I recently ran across this in Indiana. 3 weekends ago. So it does have the Indiana Title still. I was driving thru on way Back to Michigan with empty trailer & just happen to Run across 2 guys pulling this out of Barn to the Road. I pulled over & asked if it was for sale. Needless to say It was :) .The Guy told me that it was a Real Cobra & I said for being as solid as it is & you want that. I'll take it. The Guy said Car has been painted many times & it has Rust Free Doors,Decklid & Hood from a Green Car. The Shaker wasn't ordered with this car but it is an added bonus. On the Body there is 1 small rust hole that you can see in one pic.I took from inside so you can see there is no more rust on that quarter. The car Does NOT come with #s Matching motor & trans. Guy said that when he got it that guy told Him that Original Motor & Trans was Stolen. And Car didn't have motor when He got it. He ended up Putting a Running 75 460 Motor & Automatic in Car that had 45,000 on it He pulled the Pedals & installed Automatic Pedals. The Pedals & Z-bar & parts he kept & comes with car. He never finished it by putting Exhaust on it.And installing a Shifter. I can't get it running But It Cranks really good. And it does Have Brakes It looks to have all Original Fuel & brake lines that are solid as there is no Rust on Floor or Frame rails,Rockers or Trunk pans & Staggered Shock area. Hump was cut to accommodate automatic trans & Cowl is super Solid. There are dings on Car but Super Solid !! When I got it home ,I put new dash Pad on that they had in a Box. Old Pad was very brittle & I Ended up Pulling a Marti Report to see if it was a Real Cobra & Yes Check out the Marti. 2014 Ford Cobra Jet announced with new colors, parachute mount
Fri, 22 Mar 2013Ford's drag-strip-ready Mustang Cobra Jet is back for 2014, and it's sporting a few changes to make it even better - both in competition and while sitting still. Rolling off the assembly line ready for duty in the NHRA Stock or Super Stock classes, production of the 2014 Cobra Jet is limited to just 50 units.
Racing upgrades for 2014 include the addition of a new three-speed transmission and a parachute mount, and while these will make the car better in the quarter mile, the Cobra Jet's new colors will make it look better tearing down the track. Buyers can now get their racecars painted up in Gotta Have-It Green or a custom, Cobra Jet-exclusive matte black hue. Ford and Ford Racing have already teamed up to make this an incredible factory drag racer with a full rollcage, massive Hoosier slicks, a race-tuned suspension setup and a supercharged 5.0-liter V8. Now, if only wheelie bars came standard...
Unlike the confusing third-party ordering system announced for the COPO Camaro, all you need to snatch up a 2014 Cobra Jet is $97,990 and good timing (as the cars will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis). Ordering opens up next month with production commencing in July. Check out the press release below.
NHTSA closes Ford F-150 EcoBoost acceleration probe
Mon, 14 Apr 2014Typically when we report on the findings of an investigation from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, it's because the government body has discovered a safety issue and prescribed a recall. In this case, however, NHTSA has closed an investigation into a reported performance deficit without ever getting to the recall stage.
The issue revolves around the Ford F-150 - specifically those equipped with the 3.5-liter EcoBoost engine - of which some 360,000 were built in the 2011, 2012 and 2013 model years. After receiving an initial 95 complaints, NHTSA opened an investigation last May - almost a year ago - into the reported issue of reduced engine power under hard acceleration. The agency has since received a total of 525 such complaints, and Ford itself reported receiving over 4,000.
Together, NHTSA and Ford determined that the problem resulted from cylinders misfiring, an issue itself stemming from water getting into the charge air cooler (CAC) mated to the turbochargers. In particularly humid or rainy conditions, water was found to get into the CAC, causing some of the cylinders to misfire, which in turn triggered the ECU to disable those cylinders in order to protect the catalytic converter from damage.
Carmakers, NHTSA to unveil auto-emergency braking agreement tomorrow
Wed, Mar 16 2016Happy St. Patrick's Day Eve. Tomorrow, there will be green beer, corned beef and cabbage, and automatic emergency braking for all. Weird combo, we know. But on St. Patty's we can expect an official announcement from a pact of automakers making auto-braking systems standard equipment by 2022. That's per a report from Reuters, which cites three sources familiar with the plans. Originally announced in September 2015 by 10 automakers and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the agreement is expected to be even larger when the details are unveiled tomorrow. According to Reuters, the manufacturers of 99 percent of the US domestic market's vehicles will be represented by the new agreement. It's believed that standard AEB systems could prevent thousands of accidents across the country. Expect more on the official announcement when it's made. Related Video:
