1973 Ford Gran Torino Sport 5.8l on 2040-cars
Reynolds, Georgia, United States
Engine:351 Cleveland
Drive Type: Automatic
Make: Ford
Mileage: 89,742
Model: Torino
Trim: Gran Torino
All original 1973 Ford Gran Torino survivor. This car is a one family owned Georgia car. She spent most of her life in Conyers, Ga. She left the state twice, once on a week long trip to Florida and once to Louisiana for a funeral. I have the original bill of sale and title on the car. This car has never been Hot Rodded. The body is very solid, there are two very minor rust spots on the driver side rear quarter panel. One in front of the tire and one just behind the tire. (see pictures) Floor pans and trunk floor are solid. (there is on small area in the trunk with very minor rust I have pictured)
Car was kept in a carport all her life. The paint, vinyl, interior, engine and drivetrain are all original. The 351 Cleveland engine runs and the car drives and shifts out very nice. I changed the rear brake lines on the car since I purchased it because the rubber line was collapsed after 40 years.
I haven't painted the car because it is the original paint and I wanted the new owner to be able to see exactly what they were getting. She is a true survivor with only 89742 miles.
The interior is very nice. The driver seat has two tears in it at the seams. (an upholstery shop may be able to repair this) The dash is in great shape as well as are the door panels. The vinyl top is in pretty good shape for 40yrs. The strip below the back glass seems to have shrunk and pulled away from the molding some, and there is one small area at the bottom right corner of the back glass. I have pictures of both.
It comes with 5 original hub caps. There are two pictured in the trunk but I have all 5.

Fewest vehicles ever found eligible for Most American survey
Mon, 30 Jun 2014Once again, the most American car on the market is from an American brand. The Ford F-150 retained its number one spot in Cars.com's annual survey of the most American vehicles, trumping the Toyota Camry, which remains at number two.
Ford taking the top spot is small consolation, though, as the Detroit Three aren't too well represented here. General Motors scored a win at number seven, with the Chevrolet Corvette, while Chrysler squeaked in at number ten, with the Dodge Viper. Outside of those three vehicles, Toyota and Honda dominate the top ten.
What's most remarkable, though, is that there were so few cars available for this year's list.
Ford Focus PHEV on the way?
Tue, Jan 21 2014A refreshed Ford Focus is in the works and that means a few details are leaking out. Spy shots from last month indicated the Focus will have a gaping grille just like its "One Ford" global C-segment comrade, the Fiesta. While Ford is being quiet about it, the Focus could also be getting an "Energi" option, joining the C-Max Energi and Fusion Energi in Ford's plug-in hybrid family. The Focus will likely use technology originated in the C-Max Energi that combines a 2.0-liter gasoline engine with an electric motor capable of a 20-mile range, according to Autoexpress. The pure electric Focus is expected to stay in the lineup despite its slow sales; its price range should be similar to what's on the market now. The third-generation Focus looked good enough to become the top-selling nameplate in the world in 2012. Some exterior changes to look for in the Euro-spec model at the Geneva Motor Show in March include a reshaped hood, front wing endplate and rear bumper. Interior spy shots have hinted at an updated dashboard design and a simplified, less cluttered control panel with updated climate controls. Under the hood, there are quite a few power options rumored to be available - a gasoline EcoBoost with up to 123 horsepower and two turbo-diesel TDCI options, a 1.6-liter or 2.0-liter mills that would produce between 94 hp and 161 hp. Then there are new 1.5-liter diesel and 1.5-liter EcoBoost gasoline variants that meet regulations in China, Brazil and Russia.
Ford to auction Mustang Cobra Jet prototype for charity [w/video]
Mon, 16 Sep 2013Prototypes developed by major automakers typically remain in said company's custody, but every once in a while, one trickles out into private hands. And that's just what we have here. Ford is donating a one-of-a-kind factory prototype for the 2014 Mustang Cobra Jet that will be auctioned off later this month by Barrett-Jackson in Las Vegas to benefit the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
Powered by a 5.0-liter supercharged V8 mated to a T4 competition gearbox, this rare Cobra Jet prototype includes a wheelie bar, chromoly roll cage, Weld wheels, three-link rear suspension, racing brakes, 9-inch rear axle and more. It's painted in a unique satin orange with reflective gray striping scheme, bears the serial number 2014 BJMS CJXX1 and is fully ready for NHRA competition on the drag strip.
To be offered with no reserve on Saturday, September 28, 2013, the Cobra Jet prototype's winning bidder will also receive tutelage at Roy Hill's Drag Racing School in Sophia, NC, along with tours of the Ford Product Development Center, Ford Racing headquarters and Ford Design Studios with Mustang chief engineer Dave Pericak. Scope out the video and details below for what could be the ultimate Mustang experience for a good cause.
