1989 Ford Bronco Ii Eddie Bauer Sport Utility 2-door 2.9l on 2040-cars
Rocky Point, North Carolina, United States
I have decided to sell my Bronco II due to recent health issues. I am the third owner, and have owned it since 2004. I used it for a daily driver for two years, then mostly on weekends to haul my four wheeler. When I purchased this vehicle the engine had sludged up and lost oil pressure due to water mixing with oil because of a cracked cylinder head which is common in these engines. I overhauled the engine and replaced both cylinder heads with updated WORLD heads that addressed the cracking concern. I have put approximately 12,000 miles on the engine since the overhaul and it runs great. The radiator and all hoses were also replaced at the time of the overhaul. The transmission was serviced with synthetic fluid, and the AC was converted to R-134 freon as well. Being an Eddie Bauer Edition it has every option available at the time and all operate properly. I recently replaced the complete fuel pump/sender assembly and fuel filter. The push button four wheel drive works very well. The original paint has some expected fading for a 25 year old vehicle. The interior is in excellent condition and the original radio has been upgraded to a Pioneer single CD player (with remote) that sounds great. The vehicle has been professionally detailed and I have the original owners manual, warranty card and related literature. I could deliver this vehicle within a 200 mile radius of Wilmington NC for an agreed upon fee. A $500 non refundable deposit will be required 24 hours after close of auction. Please do not bid if you cannot agree to this. I really want to see someone get this vehicle who can enjoy and appreciate it as much as I have. Thanks and happy bidding! |

Ford shares falling on news of lower-than-expected profits next year
Wed, 18 Dec 2013Ford has released projections for its 2013 profits, along with predictions of its 2014 earnings, and the news has forced the company's stock to stumble, falling over seven percent as of this writing. The Blue Oval is expecting earnings of $8.34 billion for 2013, although the bulk of that is coming largely from its North American operations, as troubles abroad continue to take a toll.
Calling 2013 an "outstanding" year, Ford expects its revenue to be up about 10 percent, thanks to gains in market share everywhere but Europe. But it's 2014 predictions that are causing stock prices to fall, as the Dearborn-based manufacturer expects pre-tax profits to fall to $7 to $8 billion, because of troubles in both Europe and South America, according to a report from Reuters. This is despite an expansion plan that will see it open an additional factory in the southern hemisphere, as well as two plants in China, all in a bid to launch 23 new or refreshed products next year.
The issues in South America aren't so much related to a fall in sales - Ford expects improved profits in Brazil and Argentina - but because of currency devaluations in Venezuela that are projected to cost it around $350 million. While that would still allow it to break even with 2013, Ford cites continued economic risks that could push losses even higher.
Ford F-150 bumps Camry from top of Cars.com American Made Index
Tue, 25 Jun 2013With July 4th just around the corner, what better time could there be for Cars.com to announce that the Ford F-150 is the Most American car of 2013? This may be especially true since it was the Toyota Camry, a car produced by a company based in Japan, that had held the top spot from 2009 to 2012.
Cars.com compiles its Most American list by considering the amount of parts each vehicle uses that come from America, where it's final assembly takes place and how many units per year are sold. "While the assembly point and domestic parts content of the F-150 didn't change from 2012-2013, vehicle sales are responsible for bumping the F-150 to the top spot," according to Patrick Olsen, Editor-in-Chief of Cars.com.
As far as automakers go (as opposed to individual models), Toyota retains the top spot it held in 2012, with General Motors, Chrysler, Ford and Honda (in that order) rounding out the list. The motivation behind this list each year, according to Olsen, is "to help car shoppers understand that 'American-Made' extends beyond just the Detroit three" and because "a study we conducted in 2012 indicated that 25 percent of shoppers surveyed preferred to buy American."
Ford will build Hackmobile out of Transit Connect Wagon
Fri, 27 Dec 2013What you see in the above image is a rendering of the Hackmobile Transit Connect Wagon. What is that? It's a "mobile fabrication and hacking unit" that includes tools for metal- and woodworking, 3D and electronics fabrication, a three-axis CNC machine called "The Fabber," a video projector and screen, an air compressor, an 84x48-inch work surface that folds out like a Murphy bed and oh so much more. When not in use, all of the implements fold neatly into the back of Ford's award-winning van.
But perhaps the more important question is why is that? Because Make Magazine held an Ultimate Maker Vehicle Challenge in conjunction with Ford in which ten teams created were charged with creating "the ultimate Ford Transit Connect Wagon for the do-it-yourself enthusiast." Team Twin Cities Maker won the competition with the Hackmobile, and in addition to winning $10,000, Ford has declared it's actually going to build the thing - which is great, because if they can actually engineer a road-legal Hackmobile Transit Connect Wagon as envisioned, the inevitable A-Team movie reboot might need to think about including it.
Check out the video below for a cheeky walk-through of the Hackmobile, and get all the particulars in the press release below that.
