1970 Bronco on 2040-cars
Bridgehampton, New York, United States
|
Hello, up for sale is an incredible fully rebuilt 1970 Ford Bronco with an off frame restoration including all brand new parts with Ford F-150 transmission and engine, raised suspension, drive train, electrical system, wheels, brakes, tires, large gas tank, custom 1952 Ford Blue paint job with detailed hood and doors. Virtually everything was replaced or restored. This truck is also equipped with an electric wench, kill switch, auxiliary electric fan, spare tire and large wheels with bubble tires. I purchased the truck five years ago from an American Airline mechanic who built it from the ground up. This was his third Ford Bronco and was forced to sell it due to college tuition. He gave me over $35,000 dollars in receipts for the restoration. The truck has under 25,000 miles which is artificially high due to the large wheels. There are no dents but there is body rust some minor scratches by the spare and under the black interior coating as seen in THE PICTURES full disclosure, we are selling the truck as I purchased it, As Is. I am sure a body shop can remove it easily and I always felt it gave the Bronco some character. The truck starts right up every time and has fuel injection. This Bronco can handle almost any terrain and designed to be a rock crawler, however we used it to go back and from the beach. It is a four speed manual transmission with a separate stick for putting it into four wheel drive. There is a special system to ease the brakes but I never used it. There is a tachometer mounted to the steering wheel and a fire extinguisher that looks cool, but never used. This truck turns head whenever I drive it and many people have tried to buy it over the years. Currently in our summer home in Bridgehampton, NY if you want to see it in person Please message for all offers and questions. Will respond quickly and do not hesitate for anything. Every offer will be considered. Buyer pays shipping. Happy Bidding! **For international inquires please contact me. (502) 565-2185 please text before calling. On Apr-15-14 at 14:33:09 PDT, seller added the following information: Just thought I'd drop you a note in case you wanted to post it for everyone to see. I know that Bronco very well. Even though it was not "built" by the previous owner, it was from Tulsa, Ok. Darrel Lewis built the truck originally and sold it to the PO. Darrel built the motor (stout 351W), which has a Howell fuel injection system on it, built and installed the NP435 and much more. From there, Gordon Bailie, owner of Bailie Bilt (well known builder/fabricator in Tulsa, Ok) built the roll bar, bumpers, tire carrier, ram assist, heim steering, paint and body work and many many other things. The truck has a NP435 4-speed manual transmission in it. |

Shelby GT350 Mustang limited to 137 units for 2015 model year
Tue, Apr 28 2015Interest in the 2015 Ford Shelby GT350 and GT350R Mustangs is already at a fever pitch, thanks performance goodies like a flat-plane-crank V8 and MagneRide dampers. Ford is ensuring demand stays stratospheric through at least the first half of the year, too, by keeping production of these muscular coupes very limited. In fact, just 137 of them in total are leaving the factory for the 2015 model year. As a way to commemorate the Shelby Mustang's 50th anniversary as a performance powerhouse, Ford is building just 37 examples of the 2015 GT350R. This is also a way to pay homage to Carroll Shelby. In 1965, the racing genius originally planned to build 35 GT350 production models, plus two prototypes. However, documents indicate only 34 of the ones meant for customers ever left the workshop. Now, he has gotten his wish. There are also 100 examples of the standard 2015 GT350 on the way. Of those, 50 get the Technology Package that includes things like MagneRide, a navigation system with Sync 3, and dual-zone climate control. The other 50 get the Track Package that has added cooling for the engine, transmission and differential, a strut tower brace, and the high-tech, magnetic dampers. Bear in mind, this limited output is only for the 2015 model year, not the calendar year. For the automotive world, 2016 should start in just a few months and allow for even more Shelby Mustangs to hit the streets. The original Shelby GT350, introduced in 1965, established Mustang's performance credentials on racetracks around the world. The all-new Shelby GT350, featuring the most powerful naturally aspirated Ford production engine ever, re-establishes Mustang as a world-class sports car. Only 100 Shelby GT350 models will feature a 2015 model year designation before production switches over to 2016. Of these, 50 will be equipped with the Technology Package and 50 equipped with the Track Package.
Official USPS Muscle Cars stamps coming to a mailbox near you
Thu, 21 Feb 2013As much as our digital lives have cut down on our trips to the post office, there are still times that sending "snail mail" is necessary. With us car lovers in mind and philately in their hearts, the good folks at the United States Postal Service will introduce a new stamp design called "Muscle Cars" starting on February 22.
Designed by artist Tom Fritz, the new collection of stamps consist of five classic muscle cars: 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona, 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS, 1967 Shelby GT-500, 1966 Pontiac GTO and 1970 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda. In addition to just the stamps, the USPS is also commemorating the new series with plenty of collectable memorabilia. Previous car-related stamps include 50s Sporty Cars from 2005 and 50s Fins and Chrome from 2008.
Former Cadillac boss Butler takes Ford tech job
Tue, 07 Jan 2014When Don Butler made the surprising decision to leave his post as Cadillac's VP of global strategic development, it was a surprise. Citing a desire to "recalibrate, reassess my priorities" in that August announcement, it wasn't entirely clear where Butler - a virtual General Motors lifer after spending nearly 30 years with the company - would end up. Turns out he took a trip to Dearborn.
Butler has taken a position in the newly created position of Executive Director of Connected Vehicles and Services at Ford, where he'll be responsible for the Blue Oval's global connectivity strategy. "Not only does Don understand the connected car landscape, but probably just as important, he understands customer expectations," said Raj Nair, who, as Group Vice President of Global Product Development, is Butler's new boss. "Having a leader with technology experience both inside and outside the industry is a rare combination - we're excited to have Don join our team."
As Ford has received its fair share of flak for the sometimes recalcitrant MyFord Touch infotainment system and its Sync voice-controls, it appears that Butler has his work cut out for him.
