Believed to be numbers matching and is a very original type restoration.

75225 are the reputed original mileage on this vehicle. Original California vehicle, first sold in Los Angeles, with District Code ’71’ on the data plate tag in the glove compartment. This went to San Diego where it was kept in a garage for many years by the previous owner.  It still has original blue and yellow CALIFORNIA license plates on it. Currently registered.

Recent restoration on body, paint, interior, undercarriage, and floors. The work performed was completed in 2013.

The 302 V8 is believed to be the matching numbers, original engine. It remains equipped with factory 2 barrel Motorcraft Carburetor, original intake manifold, unmodified cast iron exhaust manifolds, original air cleaner, and - even the fan shroud and windshield wash tank are still in place.
Engine runs strong and also has dual exhaust.
3 Speed transmission shifts through all gears.

Please see pictures of the undercarriage which looks very clean.

Uncut body, painted in January of 2013 with a high quality catalyzed urethane paint in Calypso Coral, which was the original color for this vehicle. The paint code is ‘1.’ This was a quality paint restoration done by a skilled professional with many years (20+) as an automotive paint technician. The all steel panels were stripped of all chrome and paint, it was fully primed, block sanded, primed again, block sanded, and then when the panels looked just right, the topcoat was applied. After time was allowed for the urethane color coat to cure, it was color sanded and buffed with varying grades of fine sandpaper, beginning with 1200 and succeeding up to 1500/2000 grits. The paint was then buffed to the high luster that you see here. The Calypso Coral was also reapplied to the engine bay.
The spare tire rack was removed, repainted in Calypso Coral, and was reinstalled on the Bronco Sport with an original steel wheel full sized spare.
The grill has been painted silver, just like it was originally, as part of the Sport option.
The full hardtop was painted on the inside and the outside in white catalyzed enamel.
New seals. Upper and lower door seals are new along with new window ‘fuzzies’ / window anti rattle kits on both doors.
Chrome has been purchased new and added to the truck. The door handles have been replaced, the bumpers have been replaced new, front and rear. The door mirrors are new. New SPORT fender emblems, etc.
New lenses were also added.

Still has the original bright aluminum hubcaps and the factory steel wheels.
There is a Class 2 or Class 3 trailer hitch on the rear, I can’t remember which, but you can tow some things if you need to.

Extremely clean new interior!

The floors were stripped down and then several coats of spray on bed liner were applied for durability. The seats went into the upholstery shop and were rebuilt.
Factory style interior was redone on the original seats, in parchment. Front bucket seat upholstery is new, rear seat upholstery is new. New foam padding on all three seats. Upholstery work was all done at the end of 2012 and has perhaps 15 miles on the installation. The door panels are new, new armrests on the front door panels/ new armrests on the rear seat, and new door cups. Dash was painted parchment to match as was original. The hardtop was also painted inside for the correct white contrast.
Original steering wheel and original horn ring (commonly lost)
Inside and installed are the original visors and windshield wiper motor cover.
Came with the optional dual fuel tanks. I believe it needs a fuel gauge sending unit (50.00 part, gauge not indicating).
This is truly an original piece of American history, which you can own for a very fair price. Please place your bids early, as this is also offered for sale locally. The reserve is conservative and should be affordable to most of you who are looking for a quality early Ford Bronco. Inquiries as to the reserve amount will be ignored. If you wish to purchase it outright with an offer consistent with current market values, then you are invited to email a phone number to contact you.

Please remember that this is a legal auction and your winning bid is a contract to purchase the vehicle.

