Thank you. |

Autoblog's guilty pleasure cars
Tue, Mar 10 2015Guilty pleasures are part of life – don't even try to pretend like you don't have one (or two, or six). In the non-automotive space, this could come down to that secret playlist in your iPhone of songs you'll only listen to when you're alone; or think of that one TV show you really do love, but won't admit to your friends. I've got plenty, and so do you. Going back to cars, here's a particularly juicy one for me: several years ago, I had a mad crush on the very last iteration of the Cadillac DTS. Oh yes, the front-wheel-drive, Northstar V8-powered sofa-on-wheels that was the last remaining shred of the elderly-swooning days of Cadillac's past. Every time I had the chance to drive one, I was secretly giddy. Don't hate me, okay? These days, the DTS is gone, but I've still got a mess of other cars that hold a special place in my heart. And in the spirit of camaraderie, I've asked my other Autoblog editors to tell me some of their guilty pleasure cars, as well – Seyth Miersma, as you can see above, has a few choice emotions to share about the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution. Read on to find out what cars make us secretly happy. Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG This decadent convertible is the epitome of the guilty pleasure. It's big, powerful, fairly heavy and it's richly appointed inside and out. It's a chocolate eclair with the three-pointed star on the hood. Given my druthers, I'd take the SL65 AMG, which delivers 621 horsepower and 738 pound-feet of torque. That output is borderline absurd for this laid-back convertible. I don't care. You don't need dessert. Sometimes you just crave it. The SL line is about the feel you get on the road. The roof is open. The air, sun and engine sounds all embrace you. It's the same dynamic you could have experienced in a Mercedes a century ago, yet the SL gives you the most modern of luxuries. An Airscarf feature that warms my neck and shoulders through a vent embedded in the seat? Yes, please. Sure, it's an old-guy car. Mr. Burns and Lord Grantham are probably too young and hip for an SL65. I don't care. This is my guilty pleasure. Release the hounds. – Greg Migliore Senior Editor Ford Flex I drove my first Flex in 2009 when my mother let me borrow hers for the summer while I was away at college. The incredibly spacious interior made moving twice that summer a breeze, and the 200-mile trips up north were quite comfortable.
Ford only automaker to make 2012 Buzz Rankings, Toyota most improved
Wed, 30 Jan 2013Ford landed itself a spot among the top 10 brands in the 2012 Buzz Rankings. The annual index scores 1,100 brands in 41 categories to determine which nameplates had the most positive buzz throughout the year.
For the third year in a row, Subway took the top honors overall with a score of 40.3, and Ford was the only automaker to break into the top 25 by earning a sixth-place finish overall. The manufacturer earned a score of 32.1 points, which was enough to push it up one spot from the 2011 Buzz Rankings. Honda managed 21.2 points overall, which is still well behind 25th-place Kohl's at 26.5 points. Toyota, Volkswagen and BMW all round out the top five automakers.
The 2012 Buzz Rankings also keep track of which brands improved the most over the past year, and this year, Toyota was the manufacturer with the largest leap forward. The Japanese automaker jumped from just 14 points in 2011 to 20.5 in 2012. Chrysler, Kia, Dodge and Volkswagen all saw sizable steps forward as well. Be sure to head over to the Brand Index site for more information.
Mustang Cobra Jet prototype garners $200k for charity at Barrett-Jackson
Wed, 02 Oct 2013A few weeks ago we brought you news of a one-off Mustang Cobra Jet that Ford was donating to charity. The car was set to be auctioned off by Barrett-Jackson in Las Vegas to benefit the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. Now that auction has taken place, bringing in an impressive $200,000 for MS research.
That's a lot of zeros for a Mustang, much less one you can't even drive on the street. But the unique pony car, bearing serial number 2014 BJMS CJXX1, packs a 5.0-liter supercharged V8, competition gearbox, wheelie bar, roll cage... all you could want, in short, in a turn-key drag racer. And all that for a good cause.
