The floors are not bad but have never been done..it currently has a blown head gasket. the wheel well has a header coming through it so as to keep each pipe the same length from the exhaust port to the collector. the hole that was cut is a little rough. there is surface rust here and there."

This is a rare 1971 matching numbers Torino Cobra. VIN# 1A38C227363. The engine was rebuilt in 2001 and not been plated since 2003 where it has been in storage until now.
It`s board 30 over and stroked to a powerful 460, with 460 crank, triple springs, hydraulic lifters, with  custom grind special order camshaft. awesome at idle!!
850 Holley double pumper, roller rockers, brass guided valves, msd ignition , 3500 stall  converter, 9inch ford rear end with 4:11 gears.. I have the original factory gears(3:90 I believe), hi volume oil pump,  long tube headers/each pipe equal length to the collectors, ...flow masters, extra rear windshield with defrost wires, extra drive shaft , extra grill parts and corner body moldings, Detroit locker new in a box, new interior carpet,  new weather stripping and rubber moldings, windshield clips and other fasteners, two sets of cobra stickers for different paint  colors, shop manuals, original ford paint chip color chart, original sales brochures, original air foiled new antenna, wiring diagrams, etc...
Currently has a blown head gasket. Should have used steel, my bad.
Worst part of the car is top half of the firewall. The previous owner whom I have known for 28 years, had it parked on his driveway under a tree in Springfield Virginia. Leaves accumulated between the windshield and sat on the top part of the firewall which caused it to rot. The bottom vertical part of the firewall is solid.

Other than that, the floors have never been done..rest of the car is solid. In restored shape, this car is worth good money! Or just fix the head gasket and roar with it for now!
  The 71` 429cj w/shaker/louvers is rare!
paid $2200us for  rear window louvers.. took three years to appear on eBay.
The shaker hood scoop shown was modified to fit the offenhouser high-rise manifold..and the 850 Holley dbl pumper... I have a complete shaker assembly in a box purchased for $2300us on eBay.
NOTE:The louvers and shaker, and other items, may be excluded  from the deal if need be to  accommodate  an offer.... otherwise they are considered included with the offer.
The paint and the interior is not original.
By  DSO sticker  it had vermillion (red) interior, and light pewter metallic on the body from factory....the interior is currently black, it has buckets,,,, you take it from there....

Uber hopes facilities in Detroit will help shape its autonomous future

Mon, Sep 19 2016

Hot off the heels of unleashing its fleet of self-driving vehicles in Pittsburgh, PA, Uber announced plans to open a new facility in the Detroit, MI area, reports Automotive News. The new facility was announced at an event hosted by Society of Automotive Engineers in Detroit, MI. Uber's vice president of global vehicle programs Sherif Marakby revealed the news, reports Automotive News. The facility is meant to help the ride-sharing company collaborate with suppliers and automakers in the area. There's no word on where Uber will build the new facility or how big it will be, as those factors have yet to be determined. Just like Pittsburgh, PA, Detroit, MI could become another testing ground for the ride-sharing company. The latest move to open a facility in the Detroit area comes after Uber offered users in Pittsburgh the chance to ride in one of its autonomous vehicle as it looks to gain vital real-world testing. Uber is utilizing a fleet of modified Ford Fusions. Earlier this year in April, the automaker announced a partnership with Google, Lyft, Uber, and Volvo to develop autonomous cars. A new facility in Detroit would strengthen the partnership and help Uber, as well as Ford put autonomous vehicles on the road faster. Gary Cooper's 1935 Duesenberg SSJ fetches record price at Pebble Beach

Mon, Aug 27 2018

The 1935 Duesenberg SSJ formerly owned by Gary Cooper sold for a jaw-dropping $22 million over the weekend at the Gooding & Co. Pebble Beach auction, setting a record for the most valuable pre-war car ever sold at auction. It also appears to have become the most expensive American collector car ever sold at auction, eclipsing the very first Shelby Cobra ever made, which sold for $13.75 million in 2016. The Duesenberg was also the lone American-made entrant in the list of top 10 sellers, which was crowded with the names Ferrari and Porsche. You have to go all the way down the list to No. 21 to find the next American car: a 1930 Packard 734 Speedster Phaeton, which sold for a mere $1.127 million. All told, Gooding & Co. said it realized more than $116.5 million in auction sales over the weekend, with a whopping 25 cars sold for north of $1 million, an 84 percent sales rate and an average transaction price of $947,174. Clearly this is how the other half 1 percent lives. Gooding & Co. said there were five world-record sales at the auction. Joining the Duesenberg were a 1955 Ferrari 500 Mondial Series II, which sold for $5.005 million; a 1958 Ferrari 250 GT Tour de France Berlinetta, $6.6 million; a 1967 Ferrari 330 GTC Speciale, $3.41 million; and a one-of-two 1966 Ferrari Dino Berlinetta GT, $3.08 million. Oh, and that 1969 Ford Bronco test vehicle we told you about? The one that was rebadged by Holman & Moody as a Bronco Hunter? It sold for $121,000, which was well below the expected range of $180,000 to $220,000. Perhaps it was the presence of all those gorgeous Porsche Spyders and Ferraris that meant collectors weren't interested in boxy, utilitarian off-roaders. View 24 Photos Gooding and Co. had expected the convertible Duesenberg coupe to go for more than $10 million. It was one of only two of its kind built by Duesenberg — the other having gone to Clark Gable — with a specially shortened, 125-inch wheelbase and a supercharged straight-eight with double overhead cams, able to produce around 400 horsepower and a top speed of 140 miles per hour. It features a lightweight open-roadster bobtail body produced by LaGrande out of Connersville, Ind. The car was also owned at one point by race driver Briggs Cunningham.

Former Cadillac boss Butler takes Ford tech job

Tue, 07 Jan 2014

When Don Butler made the surprising decision to leave his post as Cadillac's VP of global strategic development, it was a surprise. Citing a desire to "recalibrate, reassess my priorities" in that August announcement, it wasn't entirely clear where Butler - a virtual General Motors lifer after spending nearly 30 years with the company - would end up. Turns out he took a trip to Dearborn.
Butler has taken a position in the newly created position of Executive Director of Connected Vehicles and Services at Ford, where he'll be responsible for the Blue Oval's global connectivity strategy. "Not only does Don understand the connected car landscape, but probably just as important, he understands customer expectations," said Raj Nair, who, as Group Vice President of Global Product Development, is Butler's new boss. "Having a leader with technology experience both inside and outside the industry is a rare combination - we're excited to have Don join our team."
As Ford has received its fair share of flak for the sometimes recalcitrant MyFord Touch infotainment system and its Sync voice-controls, it appears that Butler has his work cut out for him.
