Its never had so much as a spec of rust anywhere!
~The body and paint are outstanding! It was done about a year ago and has been gingerly driven and garaged since. Its laser straight with a nice deep finish. I would say its darn near flawless. It started as an all original Bronco Ranger with absolutely NO rust. It was stripped down and redone its its original color Limestone green poly. The paint was down right! All glass, trim, door handles, grill, tail lights, door locks, ect... were removed. It was meticulously prepped and came out beautiful! The factory Ranger stripes were re applied. Again, this is was a completely rust free, original Bronco to start. It still retains all of its original body panels. The under carriage, floors, frame and rockers are excellent! No rust, no scaling, no patching, no under coating gunk. Just nice, dry and original. Finding these good rust free, un-cut, un molested Broncos is getting nearly impossible. This is a good one! ~The truck runs and drives very well. Engine fires right up with no leaks, smoke, or funny noises. The transmission shifts smooth. Brakes are good. I have a brand new in the box front disc brake conversion that comes with the truck. Steering is tight. She goes straight down the road. 5 brand new Goodyear wrangler tires. ~The interior is all new. Seats were recovers in a Parchment Softside. Really pops with the green. It was kept pretty minimalist. No carpet was put back in. Its kind of nice that way. You see exactly what your getting. Ford says 70% of its models to get stop-start by 2017
Sun, 15 Dec 2013Ford is following up on a report we posted a few weeks back that the Blue Oval would be adding stop-start technology to its entire model range. Now, the Dearborn-based automaker has announced that the fuel-saving feature would be available on 70 percent of the company's range by 2017.
Ford claims the technology will improve fuel economy by around 3.5 percent, although its actual effect will vary based on how the owner drives - apparently up to a 10-percent improvement is possible for those who sit in heavy traffic (Los Angelenos, this means you). The latest recipient of the technology is the updated 2014 Ford Fiesta with the company's three-cylinder EcoBoost powerplant.
Part of the reasoning for the new addition has to do with cost. Ford claims the tech is affordable and easy to implement. "Simply put, Auto Start-Stop helps customers use less fuel, which is an important component of Ford's Blueprint for Sustainability," Ford's global powertrain vice president, Bob Fascetti, said.
'Born of a Blue Sky' brings the Amelia Island Concours to you
Fri, 03 May 2013The Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance has more clout every year and is getting a reputation as Pebble Beach minus the madness. Held in March this year, it celebrated Ducati and the 50-year anniversaries of Lamborghini, the Corvette Sting Ray, Porsche 911 and the Ford GT40.
Justin Lapriore was there, and seemingly everywhere, getting footage of the various wares on display on the lawns and the sand and the runway. The resulting video, Born of a Blue Sky, is a 16-minute survey of some of the finer sights and plenty of engine sounds. Check it out below.
Has the 2015 Ford Mustang gained hundreds of pounds?
Sun, 01 Jun 2014Automakers face competing interests when it comes to developing a new generation of vehicle. On the one hand, companies want to build their cars to be safer and better handling, with more equipment and maybe even larger dimensions over the model it's replacing. On the other hand, they strive to keep weight down to the benefit of both performance and fuel consumption. Usually something has to give, and in the case of the new 2015 Ford Mustang, those efforts may have resulted in a weight penalty of two or three hundred pounds.
This according to Blue Oval modifier Steeda Autosports, which states that "the 2015 Mustang ended up gaining 200-300 pounds in this remake". Despite the Mustang not being on the market yet, it would appear the leading Ford aftermarketer has been given early access to the 2015 model to help jumpstart its tuning efforts (a rather common development among trusted tuners). If Steeda's assertion is accurate, that would make the challenge of getting the new pony car up to speed for both Ford and aftermarket customizers like Steeda that much greater.
We're waiting for official word from Ford on the veracity of Steeda's claim, but if true, it's bound to be a bit of disappointing news for legions of Blue Oval performance enthusiasts. Watch this space for more.
