Selling my 1997 Sport with 141372 miles on it. Ran into the back of a Dodge pickup and decided it was time to move on to something else. Car still will start and drive around the lot where its parked but the radiator is shot so it won't run long. Will need new radiator, fan, front end body panels, condenser, core support, header panel, passenger side headlight, both airbags, battery, and various other small parts. Most of the damage is above frame level as the car went under the back bumper.
Things I have done to the car:
- New motorcraft starter installed 2 months ago.
- Replaced everything in the A/C system with new parts except the evaporator core 2 years ago, and installed a new heater core in 2007.
- Cooling system has been flushed regularly.
- Transmission filter and fluid changed about 10,000 miles ago
- Amsoil is what I use in the engine and transmission
- Plugs and wires replaced with Motorcraft parts at 109000 miles.
- Both coil packs have been replaced with new ones.
- Serpentine belt new around 135000 miles.
- New water pump installed at 125000 miles
- New tensioner and idler pulleys installed at 127000 miles
- New fuel filter installed at 115000 miles.
- Dynomax DirectFit catalytic converters installed for better flow.
- Cat-back exhaust with single pipe that Ys to dual Flowmaster mufflers
- Both rear HO2S sensors replaced in the last 20000 miles.
- Flex plate replaced at 115000 miles.
- Aftermarket airfilter
- Window tint
- New upper and lower control arms with ball joints and alignment at 120000 miles and I had the alignment rechecked at 134000 miles.
- Rear sway bar end links replaced
- Ford Racing PI intake installed at 132000 miles due to factory intake splitting the coolant crossover.
I have done most of the work on the car myself and have most of the receipts for the parts that I installed and the work that has been done at other shops.
The car now has stock Sport/SC rims with P225/55R16 Firestone Firehawk tires - All 4 tires match and about half tread left. Title is a clear Texas title that I have in my possesion. Car is inspected to 12/13.
Vehicle is for sale locally so auction will be ended if sold.

Bill Ford wins National Pond Hockey Championship with employees
Tue, 11 Feb 2014Who says executives aren't people? This past weekend, Bill Ford, executive chairman of Ford Motor Company, and a group of employees trekked up to Eagle River, WI for a few games of pond hockey. Team Ford took part in the 2014 Labatt Blue/USA Pond Hockey Championship, capturing its fifth title in the 50+ Tier 1 Division.
"It feels great to win," Ford, who plays on the team alongside other Ford employees, told the USA Hockey website. "It was fun to play [River Valley Pioneers] because they're great guys and we play them every year. We finally beat them, which we were due. It was a very clean game, a tough game."
The FoMoCo team managed to score seven goals to River Valley's two, and went undefeated in all five of its games during the tourney. Take a look below for the official press release on Team Ford's win.
Ford evaluating new Fiesta RS?
Wed, 08 Jan 2014Word coming in from across the pond has it that Ford is working on developing the business case to create a new Fiesta RS. The development is encouraged by the extremely positive reception the existing Fiesta ST has garnered to date, and the emergence of the above-pictured Fiesta RS WRC rally car, but it'll take more than goodwill to make a more extreme version a reality.
According to Auto Express, a new roadgoing Fiesta RS would almost certainly be based closely on the ST version, albeit with some vital differences. Its 1.6-liter turbo four would be increased from 180 horsepower to somewhere around 230 hp, and that powertrain would be accompanied by lightweight alloys inside blistered wheel arches, a stripped-out interior and possibly lightweight bodywork.
The vehicle's approval would reportedly require a strong business case in Europe, and not just in the UK where Ford hot hatches traditionally enjoy a strong following. It's unclear whether the Fiesta RS would potentially make the transatlantic voyage to American showrooms, but between it and the larger Focus RS, hopefully the Blue Oval wouldn't leave its home market out of the action altogether.
Mercury rises around sexy Cougar pack
Sat, May 30 2015With a slightly larger body and a more luxurious interior, the Mercury Cougar doesn't carry quite as much cachet among pony car enthusiasts as the venerable Ford Mustang. But don't try to make that argument around Cougar super-fan Mike Brown. Since starting his Cougar collecting in 1988, Brown has become an absolute expert on the model, and he claims to have owned 400 of the Mercury pony cars in that time. Ten of them are in his collection today, not to mention a heap of spare parts in the garage. Check out some of the rarer members of Brown's fleet and allow him to tell you about them in this interesting interview from Electric Federal.
