1990 Ford Thunderbird Sc Suercoupe 3.8 Auto 74k Actual Miles New Tires Unaltered on 2040-cars
Wytheville, Virginia, United States
For your consideration is this rare and original 1990 Ford Thunderbird SC that will be sold to the highest bidder at no reserve! This car was bought from the family of the original owners, it was a one family owned car until last fall (09-2013) when I acquired it and I have known the car since new! This T bird only has 74K actual miles on it, it has been adult owned and cared for since new! The Bird was serviced by the local Ford dealership until it was placed in storage a few years ago. The car is painted Colonial white with a nice maroon interior. It is equipped with the supercharged 3.8 v6 engine and an automatic trans. The car has all the bells and whistles that a 90 Super Coupe would have had. It has a new set of BF Goodrich tires (245/50/16 front & 255/50/16 rear)! The paint is nice but could use a good buffing! The interior in very nice as well, just a little sun faded. The car runs and drives great! It handles amazingly and rides like it should! I have driven the car about 800 miles in the time that I have had it. The only problems with the car that I am aware of are the heater blower and turn signals currently do not work. Also the ABS booster is not working correctly. The brakes work but there is no power assist. All in all this is a nice rare low mileage car that is gaining popularity. Fix a few minor issues and you will have a great car that runs well and is easy on gas to! I try to give an accurate description of the vehicle, if you have any questions please ask. If you need more pictures I will get them. This is an original T Bird, the car is titled in my name and clear title will be provided to the new owner upon receipt of cleared payment! This car is a 24 year old car and is being sold as-is where-is. A $250 deposit is due within 24 hours, the balance in 7 days. The truck should be removed within two weeks unless prior arrangements have been made, I will work with the new owner as best as I can.

How the Ford Shelby Mustang came to be
Fri, 20 Sep 2013Even as rumors swirl that the next-generation of high-performance Ford Mustang will drop the Shelby name, Ford has released a short video telling how the legend of the Shelby Mustang came to be. In its latest installment of its video series entitled Mustang Countdown, Ford dug up some footage from Carroll Shelby to give a little insight into how this automotive icon was created.
While it's definitely interesting to hear the late legend tell the story in his own words (including numerous references to the 1964 Mustang as a "secretary's car"), it's also pretty funny learning exactly how the Shelby GT350 got its name in the first place - a name allegedly making a comeback as the replacement for the current Shelby GT500. As development work continues on the 2015 Ford Mustang, the Shelby video posted below shows that the automaker is always looking at its past - even as it looks ahead to the future.
Focus ST diesel variant coming, just don't look for it here
Fri, 07 Mar 2014A few years back, Volkswagen made some waves when it announced the Golf GTD - a diesel-powered car that, aside from its ultra-efficient, ultra-torquey engine, was identical to the gas-powered GTI. That meant cosseting sport seats, larger wheels, sportier suspension, larger brakes and a body kit that made the GTD indistinguishable from the GTI, except for the three little letters on the back and in the grille.
Now, Ford is looking to replicate VW's success, with a diesel version of the Focus ST. According to Motor Trend, the diesel-powered ST will use a 2.0-liter, 182-horsepower four-cylinder. With an unspecified amount of torque on offer (we'd guess around 280 pound-feet), the diesel hot hatch should hit 62 miles per hour in about eight seconds.
The report, which originally comes from Auto Express, claims the ST Diesel was confirmed by Ford Chief Marketing Officer Mark Fields during this week's Geneva Motor Show. Not surprisingly, it doesn't appear there are any plans to bring a diesel-powered Focus of any kind to the US, let alone one that uses the suspension, steering and other items from the ST. Of course, if there's an official confirmation from Ford, we'll be sure to report on it.
Ford Fiesta becomes UK all-time best seller
Thu, 24 Jul 2014We may regard Ford as an American automaker, but ask a Brit and they may tell you otherwise. The Blue Oval has, after all, been selling cars in the UK since 1903, and started manufacturing there as far back as 1911 when it began local production of the Model T in Manchester. Last year Ford ended 100 years of vehicle manufacturing in the UK when the last Transit van rolled off the assembly line in Southampton, but it's still the biggest-selling automotive marque in Britain.
Ford has led the British market for 34 out of the past 45 years, selling more Fiestas than any other company sells any other car in the UK since 2009... when it overtook the Focus. In fact the Fiesta has now become the best-selling car in British history, topping 4,115,000 units since its introduction in 1976. The previous record was held by - you guessed it - another Ford: the Escort sold 4,105,961 units over the course of its 32 years on the British market.
Although the Fiesta is no longer manufactured in the UK (previous versions having been built at Dagenham until 2002), engines are: the EcoBoost line was developed at the company's R&D center in Essex and are built at the factory in Dunton, while its diesel engines were developed at Dagenham in East London. Even the 1.6-liter EcoBoost engine in the Fiesta ST is built in South Wales.
