Ford 5 Window Coupe, Chevy Supercharged 350 Engine on 2040-cars
Bolingbrook, Illinois, United States
For sale is
a 1937 Ford Coupe I bought about a year ago. I picked it up for a cruise nights/local
shows car but found something I like better. It’s an all steel car with great
lines and very solid. It has a supercharged Chevy 350, 4 speed, heavy clutch
and a Ford posi rear end with a 411 or 457 gear set in it. Since I bought it I
put a new Holly carb on it, had the supercharger, a B&M 144, rebuilt by Dyer’s Blower shop.
I also had some other work done on it by Midwest Hotrod. I had them put
in a new aluminum radiator, the old one had calcified. They rebuilt the rear
brake cylinders and bled the lines. The trunk had bubbles in the paint along
the bottom edge so I also had Midwest fix that and repaint it and some other
areas that need a minor touch up. The mechanic said he thinks they put in an
AMC front end in the car. As far as the rest of body goes, it’s very sturdy and
rust free. I don’t know much about the history of the car. I’m guessing the car
was a 1970’s build, judging from the interior work and style. It works but it’s
antiquated. Looks like maybe a 1970’s GM dash. The car also has a sun roof and
an opera seat in the cab. It runs
strong. I didn’t get it finished until last fall, so I’ve only put about 50
miles on it since the refresh was done. There’s been a lot of 1937’s on the EBAY
site lately, mostly going for $35,000.00 to $45,000.00 This car can easily be
taking to the next level and customized
more to your personal tastes for much less the difference of site cars and what I’m asking for mine. The only
things wrong that I’m aware of is speedometer doesn’t work (I was thinking
about digital gauges anyway if I redid the Interior) and if you fill up the gas tank all the way
there is a small drip that goes away after a 5 or 10 mile ride. A $500.00
Deposit is due within 48 hours of close of Auction, Payment in full within 7
days of Auction Close via certified funds, or cash. Car needs to be picked up
within 15 days of end of auction. Insurance, tags, taxes and shipping fees are
the buyer’s responsibility. |

Ford F-150 Tremor to pace NASCAR Truck Series this weekend
Wed, 14 Aug 2013Ford's bro-tastic F-150 Tremor will be pacing this weekend's NASCAR Camping World Truck Series at Michigan International Speedway. The Tremor fills a gap in the Ford F-Series lineup that we imagine the NASCAR set have clamored for - a hot-rod pickup truck.
Where the F-150 Raptor is designed to go quick on anything, the Tremor and its 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 are designed to tackle the road. The 365-horsepower and 420-pound-foot EcoBoost is unchanged from the rest of the F-150 line, but it combines the shortest drive ratio with the lightest two-door body, making it a bit of hot rod.
Ford will be offering hot laps with Michigan native Brad Keselowski behind the wheel of the Tremor for fans that arrive in the Irish Hills on August 14. The main showing for the new pickup will be the August 17 race, though, when it'll lead the field at the start of the race and through cautions.
Watch how Ford torture-tested the 2015 F-150
Wed, 09 Apr 2014The Ford F-150 has been the best-selling truck in the United States for the past 37 years, and the best-selling vehicle outright for the past 32. That's quite a legacy, and thus, it's no surprise that Ford worked super-duper-extra hard on creating the all-new, aluminum-bodied 2015 F-150 that debuted at the Detroit Auto Show earlier this year.
During an event at the company's headquarters in Dearborn, MI this week, we were able to see all of the ways that Ford endurance tests, not just the new F-150, but all of its vehicles. From examining things like light exposure to interior materials and paint finishes, to making sure that corrosion absolutely does not happen when steel components come in contact with aluminum panels in the new truck. The goal: ensure that the new F-150 is nothing short of "Built Ford Tough."
But that's only a small part of the story. Of course, the new F-150 has to be able to withstand whatever a pickup buyer might throw at it - and truck buyers arguably demand the most from their vehicles. So in an effort to convey just what the new F-150 had to go through before being given the final go-ahead, Ford has released a series of videos, showing how its new halo truck was indeed torture tested.
2015 Ford F-150 specs revealed, EcoBoost 2.7L to make 325 hp and 375 lb-ft [w/video]
Tue, 22 Jul 2014Our new man Greg Migliore is in attendance at a Ford media event at the Blue Oval's Dearborn, MI headquarters today, and he's reported in with a handful of the 2015 F-150 stats that we've been dying to know. Ford is slow-playing the news release here, but we can still offer up some interesting output and performance figures after half-year of waiting.
We have all be quite aware that Ford's shift to aluminum construction would save a lot of weight for F-150 models, and the results we're hearing now are duly impressive. For instance: in Super Crew trim, a 2015 F-150 is a whopping 732-pounds lighter than was its closest 2014-model-year equivalent. That's like hauling three middle-aged dudes to your bowling alley's league night for free. Polish your balls, guys.
Ford isn't willing to offer up any actual curb weights just yet, but if we take that 732-pound loss and extrapolate with the 5,128-pound curb weight of the 2014 F-150 Super Crew with the 3.7-liter V6, we can guesstimate that 2015 models will measure out in the 4,400-pound range. That's impressive.
