1972 Ford Torino Grand Sport model 2dr coupe, V8 460 big block, Automatic Transmission 3spd C6, Black vinyl interior with bucket seats, shifter on the floor.
This vehicle runs well and has a strong shifting transmission, Seller recently took the vehicle on a auto trade deal approximately 200 mi away from seller residence, while driving this vehicle a rain squall occurred which attributed to the Ford Torino hydro-planing to the far side of the road causing the DAMAGE you can see. The accident damaged the front passenger fender, front passenger suspension, front grill, front bumper, hood, lower air dam, headlight trim and other items. This vehicle is still operable and runs well, auto trans shifts strong.(see attached photos)
The vehicle has been inspected by local body techs who indicate hood, suspension and many other parts of the vehicle are repairable, some items will require replacement i.e... fender skin, lower air dam and other items. Will require painting after body work is completed. Seller removed the remainder of the damaged fender, worked on repairing the majority of the suspension i.e... Kingpin adjustment, Joint adjustment, suspension still requires some tweaking and alignment. NOTE: this vehicle does run but highly recommend vehicle is trailered to its final destination, current wheel alignment makes driving any distance unsafe.
Attached are numerous pictures of the vehicle before the accident and the pictures showing the current state of repair. Seller has been informed by previous owner the V8 was a crate motor stock built 460 with less than 20k miles, and the C6 Auto transmission had been rebuilt during the engine replacement phase. This is not a numbers matching vehicle this is a Ford Gran Sport Rod. Great vehicle for anyone interested in owning and fixing up a unique automotive. The pricing is reasonable and reflects the current status of the vehicle. Seller offers vehicle AS IS with no warranties or guarantees.
Reason for transaction: Seller is older and unable to repair the items in need, additionally seller has too many autos at this time and would like to sell this vehicle. Take advantage of the low price and make a purchase of real American hot rod, Nice project vehicle priced reasonable with strong mechanical drive train and engine.

Ford recalling nearly 700k Escape CUVs, C-Max hybrids over two separate safety issues
Fri, 09 May 2014Poor Escape. Ever since its launch in 2012, Ford's small CUV has been the subject of many, many, many recalls. And today, The Detroit News is reporting that Ford is adding two more recalls to the 2013-14 model year Escape's permanent record, one of them also involves the C-Max hybrid hatchback.
The first recall, covering 692,500 Escape and C-Max vehicles, is due to a software glitch that could cause the airbags - specifically, the safety canopy - to not deploy in a timely fashion during rollover crashes. According to the News, Ford says no crashes or injuries have been reported in relation to this problem.
The second recall, covering 692,700 Escapes, is related to the door handles. The News reports that the exterior door handles could open while the vehicle is in motion, and could also fail to latch properly. Once again, no crashes or injuries have occurred because of this. The National Highway Safety Traffic Administration has not issued an official notice on either recall as of this writing.
What next for Alan Mulally?
Wed, 23 Apr 2014Alan Mulally has emerged as a hero when it comes to American manufacturing. He came to Ford in 2006 after serving as head of Boeing's commercial aircraft division, streamlined operations, sold off the costly elements of its Premier Automotive Group and saved Ford from having to be bailed out by the federal government like its cross-town rivals Chrysler and General Motors did. But as we reported mere days ago, he's widely expected to step down from the chief executive's office at Ford shortly.
So what's next for one of the most successful executives in the business? Hard to say, but don't expect Mulally to disappear into retirement. Though he didn't ultimately take the top job at Microsoft, industry insiders expect to see him in another influential position - likely as a board director or even chairman of another company. (We say "another company" and not Ford because while Bill Ford may have stepped aside as CEO to bring Mulally on board in the first place, we don't see him giving up his chairmanship of the board also.)
Mulally has likely already lined up his next move, and could either announce what that move will be as soon as Ford confirms Mark Fields as his successor, or could wait awhile. Insiders speculate that he could leverage his transportation and aerospace experience into a position at General Electric or a major airline, his manufacturing expertise to benefit a company like Procter & Gamble or his management skills at a consultancy firm.
Ford cuts 950 Russian jobs on weak demand
Thu, 03 Apr 2014The Russian auto market, in decline for the past year and further hit by the declining value of the ruble and recent sanctions over its annexation of Crimea, has forced Ford to cut jobs and shifts at two of its joint venture plants there. Around 700 of the 2,700 total workers who build the Russian-market Focus and Mondeo will be cut at the plant in Vsevolozhsk, near St. Petersburg as it drops to a single production shift. A second plant about 700 miles away in Yelabuga, in the Tartarstan region, will lose 250 workers. That plant builds seven vehicles, including the Explorer, Kuga and Edge.
The Moscow Times says Ford has been especially hit by the market decline, the overall market losing 5.5 percent in 2013 compared to the year before, but Ford sales dropping 18 percent in 2013 year-on-year. This year isn't going any better, with The Blue Oval posting a 21-percent decline through the first two months of 2014. That's why, though the Yelabuga plant builds the CUVs that customers are moving into, even it is facing cuts.
The job cuts in Vsevolozhsk come on top four-week plant shutdown planned so that the paint and body shops can go to one shift. In a statement, the company said, "Ford Sollers remains absolutely committed to the Russian market and is confident it has the right product plan, people and assets to deliver long-term profitable growth."
