1968 Ford Torino Gt Fastback Stock And Sweet!! Pristine! Original, Very Nice** on 2040-cars
Garden City, Idaho, United States
Here you have an incredible and original classic 1968 Ford Torino GT Fastback. This car has been freshened up with new base/clearcoat paint in the original Gulfstream Aqua Color that looks fantastic! Great color and trim combination. It retains the original interior in GREAT SHAPE and original carpet in fabulous condition. The rear hat shelf in the rear window has been refurbished and new tires installed. The car has new upper and lower ball joints, new radius/control arm bushings, tie rod ends, upper and lower control arm bushings, new lower control arms, and new sway bar bushings and retainers. Drives and tracks incredibly well. The 302 V8 runs and powers the car very well and feels every bit as spunky as a 351 that I drove. The A/C is Factory but is not hooked up. This car is in the dry Northwest and as the pictures show, the bottom of the car is nice and dry showing the factory red oxide primer still. No undercoating covering the bottom of the car. The car was purchased from the son of the gentleman that put on all but a few of the miles on the car before he passed. Original documentation as shown in the pictures of owner's manual, warranty info, selling dealer info, and registration/title application. I took and posted a lot of pictures to show how nice this car is and to hopefully answer most of your questions. If you have questions, just send them through and I will do my best to answer them. The car still has the original AM Radio in the dash (not sure about the dash speaker). The dash has no cracks or heaves. Gauges and instruments read fine. Lights all work fine. Wipers work well. The trunk is rust free and has not only the new liner but also retains the felt liner that was in the car. Has a new fuel tank, new heater core, heater hoses, cooling hoses, and new spare tire hold down. New plugs, new plug wires. New fuel filter. Has four wheel drum brakes that are power booster assisted. Could use new door felts and all the glass is nice in this car. This is a nice honest, clean and stock Torino Fastback GT that has not been hot rodded or modified. A true Classic to enjoy and drive and would do very good at show and shines or local car shows. Not too many like this left !! Not the usual Ebay car. Priced fairly for what it is. Try to find one like it?! Don't miss out on this one! Thanks for looking. |

Ford recalls over 680,000 Ford Fusions, Mondeos, and Lincoln MKZs for seat belt pretensioners
Fri, Dec 2 2016Update: We spoke with a Ford representative who said that owners will be notified by mail during the week of January 16 . Dealers will also have the fix available at the same time. Owners can bring in their vehicles to dealers for an evaluation in the mean time. The main text has been updated to reflect this. The Basics: Ford is recalling 680,872 2013-2016 Ford Fusions, 2015-2016 Ford Mondeos, and 2013-2015 Lincoln MKZ s for an issue with front driver-side and passenger-side seat belt pretensioners. The Problem: The seat-belt pretensioners did not have sufficient insulation applied. When the pretensioners are activated, the heat generated can cause the cables connected to the belts to separate, which in turn can prevent the seat belts from effectively restraining the occupant. This can lead to injuries. Injuries/Deaths: Ford reports two accidents and two injuries have occurred that are related to this recall. The fix: A dealer technician will inject an insulation coating around the pretensioner. This should effectively keep the heat away from the cables, ensuring the seat belt will properly restrain the user in a collision. If you own one: Affected owners will be notified by mail on the week of January 16. Dealers will have the fix available that week, and owners will be able to bring in their vehicles for the fix to be implemented free of charge. Related Video:
2014 Ford Transit Connect configurator fires up for the whole family
Mon, 18 Nov 2013The second-generation Ford Transit Connect is almost upon us, and to get work- and family-oriented customers ready for the new model, Ford has launched a configurator for both van and wagon versions. Both body styles will go on sale early next year with the base TC Van starting at $22,000, but customers wanting side windows and rear seats will have to pony up at least an extra $3,000 for the TC Wagon.
Ford is definitely looking to get back into the family van business with the 2014 TC Wagon offering three available trim levels, two engines and the choice between five- and seven-passenger seating (with two wheelbases). Like many recent Ford products, a fancy Titanium trim level is offered, and opting for it will cost you - this trim starts at $29,000, and we were able to spec it out with a panoramic roof, tow package and front and rear parking sensors for a little over $33,000.
Businesses looking for a small, fuel-efficient work vehicle now get more options on the TC Van like the choice of split, hinged rear doors or a liftgate (with or without glass), a long wheelbase ($1,000) and Ford's CrewChief vehicle tracking system ($925). Fully loaded, this van is still costs less than the fullsize E-Series. On both Van and Wagon, the 1.6-liter EcoBoost engine is a $795 option, but it is only offered on short-wheelbase models and Ford has yet to release power or fuel economy specs yet. With the standard 2.5-liter engine, the TC will get up to 21 miles per gallon in the city and 29 mpg on the highway.
Diesel Power finds the ultimate modified oil-burner
Sat, 24 Aug 2013For nine years, Diesel Power magazine has run the Diesel Power Challenge, this year's grindfest being "a week-long torture test that features seven events, nine trucks, 8,000 horsepower, and nearly 15,000 pound-feet of torque." The road to being crowned "the most powerful truck" starts with a dyno run, and then continues through the completion of a CDL-style obstacle course, an eighth-of-a-mile drag race while towing a 10,000-pound trailer, a quarter-mile drag race without a trailer, a fuel economy test in the mountains and finally a sled-pulling test through a 300-foot-long packed-mud pit.
What kind of trucks get into such a fight? Last year's winner, for instance - who upgraded his truck this year to prove he didn't "luck into the win" - drives a 2008 Ford F-250 Super Duty with a 6.4-liter Power Stroke V8 upgraded with a custom intake, Elite Diesel triple turbos and a two-stage nitrous system. Another competitor has a 2005 Dodge Ram 2500 powered by a 5.9-liter Cummins inline-six, upgraded with Garrett turbos, dual-stage nitrous, a seven-inch exhaust stack and twin fans built into the bed to cool the Sun Coast Omega transmission. The numbers on that truck: 1,255 horsepower, and 2,063 pound-feet of torque at the wheels. Naturally, as the image above might suggest, things don't always end well.
You'll find all five videos covering this years challenge below. A scene in the dyno video sums it all up perfectly: a competitor leaves his nitrous on too long and the crew is treated to some ominous poppings, he leans out the window, throws both hands up and shouts, "Amer'ca!"
