1971 ford torino 500 fastback originally purchased at Berge Ford in Mesa Arizona. I purchased the torino from the original owner in 1989 at the time it was their everyday car and had 128,440 miles on it. I am the 2nd owner , when I brought the torino home to Michigan I had the original motor and transmission rebuilt. I have owned the Torino for 24 years the car has 142,516 miles on it today. The torino has plenty of factory options including M-code 351 4 barrel cleveland, C6 automatic column shift transmission, 3.00 traction loc rear axle, grabber yellow paint, white bucket seat interior, 15 inch magnum 500 wheels, lazer stripe, bumber guards, factory tach, factory air conditioning {not working at this time} This torino is 1 of 8 built with grabber yellow paint & white interior. 1 of 43 with factory magnum 500's. The body has all original paint an sheet metal, it is 99% rust free with only surface rust in areas seen in pictures. there are door dings and some dents from over the years, nothing serious. Its one of those cars do you restore it or leave it original. I have people say leave it alone its only original once and other people say restore it, well I left it original! The rear window louvers and shaker were added by myself and not original to the car, they are original Ford parts though. I have an original window sticker and some paper work from the original owner, I also have a deluxe marti report. Since 2004 I have only driven the Torino 600 miles, recently I tuned it up with spark plugs, wires & cap, new front brakes. Starts right up and sounds good. The car needs to be driven . I reserve the right to stop this auction at any time, it is for sale locally. I will accept cash only or bank transfer. Buyer is responsible for pickup an shipping of vehicle and all cost related! Any questions call 810-923-3784 { no sales overseas! no scams involving someone on a ship!}

2016 Ford Taurus to ride atop reworked Fusion platform
Wed, 19 Mar 2014Generally, cars get bigger and heavier as they get older. That's why it looks so ridiculous when you park a classic Mini next to a modern version. The same can be said of the Corvette, the BMW 3 Series, Porsche 911 and, of course, the Ford Taurus. In the Taurus' case, though, that size has become a liability, particularly because the big brute isn't nearly as sizable on the inside as it is on the out.
For 2016, Ford is aiming to rectify that. According to Edmunds, the 2016 Taurus will ride on a stretched and widened Ford Fusion platform. Ford is expecting this move to go a long way in trimming the Taurus' ample body fat.
"The problem with today's Taurus is that it is overweight and even the high performance SHO is not really competitive," said a source that spoke to Edmunds on condition of anonymity. The 365-horsepower SHO variant, "actually weighs about as much as the stretched Audi A8 L. Of course, Audi uses an extensive amount of aluminum, but it is a much bigger car."
Marchionne open to combination with Ford or GM
Fri, Mar 13 2015At the depths of the auto industry implosion, there was widely reported talk that General Motors and Chrysler would be merged into a mighty import-beating behemoth. While such notions clearly never materialized, that doesn't mean the idea is dead. In fact, FCA boss Sergio Marchionne still welcomes the idea of a partnership with either GM or Ford. He responded positively to the idea, calling it "technically feasible," when asked about it at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show, Automotive News reports. "There's bantering that goes on all the time," Marchionne told AN, before quashing suspicions that a plan was in the works by adding that "nothing substantive" was going on. Our favorite black sweater enthusiast isn't quite as interested in the idea of teaming with a foreign manufacturer like PSA Peugeot Citroen, or in the rumored tie-up with Volkswagen, though. That is a shame, particularly in regards to Marchionne's shut down of a partnership with the French, although it isn't necessarily surprising – FCA already consists of eight automakers, and as Sergio told AN, there's really nothing at PSA that could help the company out. What are your thoughts? Is there an obvious project or segment that would benefit from an FCA partnership with Ford or GM? Have your say in Comments. Watch this lead sled go rallying in Finland
Thu, 19 Jun 2014Custom cars generally fit into neat little boxes in terms of how they are used. For example, you're unlikely to see a modded Corvette going rock crawling; it's just not what it's made for (though we bet it'd look awesome, for a minute). In the same way, chopped, channeled and customized '50s hot rods aren't really meant to go racing. They look great and go fast, but they are generally more cruisers than sports cars.
However, if this video is any indication, the people of Finland don't adhere in these stereotypes, because this rodder is happy to play in the dirt with his lead sled.
According to the video, the driver is a member of the Ford-Freak Club of Finland, and he clearly knows how to have some fun. Possibly inspired by his country's great rally drivers, he gets the tail way out going around this gently curving gravel track. The stunt is somewhat reminiscent of the stock cars races on the sand at Daytona Beach, and this is probably close to what it sounded like too. Scroll down to watch a very cool Finn getting his hot rod a little dirty.