2015 Gordon McCall's Motorworks Revival

Thu, Aug 13 2015

Considered the big kick off of the major festivities surrounding Monterey Car Week, this year's Gordon McCall's Motorworks Revival certainly didn't disappoint. For those unable to make it to the California coast, our own Drew Phillips was on hand to snap some of the beautiful vehicles on display for this gorgeous gallery. Held annually at the Monterey Jet Center, the event is always a feast for the eyes by collecting planes, a gang of exotic supercars, and some the top cars crossing the auction block over the coming days, like a Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda convertible. The Ford GT both new and old was a major attendee at this year's party. Among them, the Petersen Museum brought along an original racecar and a GT40 MKIII to promote an upcoming exhibit. The classics were complimented by the latest version that has continued to keep tongues wagging. The GT wasn't the only classic with a modern update there. Singer used the posh event for the North American debut of its stunning restoration of the Porsche 911 Targa. Shelby American was also at the revival for the public unveiling of the 50th Anniversary Daytona Coupe. On the more modern front, Honda was in attendance with the future NSX and one of the McLaren F1 cars that the company's engine powers. For further proof of the ritzy folks that attend this soiree, Pagani and Koenigsegg both had stands to show off their extremely quick wares.

Monsoon rains disrupt production for Ford, BMW in India

Wed, Dec 2 2015

Even modern production techniques can be stymied by Mother Nature. This was demonstrated most recently in India, as torrential, monsoon rains caused a deluge that forced multiple automakers to suspend production. Ford, Renault, and BMW all halted work at their Indian facilities around the southern city of Chennai, also known as Madras. The annual rains disrupted public transport around the city, preventing employees from making the trek into city's factories. According to Automotive News, Chennai saw 48 inches of precipitation last month alone, which is more than Seattle, WA saw in all of 2014. While Ford and BMW closed things down for all of December 1, Renault just cancelled a pair of shifts at its Chennai factory. This is the second time in the past month that automakers in southeast India have been forced to stop production due to severe flooding, and things aren't likely to improve. According to The Weather Channel, forecasts call for thunderstorms over five of the next seven days, while the chance of rain won't fall below 80 percent until December 8. Ford, Renault, and BMW are far from the only automakers that could stand to be impacted by the rains. The city has been nicknamed "The Detroit of India" for its extreme automotive presence. Daimler, Hindustan, Hyundai, Mitsubishi, and Nissan all own factories in the region. The 1965 Ford Mustang could have looked a lot different

Fri, May 8 2020

The 1965 Ford Mustang is unquestionably an automotive design icon, and nearly every generation of Mustang has some connection to that original car. Because it's such a universally-known vehicle, we were amazed to see all the different designs that were being considered. Head of Ford's archives Ted Ryan recently shared photos of design proposals for the original Mustang on Twitter that he and Jamie Myler found, and we reached out to them to find out more. As Ryan initially noted, the photos were taken on August 19, 1962, and they are proposals for the Ford Mustang. Apparently Ford had committed to doing a Falcon-based youth-oriented car at this point, and it did have plans to launch the car in 1964 for the 1965 model year. But after having little success with early design proposals, the company asked all of its design studios — the Advanced Studio, Lincoln-Mercury Studio and Ford Studio — to submit proposals. With only about two years before the planned launch, Ford was understandably short on time, and it's believed that the studios only had a month to create and present these designs. Lincoln-Mercury design proposal View 8 Photos The majority of the designs, a total of five, came from the Advanced Studio, and part of this was because they already had a couple of concept designs in reserve it could present. Two other models representing three design possibilities came from Lincoln-Mercury, and just one model with two options came from Ford. The Advanced Studio proposals are shown in the gallery at the very top of this article, and the Lincoln-Mercury and Ford proposals are in the gallery directly above this paragraph. The Advanced Studio's most radical design is the one that was clearly related to the Mustang I concept that would be shown later that year with huge wraparound rear glass, turbine-inspired bumpers and enormous side scoops. The other proposals from the studio were more conservative, featuring simple lines, grilles reminiscent of the Falcon, and one even borrowing the jet-thruster-style taillights made famous on the Thunderbird. Lincoln-Mercury had some impressively bold designs, particularly its fastback that had buttresses to extend the shape all the way to the tail. This car had two different side trim possibilities. The other Lincoln-Mercury design was toned down a bit, but had two interesting possibilities for side detailing, as well as some crisp, low-profile tail fins.
