Ford: 1965 Ford Thunderbird Base 6.4l 390 Fe 2 Door Coupe Hardtop on 2040-cars
United States
1965 Ford Thunderbird 390 FE Very straight body no dents and no cancer. Has a stout 390 c.i.d fe (runs and drives) that puts out 300 hp and 427 lbf of torque. Replaced original carburetor with a Holley 4160 4bbl. Recently replaced fuel pump and fuel filter as well as changed the oil. Gets around good (notice picture locations). Brakes work good. The car is still wearing its original paint (Diamond Blue) . Floor boards are very strong as well as the trunk floor. Deck lid is straight and in good condition. Rockers are in good condition. Fender/Wheel wells are in good condition. All chrome is on the car. It’s missing passenger side Thunderbird lettering on rear quarter panel. Other than that all moldings and badges are on the car. All glass is good (no cracks or chips) although driver side window won’t roll up. It needs a new motor inside door panel. All lines are very straight as illustrated in pictures, doors shut very easy and very tight. It has the original hubcaps on all for wheels (not easy to come by). It has the original fender skirts that came with it, and they are in good condition (on or off) your choice. The windshield wipers work. This is an original factory optioned A/C car, it does need a belt. Getting to the interior, the dash is in very good condition (no cracks). It has a functional swing away steering wheel. The original factory radio still works. All dash lights work and are a very cool glowing green. The speedometer works its fills up red like a thermometer to tell you the speed, very cool. The fuel gauge doesn’t work; all other gauges work on dash. Carpet is worn on driver side around rubber mat. The driver side seat has a rip in the shoulder section; there are no other rips or holes in any of the other seats. The armrests are worn on doors but are complete and functional. The transmission is the original 3 speed automatic and it shifts well. There’s an upgraded dual exhaust system (pipes and mufflers), it sounds very good. The factory power options are; power windows, power seats, power steering, power brakes (disc brakes in front), full power options. It still has the original tire jack and owner’s manual (not a pen/or pencil mark in it). This is a very original and very complete car. If any other questions or pictures are needed please message me. There is no warranty, car is sold as-is. Any reasonable offer will be considered. |

Car Club USA: Louisiana Mudfest
Tue, Jun 16 2015There's nothing quite like mudding. Big tires, huge power, and crazy-wild gearheads that like to throw down on a mud pit almost as much as a thirty rack of Coors. In the latest, and some might argue greatest yet episode of Car Club USA, we head to Louisiana to throw some dirt at Mudfest. As Louisiana's one and only Mouth of the South puts it, "If you don't mud ride... go to Texas I guess." Joining The Mouth and friendly rivals The Most Hated Mud Sluts, we dive in. Beyond the obvious V8 blasting and tractor-tire spinning, those who know best describe Mudfest as, "Good cooking, good friends, good fun, and a lot of partying." It's a motorsport spectacle unlike any you're likely to find up North or out West, though no less impressive to behold. Follow along with the fun, the impromptu drag racing, the trash talking, and the mechanical madness. And find out why, at Mudfest, "if we don't tear it up, we ain't done it right." Each Car Club USA episode features a different car club or event from across the US, where passionate owner communities gather to share automotive experiences and embark on incredible adventures. From Main Street cruises to off-road trails, catch all the latest car club activity on Autoblog. Chevrolet Ford Jeep RAM Truck Off-Road Vehicles Car Club USA Videos autoblog black
Jurassic Park made a big impact on these Jeep drivers
Thu, 12 Jun 2014For a certain cohort of young folks, Jurassic Park is a touchstone film from their childhood. Not only did it play into practically every little boy's love of dinosaurs, the movie included some great action scenes and special effects that still hold up today. In its latest video, The Aficionauto takes a look the Jurassic Park Motor Pool, a California car club with over 40 fans who created replica vehicles from the iconic film.
The club is made up of an interesting cross-section of people. Many of them were Jeep Wrangler fans that already loved off-roading and Jurassic Park, and liked the idea of bringing them together. Like any close-knit club, it ends up being about community and people coming together to share their interests. It's quite a heartwarming video. Also, be sure to stay until the end because The Aficionauto teases a future Jurassic Park-themed vehicle. Scroll down to check out the motor pool.
Leno chooses his top 10 Mustangs
Sat, 14 Jun 2014He may be a few months late to the party, but in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Ford Mustang, Jay Leno has delivered a short video in which he runs down which of the Blue Oval's pony cars from the past 50 years are his favorites.
The list is pretty darn similar to our own, with some of the big names from the Mustang's half century making an appearance, while there are three or four cars here that we think you'll be pretty surprised by.
Take a look below for this short video from Jay Leno's Garage.
