This is a very rare car, most of four speed Torino cars have been wrecked, parted down during a time people thought they were not that valuable, or just rusted out. Same green color as the movie car, 'Grand Torino'. It is one of only 2091 four speed cars offered in 1972. Ford only put four speeds behind the 351 Cleveland  CJ, (known as the 351CJ engine), four barrel, that's the 'Cobra Jet' engine. It is said that there may only be as little as three hundred of the four speed cars left. It has been stored inside, restoration has been started, all body work done, clutch, brake and suspension work done. No rust at all, clean trunk, this is an easy restoration, speedo shows just under 45K, it may not have turned over-can't really tell, all parts there, steering wheel is aftermarket, missing the top of the stock air cleaner lid and has an aftermarket radio-all real easy things to find. All chrome is good, all moldings are there and good-may need a little freshening up. The interior is all there and stock, seats needs to be recovered and headliner replaced, the rest may be restorable, has the cracked dash as all of these car have. I have a 'MARTI REPORT' that I can email or fax out to you. The car is not going to be sold for a low price, it will only sell for top dollar because it is very rare.  It hurts me to have to sell it, I was starting a 'Year 72 Collection',  all I can say is: try to find another one of these CJ fours speed cars, all stock and this original. I am selling off all my street rod projects that I have left due to health issues, got a 88,000 org mile, one owner 72 Ranchero, 351C auto, AND a 44,000 mile 64 Ford F100-short wide box, 302-C4. I can email more pictures-call me, Seller has the right to stop the auction early as it is also advertised locally, feel free to call me, Bob at 530-528-1000 and leave message or call my cell at 530-209-2897

On May-28-13 at 10:09:59 PDT, seller added the following information:

I just got the MARTI REPORT on this car, there were only 306 Torinos sold in 1972 with four speeds and only the CJ 351 cleveland engine could have the four speed tranny. Also there was only 173 sold with this paint and trim code, I can fax the Marti Report, call me at the 530-528-1000 leave message on where to fax it.

I cannot get the Marti Report to load, email me with your email address and I will send it to you,

2016 Ford Focus RS may yet be AWD, US sales likely

Fri, 29 Aug 2014

When it comes to forbidden fruit, few vehicles are spoken of in as hushed a tone as the Ford Focus RS. The turbocharged, five-cylinder hot hatch could only be seen from afar by American customers as it tore up the roads of Europe. And while it's safe to say that Ford's Yankee fans are quite happy to now be on equal footing with drivers in the old country thanks to the Focus ST, we doubt there'd be much protestation over a successor to the RS arriving stateside.
Of course, we've seen images of the new RS undergoing testing, but a new story by Road and Track aims to fill in some very large blanks in our knowledge of that car, thanks to a pair of mysterious insiders at the Ford. Chief among those is this - the RS will almost certainly make its way to the US, albeit in limited quantities. It gets better, though.
Under hood, the new RS is unsurprisingly expected to borrow the 2.3-liter, turbocharged four-cylinder from the 2015 Ford Mustang and 2015 Lincoln MKC. While that twin-scroll turbo produces 310 horsepower in the Mustang and 285 ponies in the MKC, R&T expects the RS to deliver quite a bit more firepower - 325 to 350 hp, with preference going to the higher output due to the limited-edition nature of the RS. This roughly fits with previous reports.

FCA to pay buyers $1,700 to swap out of scandal-mired VWs

Tue, Oct 6 2015

FCA is trying to gain some sales from arch-rival VW in the competitive European market by offering potential buyers in Italy up to $1,700 to swap into an FCA group car. While the promotion isn't specifically targeted at TDI owners affected by the emissions scandal, it is clearly intended to turn dissatisfaction with VW's defeat device cheat into additional sales, Bloomberg reports. The 500-1,500 euro incentive (roughly $560-1,700, depending on vehicle) stacks on top of any other rebates or deals applicable, and applies if a buyer brings in any of Volkswagen Group's cars – including Audi, Skoda, and SEAT, among (many) others. As Bloomberg notes, it's normal for automakers to offer "conquest" deals – giving a buyer cash for trading in a competitor's vehicle. Those deals aren't usually limited to one company's products, however; FCA's program looks specifically to take advantage of VW's legal and public relations nightmare. FCA isn't the only automaker trying this trick in Italy. Automotive News Europe also reported that Ford is offering approximately $840 in incentives across its entire range to owners of VW vehicles seeking to trade in for a Ford. No word of yet as to whether these incentives will spread beyond Italy or to other automakers.Related Video:

Bill Ford op-ed argues we can't just build and sell more of the same cars

Thu, 10 Jul 2014

It's hardly a secret that the auto industry is undergoing an enormous, tectonic shift in the way it thinks, builds cars and does business. Between alternative forms of energy, a renewed focus on low curb weights and aerodynamic bodies, the advent of driverless and autonomous cars and the need to reduce the our impact on the environment, it's very likely that the car that's built 10 years down the line will be scarcely recognizable when parked next to the car from 10 years ago.
Few people are as able to explain the industry's many upcoming changes and challenges as clearly as William Clay Ford, Jr., better known as Bill Ford. The 57-year-old currently sits as the executive chairman of the company his great-grandfather, Henry Ford, founded over 110 years ago.
In an op-ed piece in The Wall Street Journal (subscription required), Ford explains that the role of automakers is, necessarily, going to change to suit the needs of the future world. That means changing the view of not just the automobile, but the automaker. As Ford explains it, automakers will "move from being just car and truck manufacturers to become personal-mobility companies."
