You are looking at a a J-code Shaker Equipped 429CJ Ram Air Torino Cobra project car. It is an ex-Drag car from New Jersey that has been sitting for many years!! This was a 1 owner Cobra that is a Real Red Exterior, Black Bucket Seat and Console car.

It was a local New Jersey Bracket racer at Englishtown Raceway and has many Class Winner Decals on the 1/4 window reflecting this.

This an ORIGINAL 1970 Torino Cobra and I have the Deluxe Marti Sheet on to document it's options and production numbers.

This Torino Cobra was originally equipped as follows:

429 Cobra Jet Ram Air Engine
C-6 Automatic Transmission
3.50 N-case 31 Spline 9 inch Rear
Red Exterior Paint
Black Knitted Vinyl Bucket Seat Interior
Shaker Hood
Console
Power Steering
Power Disc Brakes
F70-14 Raised White Letter Tires
AM Radio

Once it's racing days were over it was set out in the yard to languish for many years.

The body is pretty much complete as shown, but it is a RUSTY car!! Now I have seen worse cars than this one restored and better ones cut up. The good news on this one is at least this one has a decent pedigree. The Cobra Grille in the car while not perfect is actually in decent shape and is a VERY HIGH DOLLAR piece!

The interior is mostly original but is missing the original front seats and console. I do have a replacement air of 1970-1971 Torino/Cyclone Bucket Seat that I will include with the car. The original back seat and door panels in the car are in decent shape for their age. The dash and door panels still retain their original Cobra Emblems on them.

The good: it is a REAL J-code 429CJ Ram Air Cobra (38 body code) and comes with what I have been told is a 429CJ just not the original block to the car. I have not opened it up to see, but is does have D00E-R 429CJ Heads with CJ Aluminum Valve covers and a DOOE Iron CJ Intake manifold! I know nothing else about it and would assume it needs a complete overhaul. Car still has it's original 9 inch 31 Spline N-case rear end underneath it. It also comes with the 429CJ Shaker top assembly with an incorrect base.

The BAD: Car is a Rusty New Jersey car!! Been off the road a long time and is rusty or scaly all over the bottom side with a rusty rear driver frame rail.

The Original Transmission is missing.

I have the original New Jersey Title for this car from 1970.

Car does roll and the engine is laying in the engine bay for shipment.

If the winning bidder so desires I do have a rock solid 2 owner running factory Red 1970 Fairlane 500 from California that I bought to use as a parts car to restore the Cobra and while not a part of this auction I can make it available at a very reasonable extra cost. I will include a couple of pictures of the Fairlane to the bottom of this auction, but IT IS NOT A PART OF THIS AUCTIOn. This Auction is for the 1970 Ford Torino Cobra ONLY as described in the auction text above.

Please look at the pictures and ask any questions BEFORE you bid!! I want you to be sure of what you are bidding on and for us both to be satisfied with the Torino Cobra's described condition and its sale. I expect a deposit within 24 hours of auctions end and balance of payment within 7 days of auction end. This 1970 Ford Torino Cobra is a 44+ year old project car and as such is being auctioned 'as-is where-is' and 'as-described' with no warranties either expressed or implied. I have described this 1970 Torino Cobra project car accurately so please read the auction text and look at the pictures carefully to make sure this is what you want before bidding. If you are not sure please do not bid. I take my auctions seriously and so should you. Good Luck and Happy Bidding!!!

Ford Fiesta ST gets worked out on the track

Sun, 10 Mar 2013

We're big fans of the turbocharged Ford Focus ST, and we're plenty excited that the Blue Oval will be offering a similar treatment on the smaller Fiesta here in the United States, too. We first saw the production-ready Fiesta ST five-door at the Los Angeles Auto Show last fall, and Ford has now released this video of a Euro-spec three-door ST being flung around the track.
But not just any track - the challenging Track 7 of Ford's Lommel Proving Grounds in Belgium. The course features 20 turns and plenty of elevation changes along its 2.7-mile loop, and David Put, a vehicle dynamic specialist at Ford, shows just how good the pint-sized Fiesta ST is at handling the lot, even getting the smallest ST up on three wheels every now and then.
It sure does look like a lot of fun, and makes us really eager for our chance to try this ourselves. Scroll down to see the hot little Ford getting busy.

Ford dissects the heart of the 2015 Mustang, its engine range

Thu, 05 Dec 2013

Happy Mustang Day. Are you tired of hearing about the 2015 Ford Mustang yet? No? Good, here's a bunch of mechanical data on Ford's sixth-gen muscle car, along with cutaways of the GT's 5.0-liter V8 and the new 2.3-liter, EcoBoost four-cylinder shown above. We also have a smattering of info on the Stang's updated transmissions and an exploded-parts-diagram view of its all-new independent rear suspension.
Ford is set to make waves offering the Mustang with a turbo for the firs time since the small-volume SVO of the 1980s. Displacing 2.3 liters, the engine's twin-scroll turbo should help the four-cylinder turn out a projected 305 horsepower and 300 pound-feet of torque, while also returning the best fuel economy in the Mustang's engine lineup. As we said in our Deep Dive, the EcoBoost will be slotted in as a premium engine, above the 3.7-liter V6 but below the 5.0-liter V8.
Speaking of that high-revving eight-cylinder, it's receiving a new cylinder head with high-flow ports. The intake and exhaust valves are larger and the cams have been replaced, among other tweaks. It should rev even higher thanks to a rebalanced crankshaft and forged connecting rods. Ford is still claiming a projected 420 hp and 390 lb-ft, although as many of the changes for the 2015's V8 come from the 2013 Boss 302, we're going to assume there's some sandbagging at work.

2015 Ford Mustang production to begin on July 14? Not quite, says Ford

Thu, 10 Jul 2014

Mustang6g.com believes that it has unlocked start date for 2015 Ford Mustang production citing a Ford dealer communiqué. According to the report, job one on the 2015 hardtop will allegedly start in just a few days, on July 14, although units that are known as "OK to Buy" won't enter production until September 9. The cars built between those dates are most likely final pre-production cars for the executive test fleet, and will likely include the cars we'll be driving at the media launch.
Sun worshippers, meanwhile, would seem to have a longer wait. Job one on the droptop supposedly isn't slated to start until September 14, with production models starting on October 27. As is the case with the hardtop, these final pre-pros are for the execs and media to test, while actual dealer orders will come from vehicles made after the October date.
After speaking to Ford, though, we wouldn't put a great deal of stock in those dates as reported. We reached out to Said Deep, Ford's North American Product Communications Manager.
