Up for sale is a 1971 Ford Torino Squire wagon. A brief history of the car... The car was purchased by a older man from the original owner back in 1998. At that time the car had 80,500 miles. The second owner drove this car nearly every day and racked up an additional 110,000. During this time the car got what ever it needed. I have a folder about 2" thick of receipts. They have to total well over $10,000. There is so many I have not added them all up. Mechanically the car runs, drives and stops great. The wagon has a stock drive train with additional new dual exhaust and a functional GT hood scoop. It has a wonderful sound.Everything seems to work as it should. With the exception of high beams(could be just bulbs) and the 2 way tailgate only opens down. Other than that it is all there. The underside is very solid. The rear cargo well floor has some rust. The exterior is very presentable. There are several spots of bubbles and rust that would need to be addressed to make it show worthy. The interior is all original and very very nice. This is a great car to drive while you restore. This car is very roadworthy and could be driven everyday. If you would like to see this woodie in person or if you have any questions feel free to contact me either through Ebay or by calling 203-927-2721. Thanks you for your interest.

Ford gives police chiefs tech to surveil officers in their own cars
Tue, 28 Oct 2014Police officers certainly have a difficult job in keeping the streets safe, but as public employees in positions of authority, there is still a very real need for oversight. To that end, Ford is partnering with a tech company to offer a new system called Ford Telematics for Law Enforcement on its line of Police Interceptor patrol vehicles that could make cops safer, while giving cities a better idea of what its officers are doing.
The system streams live data about cruisers back to the home base to people like the police chief or shift supervisor. That info includes expected things like speed, location and cornering acceleration, but it gets incredibly granular as well, with records of things like if emergency lights are on, or even if an officer is wearing a seatbelt.
Ford Telematics for Law Enforcement "ought to protect officers as much as it protects the public," said Ford spokesperson Chris Terry to Autoblog. Constantly monitoring patrol cars offers cities a lot of advantages, too. First, it reduces potential liability because a department can prove where each vehicle is at all times. Also, officers know they are being watched and may potentially drive more safely.

How the Ford F-150 SVT Raptor became a reality
Wed, 01 May 2013The camouflaged Ford F-150 SVT Raptor prototype captured above blazing its way across the desert during a test run left company engineers giggling in amazement, reveals Jamal Hameedi in a new Autoweek video. Ford's global performance vehicle chief engineer, accompanied by senior exterior designer Bruce Williams, sat down with the publication to discuss the concept and development of the automaker's super off-road F-150.
Designing a high-performance pickup in 2008, right when the cost of gasoline was going through the roof, seemed insane at the time, but the team pushed forward with the innovative vehicle regardless. The interview includes plenty of Ford B-roll footage as visual candy, and the conversations include discussions about exterior design, ride comfort, anti-lock brake tuning, suspension engineering, weight reduction and why it was necessary to make the Raptor visually different than Ford's standard F-150. The model's origin story is very interesting, and you can learn more about it by watching the video below.
