This auction is for a used 1974 Ford Gran Torino Elite with 351 Windsor engine and C6 automatic transmission. This car has been undergoing repair work and is a running, driving and mostly completed car. Repair work done: Engine remanufactured at local machine shop and has added main stud girdle and rocker girdles. The boring process brought the cubic inches up from 351 to 357. The intake is a four barrel aluminum Edelbrock RPM Air Gap performance intake. The carburetor is a FoMoCo four barrel 4100 with vacuum secondaries and automatic choke. The brakes have mostly new parts and the steering gearbox has new seals installed. A new radiator was added and a new Die Hard Gold battery was installed. It has very rare functional automatic seat back unlatchers (when door opens seat backs unlatch for rear occupants to exit). It also includes an original set of hubcaps and it has new tires. It also includes a set of studded snow tires (one of which is currently serving as the spare). Also the exhaust and muffler are new. Repair work to be completed: Needs new carpet, one front seat spring needs repaired (easy to get to), rear defroster glass setup needs installed (have complete setup with wiring, switch and glass), lower body small rust repairs need completed, steering wheel needs crack repairs (a temporary one is in place and two original type and color steering wheels with a horn bar are included but are off the car for repairs), the dash pad has cracks and needs repaired, the right rear bumper mount needs replaced and the vinyl roof is old and needs replaced. There is some sawdust in some of the pictures and the car is dusty however I will clean it before pickup. The car has been garage kept and lightly driven by my parents for about 20 years and is drivable (as long as the rust is tended to so there's no chance of exhaust getting into the car however unlikely). Buyer pays all shipping and should arrange for delivery. I may at my discretion deliver for a set fee in and around PA state. An ideal garage for this car would be at least 21 feet in length. VIN 4G21H264169 Mileage says 13150 however I believe it is 113150 actually. Body 65M Color 5J 1 Trim JU Trans. U Axle 2 DSO 16 Date 6/74 GVWR 5463 Any questions feel free to ask. Thanks and have a nice day.

Ford offering factory-spec EcoBoost reflashes that don't void warranty*

Sat, Dec 27 2014

Buy a supercharger or cold-air kit from Ford Racing and a Performance Calibration handset comes with it to reset the ECU for the upgrade. Now Ford Racing is offering the ProCal handset a la carte for $595, allowing you to reflash the ECU on your EcoBoost-equipped ride to extract more of its inherent capabilities without any additional upgrades. It gives you control of variables such as throttle response, idle speed and turbo wastegate control, among others. As for that warranty asterisk, the press release says enthusiasts can up the power "while maintaining the Ford-backed limited warranty." However Ford Motor Co. and Ford Racing are separate entities, and, best we can tell, when you reflash the ECU, your Ford warranty gets supplanted by the Ford Racing warranty. Say you bought a 2014 Ford, that means your five-year, 60,000-mile warranty becomes Ford Racing's three-year, 36,000-mile warranty, if we're reading the fine print correctly. If you have an older car and have driven more than 36,000 miles, then your warranty options are kaput, at least as far as a Ford in-house option. If have warranty concerns, you might also want to consider having a dealer perform the reflash, or at least ask about it. Once you've got past the small print, what about the numbers? At the moment Ford Racing offers tunes for the 2.0-liter EcoBoost in the Focus ST and the 1.6-liter EcoBoost in the Fiesta ST, and we're told there's a 90-pound-foot boost in torque at the crank after you've pressed the right buttons. Anecdotal evidence from a commenter at Road & Track says he went from 252 horsepower at the flywheel to 254 hp at the wheels, and 272 lb-ft at the flywheel to 354 lb-ft at the wheels, but we can't be sure that his adjustments were within Ford Racing specs. Your mileage, naturally, may vary. What about custom numbers for the 2.3-liter EcoBoost in the 2015 Ford Mustang? They aren't ready yet, but we're told we'll get something by the end of next year. Ford pranks unsuspecting blind dates with Mustang GT and stunt driver

Thu, Feb 12 2015

There's 'speed dating,' that ludicrous get-to-know-you ritual devised by The Inquisition of Mating, and then there's 'dating at ludicrous speed,' which is a better description of what Ford has done in this latest video for the 2015 Mustang GT for your Valentine's Day enjoyment. The Blue Oval used a professional stunt driver to hook six guys into going on a little car trip, but the setup is the key – she pretends she's not that good at driving, until she's really good at it. You can check it out above. Kudos to the guy who goes from "You might want to shift again" to "That's what I'm talking about!" without any question. And the ninja.

2014 Roush Stage 3 Mustang

Fri, 26 Jul 2013

Up until now, it's been some years since I managed to get behind the wheel of the hot Mustangs tuned by the folks at Roush Performance. My memories of those vehicles are fond, as the Roush up-fits usually make for better-driving examples of the iconic Ford pony, with better-tuned suspensions, excellent short-shift kits and, of course, huge additions of power. The wake-your-neighbors aural characteristics of these cars have been nothing short of outstanding, too.
But in the years since my last experience with the Roush formula, Ford's own development team has churned out some pretty potent 'Stangs. We currently live in a world where the Blue Oval will sell you a Mustang with 662 horsepower from the factory, and the recently departed Boss 302 remains one of the best Mustangs - and best sports coupes - the Autoblog crew has ever driven.
So with great-driving and hugely powerful Mustangs coming straight off the line at Ford's Flat Rock Assembly Plant, does the Roush package still offer that extra special something to make it stand out? I spent a week with a Stage 3 coupe to find out.
