Super clean and solid 1966 Bronco 1/2 cab truck. Original origin was FL until a few years ago. The only option it was ordered with was the PTO driven front bumper wench which works perfectly.  Originally it did not have a radio or heater but I install a heater a couple of years ago for winter driving on dry days only.  I built a tow hook which has a wrench and cable but is not functional just for looks which is a real attention getter.  New owner can simply unbolt the tow hook and lift out of bed if so desired.  This Bronco has never been cut or patched up.  Originally it was a full cab but several years ago the fiberglass cab and fiberglass hood was installed.  I have installed new seats which are red and white along with a console.  Also installed a new rebuilt steering column because the old one had wear and shifting into second was tricky. Wheels are original 1979 F-150 aluminum polished with new Good Year Rangler tires.  When I bought the little truck a few years ago it dripped a little oil so I removed the engine and changed all gaskets along with clutch parts etc.  Now it does not drip a drop of oil anywhere from front to back.  The little Bronco has never been lifted or mechanically altered in anyway.  It drives down the road was well as most any new car and does not wonder or sway.  The 170 6 cyl actually gets really good gas mileage and is such fun to run about in.  Don't be scared to bid on this Bronco fearing of buying someone's junk, it is not junk in anyway shape or form.  I am happy to ask any questions to the best of my knowledge.  618-443-8055

Mercury rises around sexy Cougar pack

Sat, May 30 2015

With a slightly larger body and a more luxurious interior, the Mercury Cougar doesn't carry quite as much cachet among pony car enthusiasts as the venerable Ford Mustang. But don't try to make that argument around Cougar super-fan Mike Brown. Since starting his Cougar collecting in 1988, Brown has become an absolute expert on the model, and he claims to have owned 400 of the Mercury pony cars in that time. Ten of them are in his collection today, not to mention a heap of spare parts in the garage. Check out some of the rarer members of Brown's fleet and allow him to tell you about them in this interesting interview from Electric Federal.

Michigan museum offers Model T driving classes

Sun, 29 Dec 2013

Halfway between Detroit and Chicago, there is a car museum that gives visitors a unique level of interaction with antique cars. The Gilmore Car Museum in Hickory Corners, MI has a driver's training class to teach people of any age to learn how to drive a Ford Model T.
From the crank starter to the column-mounted throttle control, this driving school teaches people all there is to know about driving and operating a Model T. Each class lasts about two and a half hours and is only open to 18 students. There are ten sessions planned for 2014 - twice a day on May 3, June 22, July 22, August 23 and September 14. The class costs $95 (or $85 for members), and it also includes a tour of the museum's automobile collection.
In addition to this driving school, the museum has plenty of exhibits on the property, and it's open all but three days per year (Easter, Christmas and New Year's Day) with free admission for school field trips and active military. Be sure to check out the Gilmore Car Museum's website or visit them on Facebook for more info.

Ward's Automotive Ten Best Engines of 2014 dominated by diesels, turbos

Thu, 12 Dec 2013

With the Car and Driver Ten Best decided, the North American Car and Truck of the Year finalists announced and Cadillac, Ram and Subaru chalking up wins with Motor Trend, it's fair to say that the automotive awards season is in full swing. The next set of trophies to be handed out will be from Ward's Automotive, which has announced the winners of its 2014 10 Best Engines.
The latest contest was marked by the widespread emergence of diesel power and the continued success of turbocharged engines. There was even an electric motor on this year's list. In fact, only three of the ten winners were naturally aspirated and only two winners returned from last year.
"We weren't looking to throw the bums out, as they might say about an election. We were just really impressed with the flood of new powertrains," said Ward's Automotive Editor-in-Chief Drew Winter. Those new powertrains include the 83-kilowatt electric motor from the Fiat 500e, the 1.0-liter, EcoBoost three-cylinder from the Ford Fiesta and the 2.0-liter turbodiesel from the Chevrolet Cruze.
