I purchased this rust-free, unmolested, original paint Meadowlark Yellow fastback, 302 cu. in. 210HP, C4 automatic
with console and bucket seats in 2010 along with the original owner's paperwork indicating it spent most of its
life in the Los Angeles, California area. The original paint was worn thin with primer beginning to show and the
trim needing to be refurbished. The car was completely stripped of all trim including the bumpers and re-chromed,
re-anodized, polished, or replaced. Minor body work was completed (none involving rust) and then painted in the
original color. I have all receipts and have each item listed line by line indicating total cost of $30,000
including the original purchase price. I have over 400 photos documenting the refurbishment and upgrading process.
NADA price report (2/20/16) indicates $33,000 High Retail. This price has been adjusted for air conditioning which
is the only adder included in the NADA pricing. Note the original A/C components have been changed to 134a from the
firewall forward including a new condenser and more efficient Sanden compressor. Added 3 relays (low, medium, &
high) to the blower motor which removes the electrical load from the original switch. The interior only required
replacement of the foam and upholstery on the driver's bucket seat and carpet. A new headliner had been installed
when I purchased the auto. I like the "porthole" dash presentation, but the speedometer is difficult to read, even
in daylight, I assume this is why Ford went to an argent background color in 1969. Rather than change the
background I installed a dimmer equipped strip of LED lights around the speedometer that are turned ON with the
ignition switch (operates day or night).. Quick list of upgrades: Self-winding shoulder seat belts. Does away with
the clumsy two buckle first year Ford shoulder belts. Fuse box added on radiator support.. Relays added for low and
high beam halogen headlights. Relay added to serve Sanden A/C compressor clutch. #8 gauge wire from new fuse box
location to (3) relays serving the A/C heater blower. Fire extinguisher mounted in trunk (required at most auto
shows). Automatic radio antenna. Operates up/down when radio is turned on/off. Power steering fluid cooler added in
return line to pump. Stainless steel radiator overflow tank. Grant wood steering wheel. Original, in good
condition, is also included. Ford Duraspark II electronic ignition. Voltmeter installed in clock location. Dual
exhaust. Exits in original locations behind rear wheels. Automatic transmission overhauled by local shop. The
flawless condition, upgrades, and recent addition of new rear brakes easily qualify this vehicle for the "High
Retail" NADA value.

Ford, Volvo top 2014 EyesOn Design awards

Fri, 17 Jan 2014

Each year at the Detroit Auto Show, the top vehicle designs are recognized with the prestigious EyesOn Design award for production and concept vehicles. This year, the 32 EyesOn Design judges (comprised of current and former vehicle designers including Chrysler designer and SRT president Ralph Gilles, Kia designer Peter Schreyer and retired General Motors designer Wayne Cherry) handed out three awards for the Best Concept Vehicle, Best Production Vehicle and Innovative Use of Color, Graphics, and Materials.
Beating out the Mercedes C-Class and Ford F-150, the 2015 Ford Mustang was named the Best Production Vehicle as the top auto show debut at this year's Detroit show. The 2014 Volvo Concept XC Coupe took home awards as the Best Concept Vehicle and for its Innovative Use of Color, Graphics and Materials.
Considering the Volvo's primer grey hue and subtle orange accents, it was a rather surprising winner for Innovative Use of Color, Graphics, and Materials over flashier concepts like the Toyota FT-1 and our Editors' Choice top pick, the Kia GT4 Stinger. Other vehicles in the running for the concept car award include the GT4 Stinger and Audi Allroad Shooting Brake

Ford, Renault have surprises in store for Le Mans

Tue, Jun 9 2015

All those prototype and GT racers won't be the only attraction catching our eye at the 24 Hours of Le Mans this weekend. Two major automakers have also confirmed that they've got new metal to unveil. And while they're not saying exactly what they'll be, we've got some pretty good ideas. First up is Ford, which has announced a "major Ford Performance news announcement" on Friday. Chairman Bill Ford, CEO Mark Fields, and product development chief Raj Nair will be on hand for the announcement set to take place on Friday at 10:00 AM Eastern. The Blue Oval isn't saying just what it has in store, but the widespread speculation has been that it will present a racing version of the new Ford GT at Le Mans a good half century since the original GT40 raced there. Meanwhile, Renault has announced that it is marking the 60th anniversary of the Alpine marque at Le Mans this Saturday. The French automaker has been working on reviving the dormant marque, and looks poised to finally reveal its new sports car at its iconic home endurance race this weekend. Tipped to be called the Alpine AS1, the new sports car will bring the marque back out of retirement in a more real way than the ELMS-winning LMP2 prototype ever could. Expect it to be based on the mid-engined chassis underpinning the Renault RS 01 spec racer, but built for the road. Ford Fusion production scaled back just 3 months after it was accelerated

Mon, 02 Dec 2013

Three months after kicking off production of the Ford Fusion at its Flat Rock, MI factory, Ford Motor Company is taking steps to trim output in the face of heavily discounted competition from Toyota and a growing supply of vehicles.
The addition of Fusion production in Flat Rock - which also builds the Mustang - was meant to be what pushed the handsome mid-sizer past its arch-nemesis, the Toyota Camry. An extra facility building Fusions was also meant to curb the growing demand for Ford's highly profitable sedan.
But with word that Flat Rock would take "approximately" one extra week off for the holidays combined with an 88-day supply of Fusions - reportedly due in no small part to what Morgan Stanley analyst Adam Jonas called "aggressive discounting of the Camry" - some analysts are now beginning to wonder if Ford may have overextended itself by adding a second Fusion facility to the mix.
