Hey Everyone!  If you have been looking for a torino, look no further!  This car is a beautiful example of an unmolested 35,000 mile survivor.  This car is a great 44 year old specimen of how cars used to be built, with American quality!  This car is optioned with power steering, manual brakes, first year 351 windsor powerplant backed by first year FMX auto transmission.  It has the ever popular Ford 9 inch rear end with 3.00 open gears.  Over the past several years I have replaced worn or faded parts on the car, most of them I still have the originals.  I have replaced the following:  fuel tank, fuel pump, fuel sender, water pump, all hoses and clamps(date coded reproductions), spark plug wires (date coded reproductions), I replaced the original two barrel intake and carb with a date coded correct four barrel intake and autolite 4300 carb (have originals), choke tube, battery cables (date coded), battery (original cased autolite reproduction), interior carpet (have original), some exterior emblems (have originals), I had the exhaust professionally bent and welded together (2 1/2 inch, H pipe, and dual flowmaster 50 series mufflers with great tone), rear leaf springs, all shocks, I have put a completely new front suspension under the car (all springs, strut rods, sway bars, control arms, ball joints were painted to match originals including any paint markings from the factory), I replaced the power steering cylinder, idler arm, etc.  All rubber suspension parts were replaced as well.  Being 44 years old I was afraid that something might give and cause catastrophic damage to this beauty.  Better safe than sorry.  All bearings were replaced including u joints.  All chrome or stainless trim is original and shines nicely.  Only real blemish is the top of the rear bumper where the chrome is sun checked and the wheel well trim that they can't seem to remake properly (sent back three sets because they looked worse than the originals).  The other trim has minor imperfections and are driver quality or better (some light pitting).  In the interior, I have replaced the carpet (have original, it was faded), and the door arm rests.  I also took an original am radio faceplate and placed it over a ken harrison am/fm radio with Aux input for modern sound with original looks (have original).  I put in Polk 6x9's in the rear under original factory speaker grills (look and sound great).  Other than that the seats, door panels, dash, and headliner are originals and in great shape (one small scratch on drivers seat cushion barely noticeable).  Original seatbelts with shoulder harness that attaches to the headliner.  This was an Arizona car for the majority of it's life so no rust here!  I even have the original bill of sale from the dealership, factory manual, and some reproduction literature that you would find in the car.  The body is straight with very few faults.  The car was painted, in the early to mid 90's and is still beautiful.  Always garage kept and cared for it has just a couple of small blemishes that you would have to be right on top of to notice.  The underside of the car is very nice and was coated in POR-15 to keep any rust from forming as these cars were just primed on the underside from the factory.  I have all receipts for the above work/parts.  I forgot to mention that this car still runs on it's original R12 A/C.  Had a seal replaced and system charged 5+ years ago and it still blows cold!  This car can be driven anytime, anywhere.  Get in, push the gas pedal once to set the choke, turn the key and she fires right up, push the gas again to drop the high idle and she purrs like a kitten.  The engine has never been apart other than the intake swap and water pump replacement so it still runs on leaded gas.  I put a bottle of lead substitute in every tank to protect the valves.  Cosmetically I did paint the engine but the engine bay is original paint and stickers.  trunk has original stickers and stamps from the factory.  I did replace the trunk mat (have original).  I have the framed Delux Marti Report with reproduction window sticker, vin tag, and production numbers.  Of the few hundred thousand fairlanes and torinos produced in 1969 this car is 1 of 80 with this paint and trim!  I am no mathmatician but that means that somewhere around 0.002% of the cars produced were this color and trim!  In my opinion, they didn't make a prettier color combo than the Lime Gold Metallic with White interior and trim.  Simply beautiful! and Rare!  Of that percentage how many do you think are still out there?  and with just over 35,000 miles?  Good luck finding one!  I love this car!  I don't have to get rid of it.  I am not in a bind financially and if reserve isn't met, I won't sell it.  I just have always thought of myself as the caretaker of the car.  Just a part of it's history.  I hope it will be around and looking great long after I am gone.  Since buying the car 7+ years ago, I have started a family, have two small children that take most of my time and energy.  I am changing diapers not engines at this point in my life.  I feel it is a shame to let the car sit as much as it does. It wants and deserves to be driven to car shows and cruise-ins.  I will be really sad if it does sell but also happy that it will be getting to be enjoyed by someone else.  Now comes the fun part.  This car is 44 years old, there is no warranty expressed on my part.  The car is "as is-where is".  Any shipping is the responsibility of the purchaser.  I will not arrange or pay for any shipping.  I have turned cars over to shipping companies in the past for shipment all over the country.  I will meet a transporter if the distance is within reason.  I determine what is reasonable.  I prefer that the car be inspected by the buyer prior to purchase.  I also prefer that the car be picked up by the purchaser and the transfer of funds be in person.  That is just a preference, I have accepted wire transfers and PayPal in the past.  We cand discuss that later.  No Scammers!  I have already been tried in that department and If it seems fishy or too dificult to make the transaction, I will just walk away.  Please be upfront and honest with me, I have tried to be honest with you.  I have sold three cars on ebay in the past and all of the buyers said that the cars were better than described.  That being said, This car is by far the nicest car I have ever owned.  If you have any questions or I have forgotten to mention something, please ask and I will do my best to accomodate you.  Happy Bidding! and bid to buy before I change my mind.  I do reserve the right to pull this auction at anytime since it is for sale locally as long as the reserve has not been met.  Once the reserve is met, It will sell and I will probably be crying!    Mileage may increase slightly.  It's a nice weekend and I may take it to a car show or cruise in!

