2006 Ford Mustang GT Shelby GT500/Eleanor Tribute

Condition: Drives very nicely for a lowered car because it was done right. Normal front sway bar link pops at low speeds over rough roads (like any Mustang). The windshield wipers currently are not working, but a replacement wiper switch is included. Sale price adjusted to cover cost of repair. One or Two minor dings on the body, some left over gum from stickers smaller than the size of a quarter (I didn't want to mess with it in the cold; but when it gets warm, will clean off easily), some normal wear on steering wheel/lock button, etc., and some clear-coat blemishes on the front leading edge of lightened fiberglass hood and ram front bumper. Overall a very clean Mustang GT that looks sharp, and can be driven anywhere.

Features: GT Premium/GT Deluxe Mustang with Eleanor Body Kit in Tungsten Gray, 18" Ford Factory Polished/Painted Wheels with new Pony Center Caps, Smoked Headlights, Functioning Hood Pins, 4.10 Ford Racing Rear, Lifetime K&N Air Filter, Low Restriction Bassani Dual Exhaust, Chip Tune following mods, Leather seats/steering wheel/panels, aluminum factory trim, Eleanor Twin Light Fog Grill (functions off factory switch), Kenwood DDX-512 6.1 inch Touchscreen CD/DVD/NAV Unit, Shaker 500 Speakers & Amps, and nitrogen valve caps.

History: I'm the 3rd or 4th owner. Previous owner had the car completely done up in 2012. I traded a Porsche for it a few weeks ago, but the wife doesn't think it fits with our young children (not exactly car-seat friendly), so it is being put up for sale. This would be perfect for someone looking for a nice look, well running toy that really scoots. Fresh Oil Change with 5w-20 Synthetic Blend & Bosch Filter, One tire replaced by previous owner (Falken Azenis PT-722 235/50R18 with 95% tread), 3 Goodyear Eagle GT 235/50R18 with 70%-80% tread, with previous owner having had a minor bumper scratch in a parking lot in New Jersey in 2010, which was the reason for having the Eleanor Kit Installed when he had the bumper replaced.(check VIN). CLEAR TITLE in hand.

Shipping & Payment: Buyer responsible for shipping arrangements from 21061 (where car is) to where ever it is to be shipped. Pick-up is also available but must be arranged. Payment must be in the form of a $500 non-refundable deposit sent via Pay-Pal and must arrive within 24 hours of sale, or the car will be re-listed and deposit used to cover any and all costs. The remaining balance must be sent immediately by bank certified check, transfer, or cash. Checks and transfers will be held until cleared for at least a week before car & title will be released to buyer. Cash sales ensure the car and title are instantly released.

A few folks have asked why there aren't rally stripes. This can be added by the buyer, as it wouldn't take much to bring this car up to the next level. Stripe kits are available on eBay.

On Mar-13-14 at 14:12:14 PDT, seller added the following information:

I am indeed the 3rd Owner. Look at the FULL HISTORY. Original owner had a minor front end bump and had the body kit installed and finished in the same Tungsten Gray. Nothing is bent, and front end alignment is great and tracks straight at 65+ mph. The car drives really well.

Yearly auto recall record demolished in 6 months

Tue, Jul 1 2014

With nearly 40 million vehicles under repair campaigns and counting, 2014 will almost certainly go down as the year of the automotive recall. At just past the halfway mark, we are already at record levels, and there aren't any signs that the epidemic is slowing. General Motors' latest 8.4 million vehicle recall in the US puts the industry over the top for the title of the most cars with fixes pending from automakers ever. That's a prize no one ever wants to receive. According to TheDetroitBureau.com, the US recall total has hit 39.85-million vehicles to surpass the previous record of 33.01 million in 2004. Perhaps more surprising, with over 26 million repairs pending, it's still quite possibly that GM could recall more vehicles by the end of the year than the 27.96-million unit total of the entire US auto industry last year. With over 40 campaigns under its belt in 2014, the roughly one million cars it would take would hardly come as a surprise at this point, especially with increased government scrutiny into the Detroit automaker's processes. The pace of recalls started off relatively normal this year, with just a smattering of campaigns. The most surprising early on was Aston Martin calling in about 75 percent of its output since 2007 due to counterfeit plastic, but with just a few thousand cars, it was relatively tiny in pure numbers. GM really kicked things off soon after, but we didn't know it at the time. It issued its first bulletin for 778,000 Cobalt compacts in early February. Things only ballooned from there as more models were added to its growing ignition switch problem. The onslaught of announcements from every major automaker hasn't abated since then. Some industry executives are trying to put a positive spin on the situation. "With what's transpired (in recent months), there's a higher level of scrutiny," said Joe Hinrichs, Ford president of the Americas, to TheDetroitBureau.com. He believes that automakers are looking at data much more thoroughly than before, and it means better customer safety. Still, many consumers probably wish these problems had been found before their car went on sale.

2016 Ford Focus RS shows up in Geneva, still bound for America [w/video]

Tue, Mar 3 2015

Representing the super-hot hatchback movement at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show, we have the 2015 Ford Focus RS, the third-generation to wear the performance-focused designation. Bound for America for the first time, it's fair to say we're darn excited for the Focus RS and its 2.3-liter, turbocharged four-cylinder. With at least 315 horsepower under the hood and the long-awaited inclusion of an all-wheel-drive system, there's little arguing that the RS will be seriously quick off the line. It should be darn good through the bends, too. The all-wheel-drive system packs a Dynamic Torque Vectoring Control system that sends up to 70 percent of the power to the rear axle. On top of the AWD's torque vectoring ability, the Focus RS adds a brake-based torque vectoring system, which transfers power laterally, as needed. Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires should only help keep the RS glued to the tarmac. A three-pedal setup is the sole transmission option, which should delight purists. According to Ford, both the clutch and the trans itself have been bolstered to handle the 2.3-liter's power. Ford also comprehensively upgraded the looks of the Focus RS relative to the lesser Focus ST. Its enormous rear wing and the back bumper's rear diffuser complement the car's menacing face. The ST's center-exit exhaust has been ditched for a meaty set of pipes, while the car on display in Geneva shows off a different set of alloys than what we saw during the car's original debut. Ford bringing 10 custom Transit Connects to SEMA

Tue, 29 Oct 2013

With 57 vehicles planned for its SEMA display, it comes as little surprise that Ford has plenty of teasers for its show cars. After showing us what it has in store for the Mustang, Fiesta and Focus ST, now we're getting a look at some of the custom creations based on the redesigned 2014 Transit Connect van.
These nine Transit Connects are decked out to various degrees of customization, but our favorite might be the chopped and lowered Transit Connect from Mob Steel (shown above), which has a similar slammed stance that we see on some custom VW Buses. On the opposite extreme, LGE & CTS Motorsports has jacked up a Transit Connect to make a Cross Country cruiser that we wouldn't mind taking on a road trip.
There are seven other teasers from various companies, and you can check them all out in the gallery above or in the press release below. Ford is also promising a tenth Transit Connect for SEMA, so stay tuned for that as well.
