AT NO RESERVE!!!

AS MANY OF YOU ARE AWARE, I HAVE BEEN MARKETING CLASSIC CARS
OF EVERY KIND FOR MY CLIENTS ON EBAY FOR OVER 10 YEARS...
EVERYTHING FROM DARRIN'S TO DUESENBERGS!

OFTENTIMES (AS IN THE CASE OF THIS TORINO), THE OWNER HAS PASSED AND THE INFORMATION THE FAMILY HAS PROVIDED IS BOTH LIMITED AND SKETCHY. AS SUCH, I WILL DO MY BEST TO DESCRIBE WHAT I CAN.

ANY HELP FROM MY FELLOW EBAYER'S IS ALWAYS APPRECIATED!

DETAILS INCLUDE:
  • I have no idea what size the engine is or if it is original to the car. (One family member told me it was a 460 and another told me a 429.)
  • Same thing for the transmission and rear end.
  • The speedometer worked when we drove it to the service center and after performing some minor exhaust work it stopped. (Odometer & Title will reflect 92,000 actual miles.)
  • The temperature gauge does not work. (After market one does)
  • The bright light switch is stuck on high beams.
  • Little round knob for window handle is missing.
  • Restored approximately 10 years ago.
  • VIN: 1A38C156078
  • Exhaust Manifold #: DOOE - 9430 - A (I couldn't read driver's side.)
  • Driver's side of motor: D2OE - AB
  • There is a very large "CP" on the rear of the engine.
  • Transmission has a big "14" on it.
  • The tag on the door reads: Body 63H - Col - X - Trans U or O - DSO - 21
  • Dark Blue Paint with Metallic - Not sure if it's original.
  • Runs & Drives Excellent
  • Sound Incredible! (Must have a larger cam shaft.)
  • Family members all say that Dad was very meticulous about this car. (He worked for Ford his whole life and was a "Ford Man" through and through.
  • He knew Bill Shenk personally (a big wig with Ford) and had him sign the car.
  • Several chips in paint that have been touched up. (I couldn't find them without my reading glasses on.)
  • Small area on roof has a few hair line cracks in paint. (I didn't need my glasses to find them!)
  • Tires seem good with plenty of rubber and very even wear.
  • Car steers straight with no issues.
  • Power brakes and power steering.
  • Wiper switch has a mind of its own. (Won't shut off sometimes.)
  • Radio doesn't work.
  • Brakes stop the car fine with no real pulling.
  • Idled for over 30 minutes without ever overheating.
  • Air Conditioner System seems to be missing.
  • Small imperfection in floor pan. (See picture)
  • Interior looks above average with no tears or rips or cracks anywhere.
  • Same for door panels and head liner.

I HAVE LISTED THIS VEHICLE TO THE BEST OF MY ABILITY, BUT BEING A USED CLASSIC CAR IT IS NOT IN PERFECT CONDITION.

All used vehicles should be assumed to have some degree of wear. No vehicle is perfect in any way. Each vehicle has its strengths, styles, tendencies and shortcomings. Therefore, despite our best efforts to verify a vehicle's mechanical condition, we are not able to warranty a manufacturer’s workmanship or previous owner’s diligence in care. It is for this reason that all vehicles are sold "AS IS". We have described the above mentioned vehicle to the best of our ability. However, with all pre-owned automobiles, the condition is subjective. Please be advised that no oral or written statements concerning any vehicle constitutes a representation or warranty of the condition of said vehicle. I reserve the right to cancel this auction at any time and for any reason.

DISCLAIMER

As always, I reserve the right to cancel this auction at any time and for any reason. I will entertain any reasonable offers, both online and otherwise, and therefore may decide to sell prior to auction ending. If I agree to accept an offer, whether online or not, the buyer must agree to consummate purchase through Ebay and abide their rules and conditions.

Please note that no car is perfect. It has been driven. It may have minor wear and minor marks from being on the road. I would suggest coming to see it in person before bidding so you know the degree of wear of the vehicle. I listed this vehicle to the best of my ability. However, I am only human and could have missed a flaw. So please if you have any concerns contact me. Thank you!!

Happy Bidding!!!

