1968 Ford Bronco Uncut - Original Body, Great Condition 4x4 68 on 2040-cars
Dallas, Texas, United States
1968 Ford Bronco Original Uncut Body. This is a great restoration
candidate if you are wanting a Bronco in great shape, with not very much
work needed. Runs and drives great, no leaks, 3 speed on the tree.
Starts up quickly and doesn't smoke. Recently inspected (7/2013). No
major dents or rust on the exterior of the vehicle-- looks great from
10ft. Removable hardtop with 302 Engine - the engine is not original and is an 80's 302 that I've gone through and does not leak, installed by the PO.
I purchased it from a gentleman that had the bronco for 18 years, and it was well taken care of-- there are approximately 80K miles, and I have no way to tell if they are original, but they could be based upon the condition of the vehicle--he even had the original keys! From what I know, has been a Texas vehicle all its life. I believe it has a dealer installed A/C with an original york compressor. Rims and Tires are in great condition, both gas tanks work and can be filled. Bronco does not have a rear seat, and has a divider behind the seat as if it had a truck cab at some point. Bed is carpeted with black carpet. Selling because I've got too many projects and too many cars (3). Since I bought the bronco, the below is what I've done to the vehicle: 1. Pertronix Ignition - No more points, faster start, more power to sparkplugs 2. Pertronix Coil, 40,000 Volts 3. New Sparkplugs 4. New High Performance Sparkplug Wires 5. New Harmonic Balancer 6. Went through engine, repainted parts, installed all new intake gaskets, oil pan gasket, timing cover gaskets, etc 7. Installed new heater box gaskets and patched cracks in heater gasket 8. New Horn 9. Rebuilt Autolite 2100 Carb 10. New Brake Shoes and Drums on Rear 11. New Fuel Sending units for main and fuel tank. 12. New Fuel Filler Hose 13. Replaced Exhaust Donuts (no leaks) 14. New Turn Signal Wiring/Cam 15. New Turn Signal Lever 16. New 4x4 Shifter Handle Now the bad, (short list) 1. Minor rust in passenger floor, and surface rust in driver floor (has been replaced). 2. Top has rust-through in the rear sides where by the back hatch and other minor surface rust 3. 4WD Shift Lever Needs Replacement 4. Rust Hole in Passenger Kick Panel area (size of a quarter) Gets looks everywhere you go. Have the original 1968 Key Set and clear blue texas title. No warranties expressed or implied. Please ask any and all questions that you have, and come look at the vehicle before you buy, as there will be no refunds for buyer's remorse. If you need any additional pictures, please let me know. Buyer to pay $500 deposit within 24 hours of auction end, and remainder of purchase price within 7 days or car will be relisted and negative feedback left. Cash/Cashiers Check only. No trades or loans. Buyer is responsible for all shipping coordination and costs. |

What next for Alan Mulally?
Wed, 23 Apr 2014Alan Mulally has emerged as a hero when it comes to American manufacturing. He came to Ford in 2006 after serving as head of Boeing's commercial aircraft division, streamlined operations, sold off the costly elements of its Premier Automotive Group and saved Ford from having to be bailed out by the federal government like its cross-town rivals Chrysler and General Motors did. But as we reported mere days ago, he's widely expected to step down from the chief executive's office at Ford shortly.
So what's next for one of the most successful executives in the business? Hard to say, but don't expect Mulally to disappear into retirement. Though he didn't ultimately take the top job at Microsoft, industry insiders expect to see him in another influential position - likely as a board director or even chairman of another company. (We say "another company" and not Ford because while Bill Ford may have stepped aside as CEO to bring Mulally on board in the first place, we don't see him giving up his chairmanship of the board also.)
Mulally has likely already lined up his next move, and could either announce what that move will be as soon as Ford confirms Mark Fields as his successor, or could wait awhile. Insiders speculate that he could leverage his transportation and aerospace experience into a position at General Electric or a major airline, his manufacturing expertise to benefit a company like Procter & Gamble or his management skills at a consultancy firm.
Jay Leno's Garage goes eco with Ricardo HyBoost
Mon, 17 Mar 2014"Now before you turn away, this is not another boring hybrid car thing..." Despite the slightly defensive introduction from Jay, the latest episode of Jay Leno's Garage is actually pretty fascinating. The Ricardo HyBoost is a 2009 Ford Focus that has had a 1.1-liter engine swapped in for the stock 2.0-liter four. That might not get you performance enthusiasts out there fired up, until, that is, you hear that the 1.1L is also fed by both a turbocharger and an electrically driven supercharger for an instant-on "torque-fill" effect. Sounds about right, considering that Ricardo engineering is part of the genius behind the McLaren P1.
Perhaps most exciting of all, the Ricardo folks say that the package should run somewhere in the neighborhood of $1,100. A sort of performance-hybrid that makes sense for the frugal driver and the enthusiast one, then. There's a lot more to the HyBoost, all of which can be seen in the video below.
Daimler consulting with Ford about 3-cylinder engines
Mon, 27 May 2013Soon enough, Ford will offer its 1.0-liter EcoBoost three-cylinder engine under the hood of the Fiesta here in the United States, building on the success of the small powerplant overseas. In fact, this success has caused other automakers to take notice, and according to Automotive News Europe, Daimler is now talking to Ford about this engine for use in its own products.
In other markets, Ford offers the 1.0-liter mill under the hood of the Focus (we had the chance to sample this package on our home turf), as well as the B-Max MPV. For this new collaboration, Daimler would use the turbo-three in the next-generation Smart ForTwo, as well as the Renault Twingo, which the German automaker will be collaborating on as part of its alliance with Renault-Nissan. Speaking to AN, a Mercedes-Benz engineer called the 1.0-liter mill an "interesting and impressive engine."
In exchange for details about the EcoBoost inline-three, Daimler will supply Ford with information regarding its Euro6 stratified lean-burn gasoline engine, which is found in the new E-Class sedan.
