1973 Ford Gran Torino Starsky & Hutch Clone 351 Cleveland Hot Rod Project No Res on 2040-cars
Brant, Michigan, United States
1973 Ford Gran Torino Sport Starsky & Hutch Clone project ---NO RESERVE--- Details: 351 Cleveland 2v engine.... Runs good Automatic floor console shift Factory Air Conditioning Factory Tachometer gauge package Black interior Q-code car - Originally red Condition: Currently in primer Body work done by previous owner Brand new rear air shocks New Battery cables Correct aluminum "peanut" mags front an rear to complete movie car clone RUNS AND DRIVES!!!!! I bought this car with the intentions of recreating the movie car from Starsky and Hutch. I searched and found the correct rims and I even have the magnet mount police light. The body work was all done by its previous owner. The hood had a fiberglass cowl screwed to it which I removed. The hood underneath was uncut and in good shape. There are a couple small screw holes which need to be filled before paint. The drivers front fender has a small ding in the front near the headlight bucket. Between purchase and pickup, it got bumped into. It's and easy pop-out and I have new bucket for it. All the glass is good. The interior is complete and in decent shape. It's currently removed for paint prep but all in the car. The bumpers are good and will polish up nicely. All the trim is there as well with the exception of the drip rails. I really don't want to sell the car. But, I need to put the money in other places. This is an opportunity for someone to own a bad-ass hot rod or show car for a reasonable price. Not everyone can afford $50,000 hot rods like fast & loud! Title is clear and open and in hand. I will accept a $200.00 deposit via paypal within 24 hours just to cover Ebay's outrageous fees. I'll accept the balance in cash. Must be paid for within 3 days unless we come to other verbal agreements. I may be able to deliver for a fee. Sold as-is, where-is. |

Martini Mustang is a 'what if moment' gone right
Wed, 23 Oct 2013Feast your eyes on a masterpiece. This is Steve Strope's Ford Mustang in the classic fastback bodystyle, and as you'll notice, it sports the signature colors of Martini Racing, a livery that's as legendary as any Gulf Racing-styled car. But the red, white and blues of the Martini stripe down this Mustang's middle tell only a very small part of the story, in the latest video from Petrolicious.
What would you guess is under the hood? A 289-cubic-inch V8? Maybe a 302, or some absurd Ford crate engine? Maybe Strope went all Tokyo Drift - he's actually responsible for the "Hammer" Plymouth Satellite driven by Vin Diesel at the end of the movie - and found an RB26DETT to drop into the pony car? You'd be wrong on all counts.
This mad, mad man somehow finagled a Ford-Lotus engine from a 1966 Indianapolis 500 car into the Mustang's engine bay. Yes, a Mustang with an engine designed for a 160-mile-per-hour, open-wheel racecar. That's like someone in 40 years dropping McLaren's 2.4-liter V8 from the MP4-28 into a Scion FR-S. It'd just make a monster.

Your official Ford Transit specs are here, $29,565* to start
Wed, 04 Jun 2014Ford has released the full list of pricing and specs on its new Transit, the replacement for the long-lived E-Series cargo van. Prices are set to start at $29,565 and can increase rapidly from there, depending on length, engine and wheelbase, among other options.
Let's talk first about those new engines. The base is the familiar 3.7-liter, naturally aspirated V6. It boasts 275 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque and can return up to 14 miles per gallon in the city and 19 mpg on the highway. This engine can also be adapted to run on LPG or compressed natural gas. Of course, there are better alternatives, for a price, the first of which is Ford's well-received, 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6. It packs 310 hp and a best-in-class 400 lb-ft of torque (available at just 2,500 rpm) while matching the naturally aspirated engine in both city and highway fuel economy.
Then, there's the diesel. With a 3.2-liter, five-cylinder diesel mill at its disposal, the Transit generates 350 lb-ft between 1,500 and 2,500 rpm, along with 185 hp. This engine hasn't been rated by the EPA, although we'd be really, really surprised if it didn't handily best either of the gas-powered engines in fuel efficiency. A six-speed automatic is standard, regardless of engine.
