1971 Ford Mustang Fastback, No Reserve -- Project Car on 2040-cars
Fairview, Pennsylvania, United States
This is a no-reserve project car -- SHELL ONLY! Completely disassembled. I have a clear Florida title in my name. Rear glass is good; windshield has one small crack low along the bottom edge. The main shell of the car has some surface rust in the interior and under the chassis. Replacement trunk panel is bolted in, but should be welded. This is a project I'll never get around to. Car is mounted on a rotisserie which doesn't belong to me and so is NOT included in this sale. Of course no suspension on the car means you'll need something like a body-shop cart and a flatbed trailer to move it. Vehicle sold AS IS! Be sure you understand that this is a disassembled project car, and that it is INCOMPLETE -- no parts included with this vehicle! $250 Paypal deposit due at end of auction; remainder due in cash on pickup. I'm in Fairview, Pa., a half-mile from Lake Erie. The sale of this vehicle is final; I reserve the right to end this auction, as the car is for sale locally. I have the V8 block that came with the car and boxes of parts, but if you want them, they're extra.

Ford reveals all-new Everest SUV at Asia-Pacific forum [w/poll]
Thu, 13 Nov 2014While the Explorer may have shifted from a truck-based sport-ute to a car-based crossover, Ford still offers buyers on the other side of the Pacific a Ranger-based SUV in the form of the Everest. And at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit in Beijing today, the Blue Oval revealed the all-new version you see here.
Previewed in concept form over a year ago and made specifically for the Asia-Pacific market, the new Ford Everest is designed to be more refined on the road and more capable off of it. Like the Explorer once was, the new Everest is based on a stretched version of the overseas Ford Ranger pickup. Depending on the specific market, Ford will offer the new Everest with a range of engines including a 2.0-liter EcoBoost turbo four and two Duratorq turbodiesels - a 2.2-liter four and a 3.2-liter inline-five - mated to a six-speed automatic transmission.
Earmarked to take on the likes of the Toyota Land Cruiser Prado (known in these parts as the Lexus GX) and the Jeep Grand Cherokee, the new Everest promises rock-crawlers even better off-road capabilities. It's got nearly nine inches of ground clearance, over 30 inches of wading depth, a 29-degree approach and 25-degree departure angles and a set of features including on-the-fly adjustable four-wheel drive.
Ford 3D-printing Mustang out of chocolate and candy for Valentine's Day
Thu, 13 Feb 2014Is your beloved in love with the new 2015 Ford Mustang? Do they like chocolate (that's a trick question - everyone likes chocolate)? Are they a bit of a futurist? Then this Hallmark holiday, you need to get them this Ford Mustang, 3D-printed in sweet, delicious chocolate.
Ford is teaming with 3D Systems' Sugar Lab in LA to produce the super-accurate pony car confections in both chocolate and sugar candy varieties. The process kicked off with a CAD rendering of the 2015 Mustang, which was then programmed into the 3D printer. After a bit of work from the machine, a four-inch long, two-inch tall Mustang was the result. Why the tieup with 3D Systems, though?
"We wanted to create something fun to show that while 3D printing made these edible Mustangs, manufacturing-level 3D printing was used in the development of Ford's all-new sports car," said Paul Susalla, Ford's supervisor of 3D printing.
