Vehicle Description:

This is a 7-Day NO RESERVE auction for a 1992 Ford Aerostar Extended Length Van!  HIGH BIDDER WINS!

Only 95K miles, very clean condition, ice cold A/C!  Check out the pictures & video!

This Ford runs & drives well!  It is a true survivor - you don't see Aerostars like this everyday anymore!  The 3.0L V6 engine runs smooth with no hesitation.  This Aerostar came equipped with many options like power windows, power locks, cruise control, rear wiper, full length running boards, and more! This Aerostar is the extended length version, which gives you plenty of cargo room even with all three rows of seats.  Mechanically, this Ford is in good condition.  The engine runs out very nice and smooth.  I have not noticed any leaks on the ground where this Aerostar has been sitting.  The transmission shifts into all gears with no slipping.  The transmission shifts a little firm between 1/2 and when you put it into reverse, but nothing I would consider  abnormal for a 22 year old vehicle.  The brakes stop the car smooth and straight.  While driving the steering & suspension components are tight and appear to be in good shape.  There is a slight pull to the left, a simple wheel alignment would probably fix this.  The 4 matching Mastercraft 215/75/14 tires have plenty of tread remaining, see pics.  Spare tire is present underneath the vehicle.  No vibrations at all when driving.  Overall, this vehicle drives very nicely for its age and mileage.  All the power options work like they should.  All of the climate control settings work perfectly, this Ford  blows air on all blower levels and wherever you want it to (vents, defroster, etc).  The A/C blows air ICE COLD.  The Aerostar is equipped with an AM/FM/Cassette sound system - the radio powers up great and the speakers sound good.  There are no check engine or other "dummy lights" illuminated on the dashboard.  All of the gauges read properly and there are no abnormal readings - the temperature gauge stays around the "N" in normal while driving. The engine runs smooth with no lack of power at all.   Cosmetically -- this van  looks in very good shape. The exterior paint is in good condition and shines nicely.  There is extremely little rust, especially for an Aerostar.  There is a little bubbling above the running boards and possible previous rust repair around those locations.  All glass is in-tact and in good condition.  The wheels are steel with covers that are in very good shape.   The interior is in very condition with no rips or major discoloration.  Check out the pictures - they speak for themselves!  I have tried to capture both the positives and the flaws in those pictures.  There is some carpet discoloration, especially around where the floor mats would have been and in the cargo area - a steam cleaning would take care of this.  The cargo area behind the 3rd row of seats shows some usage with scrapes in the plastic trim.  The steering wheel looks worn underneath the cover.  There are little scratches where it looks there might have been a bug deflector on the hood and a long light scratch behind the sliding door.  These are minor imperfections that are consistent with the vehicle age - this is one of the cleanest '92 vans I've seen!  Overall, this Aerostar shows extremely nice and will be a vehicle that you can be proud of!

I have tried my best to represent this vehicle accurately and to the best of my abilities.  Earning and keeping a 100% positive feedback rating is very important to me!  I purchase most of my vehicles as trade-ins from new car dealerships as traded. I test drive each vehicle on the expressway and around town for at least 20 miles, often over 100 miles, and use that experience to represent the vehicle to you on eBay.  Please remember that you are buying a used vehicle and that a certain amount of wear/use/flaws are to be expected on any used vehicle -- including this one.  You are welcome and encouraged to come check out this vehicle for yourself and take it for a test drive before the auction ends.  I have included over 50 pictures and a YouTube video - please check out them out.   Feel free to email/call me (Michael) at 734-717-3653 with specific questions and I will do my best to answer them.

Auction Details & Payment Information:

Watch these videos of an NHRA racer's bodywork blowing off into a crowd

Tue, 23 Apr 2013

Just a few months ago, fan safety at racetracks was a hot topic following the last-lap NASCAR Nationwide Series crash at Daytona that sent large pieces of racecars into the grandstands injuring 33 fans. Now, a freak incident at a National Hot Rod Association event resulted in a drag racer's bodywork flying into the crowd at the NHRA Four-Wide Nationals in Charlotte over the weekend. The carbon-fiber body of Robert Hight's Ford Mustang funny car blew off toward the end of a run when his engine exploded, but fortunately, the two fans evaluated after the incident were later released without serious injury.
As you can see in the image above, the body flew high into the air before landing on a walkway in front of the grandstands, a bit of happenstance that likely gave most fans enough time and space to move out of the way. Scroll down to watch a couple of videos showing what happened, including one from a fan's perspective that also reveals what appears to be part of the body's metal bracing landing dangerously close to the crowd.

Riding along in Ford's bonkers Fiesta ST Global RallyCross car [w/video]

Wed, 28 Aug 2013

The Mountune-worked Fiesta ST GRC does 0-to-60 mph in 1.9 seconds.
On any given day, and every single weekend, there's at least one parking in the country invaded by manufacturer and team trucks. The be-chromed beasts and their 53-foot trailers are slotted into rows, men and women decorate the lot with orange cones to mark the invisible tracery of a temporary track, cars get unloaded, crews fret over them. The ritual can be as beautiful as the sunrise to those with enthusiast hearts, but it's just as common.

Reflecting on the Ford GT on its 10-year anniversary

Thu, 10 Apr 2014

Ten years ago, during the bright-eyed enthusiasm of the early 2000s and before the collective automotive industry did its best Titanic impression, we had the Ford GT. An everyman's supercar like there'd never been (remember, this was before 638-horsepower Corvettes were a thing), the GT arrived with a supercharged, 5.4-liter V8 that produced 550 horsepower and graced this retro-styled rocket with an easy, sub-four-second sprint to 60 miles per hour.
Equal to the GT's performance were its looks. Inspired by the GT40 racers that dominated Le Mans and bested Ferrari in the 1960s, the sleek, low, almost-reptilian look of the GT was the absolute pinnacle of the retro styling that so defined the early 2000s.
Crank and Piston put together a video celebrating the ten-year-old GT, arguing that Ford is a bit too busy with the next-gen Mustang, which turns 50 next week, to do it themselves. In the short clip, there is gratuitous engine noise and supercharger whine, not to mention scenes of the white-on-red GT prowling the deserts and streets of Dubai. It's a bit short, but very nicely shot. Scroll down, have a look and be sure to turn up those speakers before getting started.