Ford Escort is ready to focus on the Chinese market

Mon, 21 Apr 2014

Ford officially revived the Escort name in China, showing of the new, four-door compact at the Beijing Motor Show. Painted in a stylish brown-bronze, the new sedan wears a number of global Ford styling cues while sharing its platform with the Ford Focus.
Power for the new model comes from a 1.5-liter four-cylinder, although Ford doesn't specify just how much power is on offer, simply saying that the fuel economy of the new mill will be "outstanding." It's unclear what transmission will be distributing the engine's power, although based on the images we've seen, the Escort will definitely offer a two-pedal setup.
The layout of the cabin is fairly clean, although as we mentioned in our initial post on the new Escort, it's a decidedly sparser environment than we've grown use to in US-spec Fords of late. If anything, it's like a weird blend of current Ford switchgear with an overall look that reminds us of older Ford layouts. Still, it looks like a comfortable way of moving five people about without too much fuss. There's ample space both front and rear, and a rather spacious trunk.

Ford names Lincoln chief as North American president following Nair's departure

Thu, Feb 22 2018

Ford announced yesterday that its North American president Raj Nair would no longer be working for the company due to "inappropriate behavior." As a result, the company needed fill that gaping vacancy. The new North American president and Ford Group vice president will be Kumar Galhotra, and his term in the new role will start on March 1. Galhotra will remain the group vice president and chief marketing officer for Lincoln through March, meaning he's the head of the luxury brand. He's had this position since 2014. Before that, he was vice president of engineering for all of Ford. With Galhotra's promotion, a number of internal promotions follow. Joy Falotico, current chairman, CEO and group vice president of Ford's credit division will fill Galhotra's position, and Dave McClelland, vice president of marketing for Ford Asia Pacific, will fill her role. Other shuffling at Ford includes Stewart Rawley's promotion to vice president for Ford North America and chief operating officer. He is the current vice president for strategy at Ford. Ford China's chairman and CEO John Lawler will take Rawley's old role, and Cathy O'Callaghan will take over Lawler's job at Ford China, but not until June 1. O'Callaghan is currently vice president, corporate controller and chief financial officer for global markets at Ford. Related Video:

Chip Foose tastefully enhances his personal Ford GT

Wed, 05 Nov 2014

Typically, we'd expect a vehicle from 2006 to fall well short of a more modern vehicle, both in terms of performance and style. Of course, the Ford GT is not your average offering from the Bush era. That's doubly true when the 2006 GT in question belongs to one Chip Foose.
Purchased by his wife as a 50th birthday present, Foose is showing his custom, personalized GT at the 2014 SEMA Show. The 5.4-liter supercharged V8 breathes a bit easier thanks to a full Magnaflow Performance exhaust, but Foose's GT isn't all about the performance.
Instead, the car customizer extraordinaire has focused on tasteful aesthetic enhancement, tweaking the rear end by removing the bumper and trimming the frame extensions. The wheels, meanwhile, are one-off aluminum alloys, designed by Foose himself. Like the stripes, the wheels feature orange accenting.
