Up for sale is a 73 Ford Torino. A Starsky and Hutch look a like. The car is in used condition, has been repainted, not the best job, but the drive line has been changed out and up graded. Out came the 289 and in went a 351 Windsor with a C4 built to take the power of a 351. Motor has maybe 5000 miles on a rebuild, and tranny has 1000 miles. All new fluids in the car, electronic ignition, electric fuel pump, edelbrock carb and intake, dual exhaust, with glass packs, new plugs, wires, cap and rotor. factory manifolds, (no exhaust leaks like headers) power steering and power brakes. BF Goodrich tires fronts in good shape rears are new 500 miles ago. New carpet, head liner and other interior trim pieces. Car runs and drives really well. running out of room to store my old cars and wife said it must go!!! |

That Mulally was seriously being considered says a great deal about Microsoft and Mulally.
It appears that the chatter about Ford CEO Alan Mulally possibly leaving early to take over as CEO of Microsoft is losing air pretty fast. What's pretty interesting is that it got any traction in the first place.
Ford unveils Mustang 50th anniversary logo, plans merchandise
Tue, 26 Mar 2013The Ford Mustang turns 50 years old this year, and this is the logo that will announce the milestone occasion on a special line of merchandise. The graphic is the result of an internal design competition, and Ford will give 50 different companies the license to use it on traditional logo merchandise like shirts and watches, along with some untraditional items like pinball machines.
Ford is going to begin the celebrations at this week's New York Auto Show and continue them throughout the year, but April 17 is the official birthday of the the pony car that just won't quit. You can expect to start seeing anniversary merchandise in the next couple of weeks.
Ford celebrating 80 years of Aussie utes as it prepares to shutter Oz manufacturing
Wed, 26 Feb 2014Ford is ending Australian production after 90 years in 2016, and with it may go perhaps the most iconic vehicles in its auto market - the ute. Car-based pickup trucks like the Ford Ranchero and Chevrolet El Camino were always more of a curiosity than a true market force here, but in Australia, they have long proven hugely popular.
As the legend goes, Ford invented the niche after a farmer's wife had asked Ford Australia's managing director for a more utilitarian car. Her request was simple: "My husband and I can't afford a car and a truck but we need a car to go to church on Sunday and a truck to take the pigs to market on Monday. Can you help?"
Ford's design team came up with a two-passenger, enclosed, steel coupe body with glass windows and a steel-paneled, wooden-frame load area in the rear. The sides of the bed were blended into the body to make it look more unified, and to keep costs down, the front end and interior were based on the Ford Model 40 five-window coupe. Power came from a V8 with shifting chores handled by a three-speed manual. Within a year, the new vehicle was ready, and production began in 1934. Lead designer Lewis Bandt christened it the coupe-utility.