May 2016: FCA wins, Ford and GM stumble on weak car volumes

Wed, Jun 1 2016

The May 2016 sales numbers are in, and it looks as though FCA is getting some vindication for boldly cancelling two slow-selling car models. Meanwhile, Ford saw overall sales dip and GM's May volume took a big dive versus the same month in 2015. While Marchionne's decision to axe the Chrysler 200 and Dodge Dart has drawn criticism as being short-sighted, it's working for FCA so far. Although the Dart and 200 aren't out of production yet and no capacity has been shifted to crossover or trucks, May's numbers show that the emphasis on Jeep and Ram models makes sense right now. FCA's US sales rose 1 percent last month compared to May 2015, putting the year-to-date total at 955,186 vehicles, an increase of 6 percent compared to the same period last year. Standouts included the Jeep Renegade, Compass, and Patriot, and the Fiat 500X. Ram pickup sales were down 3 percent. And your fun fact is that Alfa Romeo sales were up precisely 10 percent, for a total of 44 4Cs sold versus 40 in the same month last year. At FoMoCo, the Ford brand took a hit to the tune of 6.4 percent from May 2015 to 2016, registering 226,190 sales last month. Lincoln showed improvement on its modest numbers, going from 9,174 to 9,807, a 6.9 percent increase. Overall, Ford was down 5.9 percent for the month to 235,997; despite the slump, year-to-date total Ford sales are up 4.2 percent to 1,112,939. Strong sellers included Escape, Expedition, F-Series, and Transit - big stuff. Most small and/or efficient models (Fiesta, Focus, Fusion, C-Max) saw sales slides. Fusion sales were also down, likely due to effects of model changeover to the freshened 2017 model. Ford has promised four new crossovers and SUVs by 2020 and if things keep trending this way the company will be able to sell them, but things could change in the next four years. GM saw the worst of it for domestic brands. Retail and fleet sales were down for each of the four divisions, with the May 2016 total dropping 18 percent to 240,450 vehicles. GM's year-to-date sales are down 5.0 percent in 2016 to 1,183,705. Both the Sierra and Silverado were down significantly, and the majority of Chevy, Buick, GMC, and Cadillac nameplates saw sales decreases, with both small cars and larger utilities included. Not even big stuff could help GM this month, it seems. We'll have more on the rest of the industry's May sales as those figures trickle in.

Would a Mustang-based Lincoln look like this?

Mon, 07 Jan 2013

Designer Josiah LaCalla has taken a stab at what a Ford Mustang-based Lincoln model might look like with the Continental Mark X1 concept. Make no mistake, Ford's luxury arm has made it abundantly clear that it won't be pursuing any new products outside of volume models, which means a flashy halo grand tourer like the one you see here isn't in the cards. LaColla used the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG as a basis for his creation, which explains the long nose, but we certainly don't mind the idea of a rear-wheel drive Lincoln with a cabin pushed to the aft.
While we're dreaming, there's certainly nothing stopping us from imagining what's under that lengthy hood. We like the idea of the 5.8-liter supercharged V8 from the Shelby GT500 pushing the Mark X1 down the road, but how about something a little more inventive? Something like a high-revving, buttery V12 with enough torque to push the contraption well past 200 miles per hour. Dream a little dream, people.

Ford Mustang challenges Lamborghini in amazing drift battle

Fri, Dec 18 2015

Engines scream and tires billow with smoke as Vaughn Gittin Jr. and Daigo Saito stage a drift battle through an abandoned Japanese resort that looks like a Russian village in this stunning clip. The high-performance ballet of these amazing machines sliding around makes this one of the best videos of the year. To fight this duel, Gittin straps into his 550-horsepower Ford Mustang, and Saito meets the pony car's challenge with a drift-prepped Lamborghini Murcielago. The drivers hit a curving road and show expert car control as the men slide these very different vehicles just inches from each other. Eventually, night descends, and they add some fire to the scene to give the stunts a more apocalyptic look. The production values for this short clip are phenomenal, and the editing makes the viewer feel right in the middle of the action. If you want to get behind the scenes of this impressive display of drifting, Speedhunters did a great job capturing the event in photos. Related Video:
