Matching numbers original Bronco. I purchased to re-sell, from the long time owner who inherited it from his father. Unrestored, uncut. 302 cubic inch V8 with three speed manual transmission. Original 139,000 miles.
Starts easy; runs decent; seems really dependable. Good clutch action. Does not oil smoke or run hot. All lights work including toggled fog lamps. Brakes seem safe and firm. 4x4 hubs work-lock/unlock and center 4wd floor engagement working correctly. Door locks, window mechanisms, & driver's wiper works. Speedometer works; I'm verifying gauges. windshield washer buzzes when button pushed ( no fluid put in yet ).
FAIRLY NEW PARTS: battery, tires & radiator.
The owner said he doesn't think the top was ever taken off and the winshield has not been down in years (all looks to be removable/operational). Spare tore never on.
There was carpet and a rubber underlay mat (initially held down w/double sided tape) in the back cargo area. I removed all of it to expose any needs, clean it up & show positive conditions (or negative if one wants to focus that direction). Yes, there is some rust repair needs. The good: the original floors are all still there. The driver side had a metal sheet screwed over it's usual holes and the passenger side is more solid. Both doors are really good considering. The passenger door lower hinge bolt to body mounting will need metal re-inforcement. Both doors close very solid. The hood & roof are near ding free with the hood having a paint peel spot (see picture). There is also some bubbling on hood's front lip w/no holes. The tailgate & lift window work like new. A new tailgate can be gotten at Bronco Graveyard.com. The present tailgate works without flaw even though it can be seen rusty city.
All the glass is excellent. An old plastic film tint is peeling/bubbling on mostly the back side windows & should be removed (peels off w/some coaxing).

What an Atlas-based Ford F-150 might look like
Thu, 27 Jun 2013Just ahead of January's Detroit Auto Show, surprising rumors pegged Ford as revealing some sort of F-150 concept, perhaps as a hurried effort to deflate some of the buzz building around General Motors' new Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra twins, which were also making their auto show debut. Those rumblings turned out to be true, as Ford rolled into the Motor City with its Atlas concept (inset, right), touting the truck's bold styling as a precursor to the next-generation F-Series.
The show truck featured all kinds of clever details, including active wheel shutters and a front air dam that raised and lowered to improve aerodynamics while preserving off-road ability. It also had a genuinely snarly face. And it's that pugnacious snout that may well be on its way to production. The good folks at TopSpeed have worked up the plausible-looking artist's rendering above by cross-referencing the Atlas concept with what little has been revealed from recent spy shots. The look is toned-down pretty dramatically from the concept truck, but its Atlas roots are clear, with a massive three-bar grille and bracket-shaped headlamps hiding a next-generation EcoBoost engine. In the rendering, the show truck's deeply contoured hood and roofline have been ditched and larger, more traditional side mirrors have been fitted - all likely concessions in the move to production sheetmetal.
While Ford has yet to officially announce when it will unveil the 2015 F-150, all signs point to next year's Detroit Auto Show - one year after the Atlas shrugged off GM's new pickups.
Inside Ford's high-tech climate chamber
Sat, Dec 27 2014There are two ways an automaker can test its vehicles in extreme climates: it can send said vehicle around the world – from Death Valley to the Arctic Circle – in search of the harshest weather, or it can recreate those conditions in an enclosed environment. We're sure that many automakers undertake some combination of both, but in this latest video clip, Ford shows us around inside it's state-of-the-art climate chamber. At its Driveability Test Facility in Allen Park, MI – inaugurated in 2010 just across the street from the Roush Technology Center – Ford can simulate all sorts of extreme conditions. It can drop the temperature down to -40 degrees Fahrenheit or raise it up to 130, and take it up to a simulated 12,000 feet above sea level or drop it down to 280 feet below. blast it with 150-mile-per-hour winds. It can control the level of humidity, approximate the intensity of the sun and even blast the test vehicle with artificial snow, just like your favorite ski resort. The facility strikes us as an engineering feat as impressive as some of the vehicles it's used to test, but don't take our word for it – scope it out for yourself in this brief two-minute video clip, which even includes some helpful tips for winter driving this holiday season and beyond. Tier 1 suppliers call GM the worst OEM to work with
Mon, 12 May 2014Among automakers with a big US presence, General Motors is the worst to work for, according to a new survey from Tier 1 automotive suppliers, conducted by Planning Perspectives, Inc.
The Detroit-based manufacturer, which has been under fire following the ignition switch recall and its accompanying scandal, finished behind six other automakers with big US manufacturing operations. Suppliers had issues with trust and communications, as well as intellectual property protection. GM was also the least likely to allow suppliers to raise their prices in the face of unexpected increases in material cost, all of which contributed to 55 percent of suppliers saying their relationship with GM was "poor to very poor."
GM's cross-town competitors didn't fare much better. Chrysler finished in fifth place, ahead of GM and behind Dearborn-based Ford, which was passed for third place this year by Nissan. Toyota took the top marks, while Honda captured second place.
